Marth isn't as bad as Sheik, Falco, or Fox. You should really complain about one of them instead.

Yeah but Falcon can do anything to Roy that makes him end up dead really fast. I think that at least evens the score. XD

The one thing I will admit that I hate and am always confused by is Marth's dash attack. I know it's coming, so I try to wavedash away or dash away from it, but it shoots forward so fast and so far, I still get hit.

Lesson, just jump and stomp or shield and grab when Marths do that. Forget trying to run away and be all "I'm spacing your ****". Don't shield and stomp though. That's generally not fast enough for punishing dash attacks, in my experience. It's a habit I'm still trying to kick, but have gotten better about. Can't just spam dair out of shield.

Don't take Marth to a small stage.

You'll get dooked on.
SS vs. Taj. lol

but really is it that bad to take Marth to a small stage?

it's because Falcon can't actually Combo Marth out of throws until 30%ish when uthrow starts to legit combo into nair. your best option is to dthrow and chain it into another grab if they miss the DI or tech chase if they DI successfully.
Thanks for posting this. blarg this match-up is hard as hell.

UPTRHOW KNEE MAN.

Rayn, I just tend to agree with Mango in that Falcon can't do **** on small stages, especially with a character who has the control and spacing of Marth.

sometimes I nair and I only hit them with the first kick and I can't capitalize on it at all because hitting them with just the first kick when they are in midair is totally useless. I lost a tournament set because of this, well that's not the only reason the guy I was playing was definitely just better than me. how do i NOT do this? in fact, how do I never do this again? its pretty frustrating sometimes.

what should I do instead? DD -> grab?

sometimes i seriously think captain falcon is the worst character in the game and i should switch to fox. but i think that's just a part of being a falcon main

So I need help on my cf vs peach matchup. Scar how do you fight a peach well? Also having trouble with ice climbers occasionally. I can make really good use of the nair, but sometimes both of those characters outspace it.

BTW mokumo, i tried getting a hold of you before but if you could look at the latest videos of mine in the plz critique my falcon thread. that would be great.

PS. I used to be Captain Falcon741. U remember me? Just wanna see how much u think i have improved?

learn to DD -> pivot makes playing falcon so much easier, cuz u can like bait the marth to grab u and last sec pivot forward smash cuz falcon pulls in from his body causing marth to take a forward smash to the face,

shes pretty light while still being comboable, just land a grab or a Nair and from there u can just **** her into a knee which wll kill her because shes light. Another funny thing is Peach cant meteor cancle very well so just stomp her off the stage if u get a chance

Unless you want some specific advice on peach like where to hit her, I would say search for "peach" on this thread, because this thread has gone over how to hit her in the face many times. I think I have something new in this matchup, though. Aiming for the ovaries seems to work when you can't hit her in the face.

Thoughts?

nair is a good approach move against peach, since the first hit can take out a turnip. What you never want to do is land right next to her out of it though. Either pull it back so you space well with the ends of his feet, or you fly past her. She can easily CC to dsmash it or shield grab it if you you land in front of her. You're going to end up either remaining in a neutral standing, hitting her with the first hit for a couple percent (which is still good because it interrupts whatever she's doing), or hit her with the second hit/both hits, which can lead to a lot of stuff, grabs, another nair, a knee, etc.

When you throw her, 90% of the time it's going to be a dthrow, unless she's at a really low percent and you want the uair because you think you can do something with it. At really low percents you can CG her with the dthrow. Once she gets a bit higher you can nair her if she DIs out, if she DIs in you can uair, both of which lead to things. Once she gets to the mid 50s i think, you can knee her out if it. At higher percents its a kill, at lower percents its damage, or a lead in to a combo/edge guard.

IMO when you're edge guarding, the reverse uair is very nice. Alot of the time when you're edge guarding her, if you hit her with a safe move like the front of the uair she's just going to DI and it often helps her onto the stage. The reverse uair tipper, despite being weaker, is going to knock her mostly out, and it'll impede her recovery, and sometimes you can even gimp her with it, not to mention unlike the bair it's very safe, as it has alot of vertical+horizontal range, so when she's floating up there you can snag her with it and the best she can do is dodge it. The point being, either it's going to hit her, or force her to move backwards, or parasol, or air dodge, at no risk to you. You can do it when she's below the stage as well, but that's much riskier. I'd say only go for it if she's far enough down and out that she won't make it back if she parasols.

I don't know IC's very well, but the knee and forward b are both decent approaches. Separate them and **** nana.

Yeah I was thinking about trying Mute City next time against Sheik. She can't ledgestall and you can **** her recovery hard there. Then again, she can gimp you even easier there too.
