Now you **** quit complainin that I'm not puttin up vids =p I got no one to play

It's because of videos like this that makes Falco an impossible to win MU

I've only watched the Snake and the MK so far but still nice, even if it is wifi. And that last stock on MK was pretty epic :) Also, at one point I saw Snake's uptilt horizontally outrange a purple upsmash; the wind current from his powerful thighs flew past your valaint pikmin to ***** slap you into the air :(

I've now watched the Marth video - I like :) Not a very good Marth, but I still like the video. That dair that took his second or first stock made me smile, and that ftilt kill at the end was priceless :D

Logic, Fino, And the two OUT OF COUNTRY olimars get priority just saying

Brood and Kovarish are like... once in a lifetime MMs.

I wonder if they'll even have american currency, know what a MM is, or speak enough english to understand what I'm saying though o.o
Two? Greward, Zulu, and Scarhi spit in your face.

Preeeetty sure Kova would understand.

And about the grab thing, Vocal, I'm a bit confused about what you're actually trying to say.
Doesn't help that I can't watch the video right now.
If you're saying that the opponent breaks out after moving a certain distance when grabbed, how would that explain a purple grab break?
It seems to be more about the amount of time they spend away from his control zone (or something similar), but I don't really know much about this. Perhaps testing with some stage gimmicks could help explain this.
Wouldn't change the fact that people will still grab break at max pivot grab range. T_T
Nice theory...I'm makin a trip to PS2 later today :D

how do i do a reverse up smash? XD
Alright, I'll try to explain this better than I did last time ^_^ I'll give instructions for moving left, you can just reverse them for the right. And btw "/" is going to represent moving the control stick to the upper right corner. Ok, so you're running left, right? So far the input is

Now, to begin the reverse upsmash, you have to input a pivot, meaning you smash to the right. So now the input looks like

THEN

Once you smash to the right, what you're going to do is roll the control stick upwards, so it should go from right, to the upper right corner, to all the way up. Looks like

THEN
→ / ↑

You have to roll the control stick pretty quickly. All that's left is to hit A right when the control stick is tilted all the way up. You can hold A if you want to charge it. So all together it's

THEN
→ / ↑A

Please tell me I did a better job this time lol ^_^;

Your character is amazingly fun to play imo.

Except when you pull 4 purples in a row and go on a **** train.

I'm not a top lucario, but I am the cutest one.

is that good enough?
Well there is Wifi player CutestLilLucario :p

Good stuff Hilt! I hope you got some videos recorder :D

What about me .
Lol Tin I don't think of Canada as foreign in my mind ^_^

Are you sure? It seemed like you were too far away for the purple to hit, and I definitely saw it jump

You forgot to add the jump cancel part <.<''

I didn't forget, I purposefully left it out; I didn't want to complicate things with the technicality lol ^_^

And thank you for telling me that, life just got easier :D

Finally, I decided to test that pivot grab break stuff I've been talking about on PS2 (cuz o da ice) and made a video (sorry for the low quality):

Olimar's Pivot Grab Break

Apparently I was right in thinking it has to do something with how far the pikmin must carry the opponent. If I pivot grabbed just as I was passing Marth, the pikmin would grab him but would not have to carry him anywhere; Oli continued to slide while the pikmin stayed in place and held its grab (and you can still throw afterwards).

As you can see in the video, however, every time the pikmin tries to carry the opponent over a long distance, it results in a grab break. (I'm assuming this distance is shorter for purples, which explains why they break most often.) The only pikmin this does not occur with is white; they seem to have a faster carrying speed than all of the others, so this may be related to why.

Actually, now that I think about it, maybe that's the answer: pikmin can only carry for so long. If they don't reach Oli by a certain point while carrying they just drop the character. Since purples move slower than all other pikmin, this would also be a possible explanation for why they break the most. And white's superior carrying speed allows it to always reach Oli in the time allotted.

Just theories

That theory there is very interesting and my deserve more testing. hmmm...

If it's true than it definetly should be added to Hilt's Pikmin research thread.

In the jawn, with the jawn.
Honestly Vocals theory sounds more logical than anything we've thought about before. But it needs to be tested further before we view it as "a hapens because of b" but none the less good find voc.
I still wanna mm flamewavek

Yea, those are the kinds of grabs that make me have doubts :/ One difference I can notice is that the pikmin in your video and the pikmin in grab breaks move at two different speeds; the breaking pikmin always move at nearly half that speed, so maybe it's the carry time theory as opposed to the distance theory. Still don't know what makes them move slow sometimes though :/

I'd play you, but I don't really consider myself that good of an Olimar and I can't claim to know the Lucario mu that well, so I don't know how helpful it'd be :)

And guys, have any of you ever heard of a Samus called Panic? He just ***** me on wifi, repeatedly. I mean like THREE STOCKED...again and again and again...i almost cried ;-;

You can see him play here if you don't know him (and no, that's not me in any of his videos).

And don't anyone say "just throw pikmin" if you care to live.

If you don't know who cutestlillucario is you probably wouldn't get the joke.

*has been mistaken for him like 305035039503 times by randoms back in the day when he played ladder*

<.<

but to answer your question, I've been told I look like I'm twelve =>

The Hat kinda adds to the effect.

Samus ***** me on wifi, repeatedly.
And don't anyone say "just throw pikmin" if you don't want to get angry text.
Just play offline and throw pikmin. Maybe throw out a Fsmash once in a while.
I beat one of the best ones at a recent tournament (just in case he name searches) when I was half out of my mind without even knowing the match-up.
You're Olimar. You have NO excuse.

