Umm ok, that makes little to no sense whatsoever.

It was meant as a joke! It was unnecessary, but so was you posting that message. And it was no trouble. And it does make sense, the Darth Vader NO is obviously an internet meme, as is the Song, as it was used for the infamous "Myspace Suicide". If you know that, it will make more sense.

You think I don't know he's accomplished a lot? XD He's arguably the best Smasher in the United States, and I personally believe that to be the case. And I'm the FIRST person to admit I'm not very talented. I'm mediocre AT BEST! This is no personal jab, it was meant as a lighthearted joke, which it IS.

I'm not trying to embarass PC Chris, either. And I don't know him personally, but that doesn't mean I know nothing about him.

I won't call you PC's *****, that would be childish.

That entire post of yours could be considered childish. You just listed off a bunch of falsehoods. And you were really acting like a hypocrite, saying:

That's what you attempted to do to me. You know nothing about me, nor anything about my sense of humor.

I was not attacking anybody in ANY way. It was you who attacked me, and called me childish. Your post was pretty hypocritical. Grow up.

Note: There is no hostility coming from me.
Okay, okay, you've seen through our veil, we all actually thought it was really funny, and agree with you. We were just denying it to ourselves. On behalf of PC and the smashboards forums, I present you with the response you were looking for:

lol

Thanks to Fonz for housing us.

Hyuga: *Fist Shake* I'm double blinding next time. You think your so smart with your thunder kicking me in the dome. Next time, I'm wearing a rubber helmet. How about them ****ing apples, huh? =P

Chillendude: This guy with his silly 3rd seed and then fro-eing me. You!

Kaiser: You should have just went Marth on YS. You would have froed me.

Darc: We both got 33rd, are right next to each other on the rankings, and main Jiggs. SUPER LULZ. You froed teams. GJ (nothing like shoutouts to people I didn't actually meet).

Forward: Douchebag.

Jiano: Way to aparently froe the 8 hour drive in 5 hours all by yourself. I went to sleep and woke up at home. I was like, wtf?!

Also GJ getting 3rd. Bad job losing a match to Hyuga. Why do I even play you if you're going to lose to other Jiggs? GEEZ.

Watty: My vengeance will be swift and just. Sleep with your eyes open. >=)

I have homework to do, so if I didn't mention you, get super offended and yell at me the next time you see me, and perhaps even glare at me very meanly.

m2k, tone down those johns. I almost fell backwards from sheer johnadge!
m2k was definitely defeated by the crowd. I think this tournament pulls up an extreme case of why the crowd should remain silent or keep the cheering to a reasonable level rather than getting out of hand.

I'm aware that "coaching" is discouraged, and I think crowd harassment should be discouraged as well. Rooting for one player is ok, but putting the other player down is not.

The crowd is always going to be there. There is always going to be people who get out of hand. Its just something you have to deal with. I'm surprised that a really good player like M2K cant handle it. I figure that all the better players could.

Some thoughts

First off, thanks to Plank, JV, and the rest of the staff for running this tournament, you guys did a great job, seriously.

Shout outs:

You: Hey, it was really cool chillin with you. I liked that one thing you did at the tournament, haha that was great! Too bad we didn't get to hang out more though, oh well, there is always next time. Peace!

:)

After this was all over, I had to ask myself, did I take it too far? Maybe M2K and others are right. Well after thinking about I realized that no, I didn't take it too far. I said some mean **** to PC, and what did he do? He said some mean **** right back. Hell ya, kudos to Chris for being able to stick up for himself and handle the situation. If Chris can handle it, so can anybody else that felt they were a victim.

Step it up or cry more.

Peace

i agree with mow
i stopped cheering for chu during the final set because things were becoming out of hand. m2k may be making johns but they're legit, imo. only person who could probably handle the **** m2k was getting thrown is probably pc chris, because of his experience with DA. hence, he was able to talk **** back to a rude spectator without really affecting his game.

besides, what does being pale have to do with smash? -_-

i mean
i can be loud and stupidly obnoxious
but there's a pretty distinct line between supporting a player and attacking the other

dont say that ppl weren't going too far unless u think u can personally handle someone calling u ugly and fat while you're playing one of the most intense sets of the tournament

attacking someone like that kinda wrecks the atmosphere. things go from friendly to ugly

just my two cents

i don't get why "lol you missed an el cancel" would be considered crossing the line and "putting a player down"

from what i could hear forward was being loud and obnoxious, but so what? smash is supposed to be a social and fun game first, competitive second; it's not freaking golf where we all have to shut up while someone tries to do a wall-infinite or something

To me (and i could be wrong, but this is strictly what I think), the main thing here is that mew2king feels he was betrayed by forward, who he considered to be a friend, and that is what rattled him the most. If random joe schmo from montana was yelling the same things, I don't think m2k would have griped about it much, if at all

It's not like forward was talking about m2k's mom or something; he was commenting on his smash play, which is exactly the kind of trash talk that SHOULD be allowed

it went beyond what was going on the screen, that's why there's controversy
lolololol m2k is so pale omg lawl
totally relevant to m2k missing an l-cancel, right?
i dont know where u were during the set, but the **** talking went past the game
it's not social and fun when who you thought was your friend talks about how you're cooped up in your basement 24/7 and need to get more sunlight

Except Forward was talking **** about M2K playing in a basement.

