OK, it has come to my attention this thread exists and some of you don't know how to behave.

No talking about sex. A large portion of our users are under the age of consent and, subsequently, it is against the rules. I know Ken's Peach theory and gay people play Peach, yadda yadda, but if you want to talk about sex or things closely related to it, do it over PMs or AIM but don't do it here. First and last warning about this, no exceptions.

I don't think some of you understand the concept of the board rules: don't break them.

If you want to protest them, go to Forum Support and tell the other upper staff you disagree with the rule. We'll always bring it up in the Senate and discuss it.

The no sex rule is analogous to the no drugs rule. While it may be perfectly legal for you, it is not for others and, therefore, MLG does not want those topics brought up in the thread. This says nothing about my opinion of you and whether or not you are mature enough to handle such a topic. It says the people who own the site, for liability reasons, want the topic to be avoided and all of you have agreed to it when you signed up.

John: I am moderating. It has nothing to do with 'chilling out' and every other admin would be doing the same thing if this was brought to them first.

If you want to talk about sex you are more than welcome, you just can't do it here.

Nowhere in here does it say we can't talk about sex. If an individual posts something "excessively vulgar or graphic" or "sexually explicit" then that is breaking the rules, but talking about sex or preferences is not.

don't try to fight the losing battle, the "law" has spoken and you aren't going to loophole your way out of it

besides, shy of these past few days with OTG, not like we ever really spent much time on the subject anyway.

We're all potentially young teenages as far as MLG is concerned and as such the rules are defined to be appropriate for people of that age group. I know, sucks for the Melee community that's almost all college aged or older, but forum rules are forum rules and the very stuff that Sveet is quoting is pretty clearly being violated in here (sexually explicit discussion, seriously ridiculous to contest that there's sexually explicit discussion going on in here).

If everyone's totally into this conversation, just find a new medium for it, but as smashboards rules are laid out, it's inappropriate for here.

Went back and read the last 20 or so pages. I'm not going to go back and infract any one, just keep the thread in line. If you want to talk about relationships and dating, that's perfectly fine. However, saying:

What exactly is the problem here? Have you read the forum rules? Do you understand the spirit behind them?

SWF doesn't have a problem with you have a sub-community that gets together and talks about your sex lives or your drug use or whatever else you're in to, but it does have a problem with posting content that is deemed inappropriate for younger members. What's the problem with shifting the discussion that's in violation of these rules to a skype chat? Seriously baffles me why this is so upsetting to you.