BTW. Pikmin 2 was better. Get at me.

BTW #2. STOP WHINING, TIN MAN.

BTW #3. FlameWave, I could SWEAR that I've played you on wifi, but you used Snake or something.
I'm not sure, though. Do you even play Snake? :<

Ok guys, I've got a whole slew of new things to share with you, so bear with me, it's all good stuff. Well, except for the first one.

1) Earlier today, my world ended. I think I saw Mario's jab clank with a purple upsmash O_O Please, someone test this and prove me wrong.

2) We need to start using grounded tether as a throw followup. Not all the time, mind you, but as a mixup. Here's the way it works: you dthrow or uthrow the person, wait for him to air dodge/DI/whatever, walk/run forward on the ground and then tether - voila. It seems risky in words, but it was working. Speaking of which, grounded tether has been working a lot lately period. I feel we need to start using this as a mixup more often.

3) I have good news about Falco's jab!! I still haven't found a way to beat it (**** jab), but I've found a way to deter Falcos from jabbing you. I was playing a Falco and of course I got jabbed, but I've been trying a lot of weird **** today (more on that later) so I decided to try to dtilt while I was getting jabbed. Unfortunately, it didn't beat it, but here's the good part: it beat his followup. And I tried this multiple times. Every time I started getting jabbed, I spam the input for dtilt, and every time it hit him before he could follow up with anything. I still want someone to test this on everything he can do next (especially the move where he steps slightly forward and jabs again) but I have a feeling this is a great thing :) If it does beat all of his followups, this will still open the door for him to shield afterwards, but this gives us a 50/50 guessing game of whether he'll shield or we can dtilt, and that's much better than what it is right now :p

4) Guys, WE MUST START USING FTILT. Seriously. After seeing it in one of Fino's videos yesterday, I decided to play around with it and see if it's useful, and it REALLY is. Probably fsmashes greatest flaw is that it lacks priority - ftilt does not have this problem. (I'm also willing to bet that it beats some aerials too.) In addition, ftilt is quick (at least as quick as fsmash) and though the range is smaller, range isn't what it's about with this move. And it's packs a pretty powerful punch too. I haven't used it enough to say specifically all the situations it's great for, but it was working wonders for me today. I'm going to keep playing with it and name more specific uses, but THIS MOVE HAS HUGE POTENTIAL.

5) This is pretty much a continuation of the last one, but it's so special it deserves its own number. Have you ever been ftilted by a Diddy Kong while one the ledge? Well now you can do the same thing :) That's right ladies and gentlemen - FTILT HITS PEOPLE HANGING ON THE LEDGE! What's even greater is the way it hits them; ftilt has a lower trajectory than even fsmash, so if you hit someone with this while they're on the ledge, they're going to go flying away far and low - **** YEA!

Feel free to rejoice.

Oh yea, and I want someone to test if ftilt can hit people that not only are on the ledge, but just below it as well; I doubt it, but I'd still feel better if it was looked into.

It's nice to see that you're always posting new stuff for the metagame Vocal. When you become a top oli and start using all your crazy ideas people will take note and you yourself will progress the Oli metagame.

That said, in your post above there you implied that ftilt had almost as much range as fsmash? Ok what game are you playing?

I love the tidbit about Falco's jab and dtilt. It's really good since I think Falco rarely shields after a jab anyway.

If I can ever start playing smart (and rolling less) I'll be a top Oli eventually :D

You're right about ftilt; I kinda got over-excited and started remembering things incorrectly ^_^ I changed that part. Still, the range is good, and it's got the one thing fsmash doesn't - priority. I really want to start testing this and see what all it can outprioritize now.

And I liked the jab tidbit too :)

Oh, and general question: how the hell are you supposed to dtilt a G&W turtle? I was trying earlier and it just was not cooperating; am I just timing it wrong or does it require a certain spacing?

falco can shine after jab, that will beat dtilt. And like vocal, wouldn'tu have to DI away and then Dtilt instead of just mashing Dtilt. If falco just repeteadly did his 1st and 2nd jab (alternating), he would carry us pretty far with that i assume.

most falcos try to follow up on their jabs. But yes if a falco figured out u are just going to dtilt then yes ud have to DI

Oh, he doesn't even have to take step? I was worried about something like that. And Shine isn't very nice either. Well, I guess it's not an answer to everything, though it might possibly have a use if only used occasionally.

I just watched fino play the snake. I talked to Rich Brown a while back and he told me something that he learned off playing DEHF an assload of times. Jab when u grab. ALWAYS. Never really saw fino do it once in that match. Also i think at the end of the smashville match, if he didn't uthrow with the blue, but like Bthrow or fthrow, it might have killed. Finally, like Rich Brown says, don't stale ur kill throws, so like don't uthrow with yellows and stuff. Save the uthrow for purples, and b/fthrow for blues

on a side note, when playing some matches, i always get frustrated when my smashes are getting shielded as I'm ready to kill. Purple uthrow has become like my savior so yeah, it really helps a lot, and with 2 vastly different kill options, life is so much easier.

another side not: I've only played 2 player Pikmin 2, and a lil 1 player when i was at a friend house. waiting for it to release on Wii to play it. Played Pikmin 1 on wii, beat it on my 1st try, no having to replay the entire game xD. Whend does Pikmin 3 release?

final side note: LOL at marios jab beating usmash.

Hey, I said I think I saw it. I don't believe it could happen myself, I just wanna be sure. Moves have weird priorities in this game. Maybe I should've just kept my mouth shut on it though