I have nothing against Forward and I think some of his **** was hilarious, but I don't like all of it.

well apologies then. I just tuned forward out after the first game or two, at which point he was only making fun of him for missing l-cancels and failing edgeguards

i know when i go to east coast i expect trash talk. I know i have lost matches due to people screaming in my ear from DA or whatever. But you can't always enforce that kinda stuff so you might as well just get used to it. How do you overcome trash talk? Either trash talk back personally like pc did or have someone else trash talk for you like your crew. M2K doesn't have any friends to trash talk for him? Thats his fault and his own problem. I do not like m2k cause he was an ******* to me and i know he has to many other people. So its his own problem that he has so many people rooting against him. Another way is m2k could just tune it out, its hard but possible. So no johns and focus on the match.

With this post I am taking no sides just posting opinion on how I see things.

With Smash being sponsored by a league and all you could consider it a sporting event. There has always been cheering throughout sporting events and always will be minus golf. Every player has a team in this case the team being a single player. There is also the team that almost everyone hates just because they are too good. In the smash community this used to be ken, now that ken doesn't go to many OOS tournies M2K has taken this position now. M2K is too good most everyone roots against him because no one like to see the person expected to win. This argument was brought up by WC at MLG NY (first event last season of MLG) where everyone but like 3 people were rooting against Ken. There were even people like Mr. Anden Hellsinky sp? who thought it was BS how the crowd was all against Ken, so they were cheering for Ken. The cheering is all good when it's back and forth for different people, people only complain when everyone is against them. In my opinion people that can't deal with cheering against them should play with music cheering will more than likely always be a part of smash tournies

This was quite fun. I learned a lot, and I'll have to step it up if I want to be anything more than "lol, he plays low tiers" to people.

Shoutouts will come later. In the meantime, thanks to anyone who gave this random Alabama player a second glance, let alone a first.

no ones against the cheering for whoever u want. however, insulting someone, booing them, or making fun of them during the match is distracting, no matter how much u may want to tune it out, it does affect u. i know it would affect me negatively the same way someone cheering for me would affect me positively.

It's kinda good for M2K that people were **** talking against him and that he may have felt he lost cause of it. This will probably motivate M2K to get even better at the game to the point you could be screaming in his ear and he'll still win a tourney. "Unless they were already doing that"

I would of expected the smash community to be more mature than to **** talk to that level. Feels like people aren't even posting half the stuff that was actually said bout him.

P. C. Chris is not emo. Otherwise he would have cried and whined and listened to something corperate (P.C please tell me you don't listen to them) when he lost to M2K. In my opinion, he took the loss rather well considering how close the match was.

Also, although M2K has like negative charisma, he is still a really funny and a nice guy if you get to know him. He doesn't deserve everybody cheering against him just for being ridiculously good at the game. He deserves respect simply for his skill at the game.

I have got nothing against cheering for someone, but don't go insulting their opponent especially when your insults have nothing to do with smash.

The reason I like the smash community so much is that its very friendly. I would really hate to lose that notion.

I'm not near as good as them. If I was that good and have been to as many tourneys as they have I'm sure I would be able to handle some of the pressure. These guys are professionals and they should be able to cope with these kinds of things.

just because they're professionals at a video game doesn't mean they're not human

besides, i think m2k handled "some of the pressure" pretty well o.o i'm pretty sure there are people who would have broken down and cried after the two sets if they were in his place

then what's the difference from me coming right next to Chu and yelling DIRECTLY into his ear? while i'm at it, how about i stand right next to the tv and do the Carlton while i'm at it?

at LEAST 50 people were DIRECTLY behind M2K and Chu during the finals match screaming at the top of their lungs. i would say that equates to me yelling directly in someone's ear. a pro mlg smasher should not have to feel claustrophobic in their own seat. since i was right behind M2K, i know the loudness of the crowd was at a point where i'm sure M2K could barely hear himself think. it's not professional at all. if you wanna make some noise, then give the players some space. and a player's skill level should have nothing to do with their ability to focus on blocking out a disrespectful crowd.

with any sport that takes extreme concentration, silence is mandatory. if the crowd can't control themselves and not go at extremes when it comes to "cheering", then a rule should be made to keep everyone in check. there is a line and it was clearly crossed on Sunday.

Its not a matter of if they should be able to cope with it or not, they shoudln't have to in the first place, forward was taking personal stabs at him and being overly loud and obnoxious. Yeah if it were just for fun a few times it was pretty funny, but yelling it that loud and stuff and seeing that it was clearly affecting his game then doing it even louder and more is just assholish. Forward lost mad respect from my crew who really loves his falco because of this. Cheering against mew2king is fine, first off everyone usually cheers for the underdog anyways and we were in MD/VA area so thats to be expected, but as some one brought up before the ken thing. Yeah he didn't get cheered for but i'm sure people weren't taking personal stabs at ken saying stuff about him being asian or something, espically overly loudly and in front of anyone during grand finals. Like my crewmate bass said "mew2king isn't the type to defend himself so why do this?" I say trash talk that takes personal stabs at some one (weather it be being a nerd or race or being fat or ugly or something) while they are in a match is taking it too far and some one should step in, shout outs later work soon ><

shooting clutch free throws? kicking a field goal at the end of the 4th quarter? hitting with a full count in the bottom of the 9th? even PKs in soccer?

come on; in the most widely accepted and popular sports, crowd noise is MANDATORY if it is the opposing player on the spot and you think throwing him off would help you win the game

what sports were you thinking of? golf? tennis? a big reason those sports aren't very popular in america (as spectator sports anyway) is because you can't really get into it, and as americans we want to be pumped up for who we're cheering for and even if we don't intend to go all-out with our cheering, know that we could if we truly wanted to

Word to pockyD. The crowd is there, you deal with it.

How about this, next major tournament has a bleacher section that the crowd must sit in? That way the players don't have to see faces in their peripheral vision who are talking ****, and if even if the loudest person was in the front row, they'd still be a good 10, 15, 20 or whatever feet away from the players, so they're not shouting in their ears.
