I would rather Usmash, Dsmash, or grab after a Nair. I still got to gt used to the grabbing option.
I take it you've never lost a stock because you nair'd someone and they DI'd down and pshielded your smash. Or just shielded the nair all together (but you should utilt/jab if this happens anyway if you want the safest option).

It was obvious too. How did you guys miss that. >.>
i don't even know how they missed it lol

I've been Nair'd by MK when I nair the shield. It sucks that Oli has no safe options on someones shield when coming from the air. He can always get shield grabbed. Grabing after a nair seems to solve the "they go hit but shield when they land" option, and at a high percent, depending on if i have a purple/blue pikmin next in line, grabbing would kill faster then footstool Dair.

I don't think I implied anywhere that this was a kill combo. Does every option from nair have to kill to be viable? At lower percents you can Nair > Footstool > Dair > DJ > Uair or Nair > Footstool > Dair > FF Nair > Upsmash (works if they aerial dodge after dair)

Ok, I asked this earlier, but now I have video to go along with the question:

Logic v. Lain

Look at 1:11. Logic pivot grabs Lain and SoPo almost magically breaks out less than a second later. Considering the percentage that SoPo was at, I highly doubt ANYONE could mash out so quickly, so I'm led to believe this is a flaw in Oli's pivot grab - or am I wrong in thinking a mash out that quick is impossible?

Tinman, oli can retreating fair someone's shield and they can't shieldgrab unless powershielded, not even charizard (has a bigger grab range than ddd lol)

yeah iunno, when i grab at max range, sometimes they break out of it. I'm so pissed that that happens. Its not even like the stage interupts me either

Ok, here's an idea. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when people are hit with a strong attack while in a grab, they are hit out of the grab, right? What if this is not due to the damage being dealt but the distance that the character would move as a result? If this were the case, then perhaps when Oli grabs at his max pivot grab reach, by the time the pikmin drags the character to Oli the character has already moved too much and breaks out of the grab as a result.

This is really the only theory I've got on the matter :/

well also, the pruple pikmin draw in the layer significantly slower then any other pikmin, and the otherones grab farther. But its not only the purples that get broken out of. Literally only happens to me at max grab range, and well i am not sure if ur theory is the solution to this conflict.

Well what I meant was that only when a pikmin has to drag an opponent across Oli's max pivot grab distance does a character move the necessary amount to break out. That said, I don't know if it's the solution either, just throwin it out there ^_^

Yeah, you can start mashing as soon as your grabbed, and oli has to wait until the pikmin comes back. Not sure on the specifics though, have to wait for hilt.

I think I finally got apex stuff down @.@ **** is such a hassle, lmao. Still might need help if any of you going can help me out, lol.

Guys, I just had a thought while watching one of Clove's videos. Uair is great for shield pressure on an opponent that's on a platform above you, right? What I want to know is this: do all pikmin eat the same amount of shield? As in, if I hit someone's shield with a red pikmin, will his/her shield deplete as much as if I had used a yellow, or a purple? And if not, is this directly correlated with the damage each pikmin deals with uair?

I'd test this but I don't have anyone to shield :/

Shield pressure is correlated to damage iirc, with exceptions on some moves, might be wrong. haha

Alright then, next question: purples deal the greatest amount of damage, correct? So can a purple uair with all hits connecting stab through a full shield? I get the feeling the answer is character specific due to shield sizes

what is it with ppl who MM all the active members of a certain character board. They think they got that matchup down so well that the ppl they challenge become free all of a sudden?

FlameWaveK, if for some reason we're ever at the same tournament I'm going to search you out for that Money Match. Like... you have no idea how fast I'm gonna find you XD. I wanted to Money Match Lee Martin, but he refuses to go anyone but MK against Olimar. I'd love to money match a top Lucario. I won't be able to make it to Apex, but I'm going to be keeping you in mind if I'm ever able to make it to a National again and you're in attendance.

Your character is amazingly fun to play imo.

Except when you pull 4 purples in a row and go on a **** train.

****ing Rich & Anuar/Minitroika

</3

I'm not a top lucario, but I am the cutest one.

is that good enough?

Good enough for me :D

It's just so hard to find Lucarios to play anymore XD I live in a region that has six, with two of them being notable Lucarios, and one that's really solid, and the other three being okay. And only one of the three solid ones will actually go Lucario on me XD I love the matchup so much, though.

Logic, Fino, And the two OUT OF COUNTRY olimars get priority just saying

Brood and Kovarish are like... once in a lifetime MMs.

I wonder if they'll even have american currency, know what a MM is, or speak enough english to understand what I'm saying though o.o

Preeeetty sure Kova would understand.

And about the grab thing, Vocal, I'm a bit confused about what you're actually trying to say.
Doesn't help that I can't watch the video right now.
If you're saying that the opponent breaks out after moving a certain distance when grabbed, how would that explain a purple grab break?
It seems to be more about the amount of time they spend away from his control zone (or something similar), but I don't really know much about this. Perhaps testing with some stage gimmicks could help explain this.
Wouldn't change the fact that people will still grab break at max pivot grab range. T_T

There are quite a few theories of why it happens, but nothing has been proven yet. It happens more often with purples.

Alright then, next question: purples deal the greatest amount of damage, correct?
No, reds do. Reds deal 24% if all hits connect.

Yours says Ice Climbers and Hilt's is PT ;-;
Haha, I've actually never had Olimar as my postbit icon. Before I put it as PT, I had it blank.
