Ok, I was just reading through the last few posts, and I saw this idea -

"Clean Trash talk"

Wow. Wtf. I'm speechless. Do you guys realize what you are saying? I mean, CLEAN TRASHTALK! LOOOOLLLLL. The phrase is so **** absurd I don't need to say anything about it.

Edit: I thought of something to say. You guys are so ****ing hypocritical this **** is making me sick. Once the tournament ends, all of a sudden I see 74321854237 M2K supporters. Tell me where were you guys during MLG NY? Or where were you during any of the tournaments that M2K tells me about when the crowd hates him?

And most importantly, where were you guys at Pound2? If you all felt so badly for M2K, why did no body step up to the plate to support him and trash talk back? The fact is you guys did nothing to support him, for whatever reason, and now you're stuck feeling guilty about it. But now, behind the safety of your computer, you have all have a chance to redeem yourself by pointing the finger at me. No, it wasn't your fault for not helping your friend when he needed you, it was my fault for being loud, obnoxious, vulgar, personal, and whatever other words you can think of to throw at me. Get outta here with that **** garbage.

Peace
Because everyone is a conformist that wants to be liked by total strangers. Forward I would have had his back if I was at those two tournaments. Well Forward I have no problem with trash talk without trash talk this game is basically Pong but leave personal strikes outta it.

Seriously, i want everyone to just quit bickering. Do it somewhere else. Everyone complaining is giving people a negative image of the tournament, and i don't like that.

I busted my *** for this ****, so take the negative comments elsewhere.

Thanks

Yeah, I'd really like other people to just stop with this whole conversation. Lets just do shoutoutz/everything else relevant to the tournament.

I would hate for this thread to get closed because of something like this.

Edit: Vericz is too good. Yes lets get videos!!

This **** is funny.

Sean why is it that whenever you guys go out of state no one can ever handle the trash talk? If everyone takes a game soooo seriously that trashtalking causes an uproar then something is wrong.

Hell...thats the reason why I go to tourneys here in AZ, the trashtalking. Its all mindgames. mindGAMES.

Fun tournament.

I don't have a problem with trashtalking in game.

I do have a problem with trashtalking after games and such, because often that can lead to fightin words.

@Forward - right before I left I noticed you had pulled out a harmonica, I was tempted to join you with my own, but then I realized you could actually play to some degree, and I didn't want to embarress myself. XP also lol @ predicting how that match would end with Taj.

Darc - roll rest is too good you ***** my sheik.

Posting for the good of the community...

Here's a solution for anyone who can't handle trash talking...

...buy some ear plugs...

I don't know what Forward, or any of the others said, but if you can't take it and can't learn to ignore it...then buy some bad *** ear plugs.

Or listen to music with some thick headphones.

Unless those are illegal in some rules that I've never seen...I could be wrong.

Either way, seems like some good **** went down, wish I could have made it.

Congrats to Chu.

First off: http://www.mlgpro.com/?q=node/139883

Post singles article is up. Doubles will be up later this week. Still not sure what I'm gonna write about the forfeits...

"Fortunately for ChuDat, two X-factors seemed to be playing to his advantage during the whole match. First, the crowd seemed largely in ChuDat’s favor, as two cheering leaders in Chillindude829 and Forward kept the energy high. Second, Mew2King appeared off his game most of the day, having close games with opponents he normally outclasses by a significant margin. With ChuDat already playing at an extraordinarily high level and these two factors working in his favor, there was almost no way he could lose. That Mew2King brought the match to the fifth game was simply a testament to his skill."

From the article. For MLG articles, btw, Match = set. Game = 1 game. lols. I'm not allowed to say set, sigh.

As for cheering/trash talk: Allow it. ChuDat had to deal with it almost all of last season while he was dating Helen. Ken had to deal with it when he was in New York. It's been around for awhile, its a part of the community, that things sometimes turn mad personal maybe isn't the best, but the personal attacks are simply a reflection of the person making them and their view on the game/their own personallity. One possible solution is that players buy headphones with noise canceling. Then plug these headphones into the TV. You can even buy a splitter so each player can use headphones, and in the extreme case of Mew2King, maybe he should purchase two so no opponant feels like they cant hear the game (because the sound gets routed to only the headphones, usually, when you plug them in). Just an idea, honestly, if the Smash crowd wasn't what it was...we would look like we were watching Halo. Do any of you remember the "AAZZENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN" cheer? Geez, can you imagine how Ken felt with 20 people screaming that 5 feet behind his head? The better you get, the more pressure you will have from the crowd, this is something that the better players should come to expect and learn to cope with, I think Jiano was probably the one most affected by the crowd because he had probably never been in that type of situation before. Mew2King at least has some crowd experiance because hes been through mulitple championship matches and many large, large tournaments (and ChuDat has similar experiance). In Halo 2, two weekends ago at the Meadowlands, Carbon lost to Final Boss. You know what some of their players said? They blamed the crowd for loving Final Boss and hating on them. You know what xXx, their couch, and Shockwave, their captain, though? BS. Look for the answers inside yourself before you blame external factors. Yes, Mew2King was off, yes the crowd affected him, but no, it isn't the crowd's fault for being loud or obnoxious, that is the inherant nature of the crowd. Its up to the players to keep a calm mind and to stay focused amongst all the ruckus.

