When comboing with short hop uair, which is more effective: fast fall + l cancel or do nothing and auto cancel?
theres actually 3 kinds of sh upairs

1. upair immediately after jump, FF, LC (standard for combos)

2. upair immediately after jump, no FF, auto cancel(rarely used but someone can correct me). I guess used for comboing off the stage into DJ upair or knee. Can be used to eddie spike.

3. jump, wait to hit with upair then FF, LC(essentially a half-upair, but varies based on when you use it)

The third one is used when people are far away, so you delay the upair to run farther and get closer. Also good to punish missed techs cuz of the crazy range.

I would say that if you're trying to combo with short hop uair, it's always better to fast fall and l-cancel, cause you want to be moving and attacking again as soon as possible.

Edit: Welp, got beat by two people in the mean time. Ha ha.

when im shffling upairs in a combo, i skip all of that fancy stuff and just **** it up instead. works every time.

even if that's true (i believe matt r tho) odds are you won't be getting it every time and you'll have to delay the uair most of the time, so i'd suggest getting used to getting it out as fast as possible and not worrying at all about autocanceling

if you do autocancel tho be mindful of it and don't land in shield

fact: you can l cancel uair people off the ground, into a knee. good for mid % peeps when they DI down and away, hit the ground, and dont tech.

Thanks for the replies but I wanted to know if there is a trick to getting the knee out earlier. Sorry for the confusing post.

just hold to the side as you run off the stage and press A and then jump back as soon as the knee is done.

if you do it correctly you'll make it onto the stage, ie past just the ledge

it outranges u tilt watch out for jab lol that **** is so annoying. if they jab i like to cc grab or shield grab but i dunno marth is gay as hell

News to me, Falcon's sffhl nair outprioritizes Marth's uptilt?

It maybe be bigger but I thought since uptilt is a grounded disjointed hitbox it still beats out nair if you time it right.

im pretty sure the tip of the second foot penetrates or trades at least, and falcon has the frame advantage at low %s and can follow up with a grab even if it trades

and then you can try 6 different moves

i know you've been told this a thousand times but STOP TYPING LIKE MANGO

it's ****ing annoying. typing like mango doesn't make you better at the game. HAHAHAHA. although your combo video was tooooooooooooooooooo good.
