Yeah I was thinking about trying Mute City next time against Sheik. She can't ledgestall and you can **** her recovery hard there. Then again, she can gimp you even easier there too.
Mute city seems bad on paper. Sheik ***** CF's recovery harder there, than CF ***** sheik's recovery. The stage is also small so less room to run around.

I'm also considering switching to sheik against shiek. How hard is it to learn sheik well enough to be competitive in sheik dittos?

I wish I won on FD against him just to say I proved you wrong. >=[

But if I remember right he did ban it and mew2king said something about Falcon having the advantage there ( I don't believe him :( ).
Ya I'm pretty convinced M2K is just a moron. He's also pretty good at this game though. At least, the actual playing it part.

imo fd vs. sheik isn't that bad. learn to escape the tech-chase guys. lack of platforms for sheik to camp on or interrupt your combos, or for sheik to up-b to while recovering. etc. not my first choice tho

don't tech and hold up at 32%+
i'd still lose mad hard against those two, or worse sheiks, though.

I can't speak for everybody, but even when I do that trick, which did help a lot in the matchup against those two, I was still praying for some kind of god to save me for only someone who is that powerful can save me from Sheik during that situation.

no when you miss a tech vs sheik's tech chase she can jab you and CF is forced to get up in place until like 40%, then you can roll after the jab by holding a direction

SDI eliminates that entire process so sheik's tech chase vs falcon is pretty much grab dthrow you miss tech you SDI you're free
dont tech, SDI the jab

i read mango has a trick where you just rotate the stick ?
something like that
Scar knows more about it

tell me scar whats up with that
make a video about it plzz

apparently it works at 0% too

Magus the point is that you don't have to SDI up you just have to SDI, I used your trixies as much as I could and it was helpful but Mango's rotate the stick trick works like 90% of the time at 0%, so now the actionable advice to be given is get dthrown, miss the tech, and rotate the stick.

you don't have to SDI up you just have to smash DI, just like vs fox's uthrow uair

you rotate the stick as though you're trying to break free from a grab, and the inputs are all smashes, if you smash while in hitstun (which you will) you are smash DIing the hit, so you get propelled in that direction

it'll free you from the ground no matter what direction you press, unless it's down in which case idk what happens

also you can do it at any %

falcons don't care about getting popped up and faired for a total of like 25% damage, we care about getting tech chased until 42 then dash attacked then tilted and faired offstage at 70

if u get grabbed at low percents, miss the tech and just sdi it.
everyone talks about it but falcon mains should start doing it
its incredibly easy and reliable

edit: imagine the joystick as a clock where 12 is directly up. I've found what makes the sdi extremely easy to pull off is to wiggle the joystick as fast and you can between 11 and 1 oclock.
works everytime

Been messing around with SDI'ing the jab vs spinning the stick, and found plain SDI to work better (For me, at least).

Maybe I'm spinning the stick wrong, or maybe sometimes I Smash DI down, but I don't like it as much.

Edit: Strongbad, you definitely don't need to past 32 (I thought 35-36%), but it still helps :p. Good advice for the less... good? players I guess.

didnt magus come in here and clear that up like a month ago. like just wiggle in between two points and if done right youll get multiple sDI inputs and be able to get out at 0%?

when i play sheik vs falcons they try that cause they think theyre cool and i just up smash them and grab them again

then their world is turned upside down and its straight back to 2007 tech chasing

tech chase is ****ing ridiculous good and no tiny little trick is good enough to change that

There is no trick that will suddenly unlock the matchup and make it easy; like Scar says, everything helps.

Secret to Falcon, as you all know: Play better than your opponent, (Usually) win.

Useful post.
