So... just now... I asked hilt how to reverse usmash and heaven opened. 2 things

(1) Reverse upsmash is **** and you all should know how to do it

(2) If you don't hit up on the control stick and just hold the opposite direction of your dash and buffer a fair, it's like... a double rainbow. Basically this lightning quick retreating forward air in the opposite direction you you dashing.... I can already see it ****** peach.

More later.
I have already been doing those two for a while. Snake makes the first one really easy to do and the second one is quite easy with Meta Knight. I showed the possibilities of the second one. Doing the reverse Fair (or whatever you'd like to call it) is a good mindgame. It messes up the opponents DI at times. I tried it out on Snake once and he went the opposite way.

So i was running left, did the reverse fair facing right, which sent him left. The best part: you can combo with Bair at low percents. Thank the lord. And Giovanni.

Why would you reverse usmash with Snake? lol but yeah, I know reverse usmash has been known for awhile, I've just never seen an olimar do it and I rarely see people do it in general.

Anyways, that's really cool to know, I'll try fair to bair sometime ^^;

Fair just seems like an amazingly better option than bair when running away. It's 3 frames faster etc. I'm finding it hard to SH the fair though, then again I've only been messing with it just now, haha.

Hmm, I could swear I told everyone about this upsmash thing.

Hey, even though my last strategy question hasn't been answered, I've got another! I was looking at the "Best vids of Each Character" thread and someone noticed San do this tech called the Reverse Jump Cancelled Up Smash, here are some videos:

Reverse Jump Cancelled Up Smash
San Performing RJCUS At 5:14

Sure, ours doesn't have the same range as Ike's but it seems like it could still be REALLY useful - a retreating purple usmash would be amazing :D The input isn't too hard once you get the hang of it. Have any of you tried this, and have you had any success with it?
Oh yea - that's because I did O_o

Ah who cares, Fino's posts carry more weight so maybe this will go to good use now

Reverse u-smash is incredibly gay against DDD. I used to main Snake but now I second him. I won't go into detail with how it helped snake since it's the PIKMIN & OLIMAR boards. :p I will show off further use of both things in my next videos so look forward to it cowboy :lick:

But in regards to the reverse fair, it's very nice. I've been experimenting with it a lot in training mode after I dropped Meta. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't bair have more range?

Also fino, very random, but remember when I you used to call me a horrible Olimar?

Noa.

Yeah, I've been looking on where there is a thread that tells you how to do it. I've been looking for MONTHS ;-;
it's not that hard actually; all you need to do is

1. Dash one direction
2. Smash the other direction like you're about to pivot
3. Immediately quarter circle up and press A or c-stick up.

If you choose A, you can charge it if you think someone's about to run right into it. The timing also seems to be a bit easier with A; if you c-stick too early, you just usmash the direction you were dashing, and I think too late makes you jump instead. Thanks, since it seems like you're the only one who noticed  I really do think this could be useful
Reverae hyphen usmash is too easy, Fino is just trolling. :3
Yeah, I was there... and I got confused with how you said how to do it so I got frustrated and went looking how to do it somewhere else XD. AND NOW I KNOW HOW TO, THIS IS THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MYYY LIIIIIFFFEEE!

XD

Bair has more range below Olimar, but I think fair has more horizontal range. If there is a difference between the two it's negligible, I can barely tell the difference tbh.

And yea, cause you beat me on wifi zomg hahahaha. We were all stupid back then, lol. But to your credit, I was bad back then (still am <.<)

And side note: none of ya'll **** better think we good at this game until one of us starts placing higher at nationals. :p Just cause we know stuff don't mean we're good XD

I got 3 shots in august, rich possibly has 2 and logic probably will as well. I don't think hilt is making it to anything, L might make 1? dotcom (post more mang), dabuz, and all you other tricks out there I know you good enough to help us step it up

Well said  If we get our hit bubbles or hitboxes revealed this would greatly help. The side note was directed towards me, I know it haha. Do regionals count? I doubt I'll ever go to a national since I'm poor.

Also full frame data stuff, which thank goodness we have hilt and he's collecting that on his own time <3

The side note was directed towards everyone. No one should be complacent, haha.

And, if you think regional tournaments count it's your opinion. I'm just thinking out loud really. Everyone has their own definition of "good" - my casual friends think my snake is good (I never played snake until playing with them... lol). Don't let me bring you down ;o

Just from playing I've seen situations where I wish I knew how to but had to settle for using another move instead. Most of these situations involve punishing a move coming towards you with a pivot grab, and then getting jewed by not having grab armor, lol.

Oh, I'm not passing myself off as a good player. You can't bring down what is already down. I need to show it. This saturday is gonna be very exciting, Havok, M2K, Tyrant, Mikehaze and Pals are all coming to the tourney so I'm hoping to place high and cause an upset. We need more Oli rep! :)

Guess I'll try to be more clear once I find and need to explain a metagame changing technique :p

I gotta start doin this and chargin ****, make people feel dumb when they jump right into it ^_^

random thought I meant to post earlier: man, grounded tether is so good against Marth. It works on those I've played, though I have a feeling it wouldn't with really high level Marths, or would it? Confirmation guys? Only way around it I see is to A) Stop abusing Oli's window B) Counter? idk what the vertical hitbox is C) SHAD, and Oli can easily answer that one. They could also try to bait it and then punish afterwards, so it has to be used with caution, but it still seems to work pretty well

I'm with Turaz on Drrr! as well =o
Though, I watched it a few months back as opposed to just now. Read and watched. Watched first, then read. Yar.

Also, Uair through a platform at a shielding opponent > Pikmin Chain onto it > Smash/Utilt is 2gud
Considering they shield the PC as well, mind you

I've done it a few times to Mikehaze but overall, it's just a bad option. At low percents it can hit, but you can't follow up and if you mess up the timing he can punish you. At higher percents it's even more unlikely to hit.
How unfortunate :(

In other news, I'm not wearing any pants
