No, I've never been to the ICs social, I just decided to start learning them last night and I'm not all too sure I'm committed to them really. I still might make it to their social sometime though :)

That video was uploaded two days ago and already has 141,896 views. IT'S JUST SO EPIC I DON'T HAVE THE WORDS

So..much...WIN

edit: I've got a real question for you guys, two actually.

1) Is it possible to DI/SDI out of Diddy's dash attack to safety (or a more safe position)?

2) If so, which direction - towards or away from?

Oh my god. Everyone - STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING IMMEDIATELY.

I have found...possibly the greatest Olimar player in the world. Everyone here is good. But I bring you Gonta. He is Japanese, and he is better than I could ever imagine.

DISK(Marth) vs Gonta(Olimar)

My jaw dropped at :37

I gasped at 1:10

I CAME at 3:15

It's like's Llumys' instant return but done 1,000,000 times better :O

I'm going to realize that I've way excited right now and I may be over-exaggerating his skill, especially relative to America's top Olimars. Regardless, this man plays Olimar in a way that I can only dream of. It's like, if I ever pictured Olimar being played near perfectly, this is what it would look like. Almost EVERYTHING is done right - the spacing, the pikmin maintenance and control, the prediction and followups

I think I'm going to go sit in shock some more

And you can find more of his videos here under Olimar.

kel marth vs gonta olimar And here's him ****** some American Marth who has moved to Japan. That tech at :49 is sexy. He starts abusin the hell out of that instant return at around 2:50. And I also like this guy because that edge-tether trick I "discovered" a week or two ago was actually found by him more than a year ago (see 1:11).

Finally, one more video of him playing Kel again, except Kel goes MK. kel mk vs gonta olimar - I'll let the video speak for itself.

Oh, and Kel has moved back to America since then it seems

I have found...the greatest Olimar player in the world. Logic, Rich, Grew, Hilt, Fino, L, Dabuz - all good players (sorry if I missed one, there are a lot of you). But none of you compare to Gonta. He is Japanese, and he is better than every single one of us.

What do you mean...my "kind" (un)
I think Fino's making a reference to TL's questionable preferences that's kinda linked to one of the memes around here, don't read too much into it ;) Another question about SDI for you guys; I'm nowhere near this good, but I'd just like to know is this possible:

1) On a two/three hit move that hits you while you're standing on the ground, is it possible to SDI up on the first/second hit, then SDI down on the second/third in order to tech the ground?

I doubt it, I think what would happen if u went to the ground is that you would be in a hitstun animation while on the ground. Think Falco spiking someone from a chain grab at low percent. The animation the opponent is doing on the ground will probably be what will happen to you. I've also SDI'd down from Zelda's Usmash and I was in the same animation.

Official BBR Recommended Rule List 3.0

New ruleset guys. I'm about to read it.

Oh my god. I just read that Final Destination can't be a starter unless Castle Siege is

:O

I think I'm gonna like this.

Oh my god again. Look at these highlights from the new counter pick list:

Counterpick
Luigi's Mansion
Norfair
Pokémon Stadium 2
Port Town Aero Dive
Distant Planet
Jungle Japes
Green Greens

Counter/Banned
Yoshi's Island (Melee)
Pirate Ship

Every stage that was legal is the last ruleset is legal in this one as well. On other notes, they've removed the Bowser Klaw rule and have stated they're firmly against LGLs. Also, they've got a section after the ruleset explaining the new stage choices.

Oh yea, someone show me how to do that pikmin glitch on Green Greens, yea? And I've gotta learn how to abuse Distant Planet - Olimar's time to shine (h)

This is what happens when you let over half of the community into a group (regardless of skill or actual knowledge) that was supposed to be comprised of elite smashers.

Yea that's pretty lame. Gonna have to start playing on DP now to test it out lol.
If you haven't already you've been missing out on a REALLY good Oli stage (except for that darn stone pillar section).

And Jane, it's mostly people complaining that MK has even more CPs now. The stagelist is fine imo, he's just the only one who breaks it.

^I spy one +1 for Distant Planet ;)

How hard was it to keep that little nugget away from us?

edit: So I'm watching a video about DDD's chaingrabs on slopes, Distant Planet included, and it got me to thinking: what if we could chain grab fast fallers like the spacies and Snake to the walkoff aka death? I don't know hitstun data, or at what point they will be able to jump before they hit the ground again but I feel this is worth looking into. Or maybe not; I'm sure someone will prove me wrong if so ^_^

Being the most hated
ugh, time to post my opinions >_>

pirate ship is dumb overall because in an intense match it can be hard to see a hazard, and the floaty part+water camping just isn't fair

PS2's physics changes are way to drastic, often changing entire characters and MUs because of how much the stage effects the game

norfair is norfair, gay but people too stubborn to get rid of it

even though my character benefits way too much from luigi's mansion, i still would wanna see it banned, the fact that entire MUs will be played around abusing the stage is way too much

im happy to see PTAD

japes is japes, lol, dumb stage, hate it but can't find a good reason to say its ban-able

distant planet=dumb in general, basically in some MUs a character literally can only play on the middle of the stage otherwise they will get instant death by CG, also the bottom of the slope is a very broken camping spot for a lot of characters

i have only played green greens in a serious set once and my character can't really be abused by it, no opinion

yoshi's island melee...ugh, its probably not going to ever be seen in tourney sets anyway

I thought stages were supposed to give advantages to characters but not over-centralize meta-games, apparently i have been wrong this whole time

new suicide rules are meh

and finally, mk has no ledge grab limit...wtf