Also, not sure why there aren't any photos, I sent some good ones over to Dyslexia but I guess they didn't feel like publishing them or, more likely, there wasn't enough time to get it ready with the big MLG Canada announcement.

Its up to the players to keep a calm mind and to stay focused amongst all the ruckus. Usually the best way to quiet a negative crowd is to come out strong from the gates and demolish the competition. Then you only need to play well for 1 stock, or 1 game, instead of the entire match. Watch any NBA game where the home team gets run out of the building. The crowd is energetic at first, but once they feel there isn't any hope it gets quiet as a church.

I agree, Cort would have won! >_> But he would've missed his ride maybe and be stranded in MD for another couple days. The brackets were so silly.

I wish I could play with you kids again but I am not going to FC and most likely not the md/va area anytime soon. I would do shoutouts but I don't remember everyone and I'm pretty sure nobody remembers face with my name. I will play with you kids again sometime... someday.

lol moment of the day for me at pound2
Mathos comes up to me and points at my pants and was like, "WOW, it's so small. It's like *makes a one inch size with his fingers* this big!" He was talking about my shuffle but someone behind me might have thought he was making a rude stereotypical joke. LOL

I guess I can try to post some Shoutouts.

Sensei- You should've continued to have just learned how to wavedash for the rest of our set, it's more fun that way XD. transitioning from not knowing how to wd to waveshining into pulsewalks... You're going to heck for that one =p.

PC Chris- Even though you probably sandbagged that first match, was the most fun I had playing a fox for some reason, even the ensuing **** after that first match.

Doll - Your peach is the craziest thing I've seen besides probably yourself as a person =P.

Forward - wtf is wrong with your sheik dude. That ***** was drunk out her mind.

Linguini and Bushman - I'm mad that I managed to lose both ganon matches at the last stock with both characters at high percents, but good stuff, they were fun matches none-the-less XD. But yeah, fun *** close matches Linguini

Taj - f your mewtwo s***. =p

Cort - Had fun getting teh **** from all your characters. It was interesting to say the least. Thanks for tolerating the friendlies.

Bigy- I really wish our team was as good on the first day as it was on the second >=o!! Oh well, we'll get'em at FC. I'll never forgive you for stealing my friendly from pc. But I forgive you. <3

Lain - Was cool having you there, glad you're -almost- some competition now =P.

Dan - I can't remember if that's your name but thanks for housing us, you win best host of the year award! Bringing out my contacts at the last second is WAAY appreciated. We'll be back >=]

XIF- XD, thanks for the Pika cheering section XD. Too funny. At least I think that was you x_X;

Boss - nice friendlies dood =P. I couldn't find you after those though. strange.

I'll edit later... bout to get myself fired.

Great tournament to say the least. Definitely the most exciting smash event I've been to in a long time.

I didn't do so hot when it came down to the singles pools but I was certain that I had enough wins to make it out (1st round). But then I found out from JV that the pools were done by number of sets won and not by the number of matches won (I had three 1-2 sets) so I ended up not making it out. I hadn't seen this explained in the rules anywhere. I was definitely disappointed and surprised but I'll have to just keep a look out next time. Also, :( @ only being allowed to do 2v1s for teams since my partner wasn't there on sunday.

Shout-outs:

Aho- nice friendlies and good job repping md mang

Big C- you got me saying all these midwest sayings now lol.

Big D/CunningKitsune/5150/Juke- it was cool housing you guys. Thanks for insight on the midwest sayings and all... I'll see you at FC.

Cactuar- lolz @ the cactuar doll

Chu- Wobbling is banning and you still take first place??? Too good mangz

DaShizWiz- nice matches mang, I was hoping to play your falco but its all good. Nice job repping FL too

d20- Your ylink is gave me such a hard time! Good matches man, hope to play you again sometime.

Drephen- I meant to take your luigi challenge, but I'll be too at FC so its all good. Nice job in singles btw.

DosV- too good!

Foward- nice meeting the other half of arizOWNa  Hopefully we'll get some matches in or something at FC.

G-reg- I still have a emptyness that only a falcon ditto between you and jiano etc could fill.

Grillz- favorite NJ smasher! I only got to play you in those team matches, but its always cool hanging with you.

Jiano- I meant to get some matches in with you since we couldn't do our team set.

KM- you're still too good man. I hope to see and play you sometime soon.

Linguini- nice matches man, you had me crazy nervous brah. See you at FC

NEO- it was fun teaming etc. wish you couldve been there on sunday tho.

NKK- good friendlies dude

Omni- sucks we couldn't have you be my partner on sunday. oh wellz, we'll have to get more than one friendly in next time.

PC Chris- broken *** team man, broken *** team LOL

Phish-it- Nice friendlies man

Plank- nice job hosting the tournament. I'll see you at the next sheezy mang.

Splode- friendlies were too goodzzzz

Taj- It was too good housing you for the weekend. Thanks for all the matches, tips, anime sheezy, and good laughs. I'll see you at FC mang and let me know if you ever head back to md/va
