My current thoughts on Nefarious's videos:
you space and time your u-airs really well, and edge guard effectively, mixing up side-B with aerials to keep him off the edge.
You don't really space with d-smash a lot (maybe that's just my play style), but when you use it, you hardly ever whiff or even hit shield.
You do a pretty good job with recovering, except when you got hit with that purple on the right side of FD. That surprised me. xD
You have an insane SP game, you use each piece really effectively, and it usually got you a pretty big lead. It was also fun to watch Olimar get the hell knocked out of him repeatedly by the pieces. :D

I don't have a lot of (or any, really) experience with the Olimar MU, or I'd try and critique how you went about fighting him, but eh, I'm not even that good with ZSS anyways. :D Just trying to help by critiquing as you asked.

There were a lot more friendlies w/ kismet but i guess they arent gonna be uploaded. Most of those i just kept 1 piece of armor(i think, maybe not). He also didnt spam down b in those >.>. I vsed him this weekend in bracket and lost 2-0 but he was 110%+ in both. We went BF first round and i cp'd RC second. Im hoping we saved those but iunno if we did. If i did i'll post those later when they get transfered to the person uploading matches. Also is bf a good stage to vs falco? I usually try to take them there first round and always ban FD.

Finally have some videos for critique. I have my own thoughts on these but I want to hear everything you guys say first. Be as harsh as you like.

K guys ill throw my input on this since i co main luigi :o
I feel sorry for any luigi who has to play me in a tourney because the match up is so easy. Luigi has to focus on air game for most of the damage with a few down throw follow ups and finishes at low percents with tilted Fsmash, Up B, and Up smash (lol i revenge kill will bair a lot.) The thing about this one is keeping luigi away from you! If you hit his shield he slides way back and this happens often when using side B a lot. His fire balls are slow moving jabable, shieldable, laughble projectiles that do almost nothing. Thus said, the best way to really dig in to a luigi is to camp him which will force him into the air giving you a prime time to show him your Uair. This beats his nair and you can usually get away with it.

Another thing that is really important to use is Up tilt OoS after he is trying to dair Nair you or for that matter any air approach. Camping him plus your super speed advantage on the floor and in the air should shut him down. When you reach 80% ( yea i know its really low) watch out for the desperate and broken Tilted Fsmash!!! its ok to be afraid of it. its better to get punished for camping than to get killed when hit at 80%(of course this depends on the stage, luigi loves halberd). Honestly think of it like when you know you are in up tilt country against snake and you are staying out of its range like there is no tomorrow!

Luigi has a pesky move that both helps and hurts him...The tornado . The tornado is interesting and can come out fast and cover distance fast. it also destroys Neutral B and is too fast for side B counter. It recovers well and can punish a lot of things. So how do we get around it? *looks around* oh hey there pal long time no see OoS Uptilt. The ending lag to this move is really easy to punish. I, and i know im not the only one who does, like to lift off the ground after i reach my target and they shield. (sometimes i nair right after) Now for that recovery. K there is a generic way a lot of bad luigi players recover (80%) and then there is a small portion of luigi players that recover the smart way (20%). The easy to punish recovery is Side B --> to Jump--> to tornado. The problem with that is that the tornado lag should always be met with a fair or bair. But the smart way to recover with luigi is Side B-->to tornado--> then jump (maybe thrown in an attack)--> then Up B. Up B to grab the ledge is really hard to punish as you know . If they recover the second way , i dont think i can think of any way to punish that with out getting super risky.
So my points in the match up are

1. space as far away with side B and Neutral B as possible
2.Punish him when he gets close with OoS Up tilt when he is in the air
3. Watch out for Tilted F smash at around 80% on
4. Take Advantage of your speed in the air and ground.
5. And always be ready for a really fast tornado.

i rest my case, as i have played good zss players with my luigi and i also happen to co main the two so i know the match up. of course any one can beat zss if they PS everything (basically -__-) but i really do feel that the match up leans more towards 6-4 but isnt quite there

Thanks a bunch. The reason i approached him was because thats how i've always played against him and it used to work....somewhat. Recently though (past month or so) i've been getting ***** because of it :/. I'll try camping him more and whatnot.

Pat here are a couple things I'd say you could improve on. Keep in mind you're a more successful ZS than I am so take it for what it's worth:

You do a lot of unsafe things when you're trying to get back from the edge. It's a hard position for us definitely, so the best advice is probably just to avoid the edge, especially against MK who can basically keep us there indefinitely if played well. Like, at 2:43 on vid 2, that shoulda been a stock. At 1:40 of that vid was also very punishable.

You're also very unsafe with your paralyzer, which you use a lot. It seems like you might be used to a faster activating projectile (aurasphere lol) because you use it like it's faster than it actually is, or like you're expecting it to have more shield push back than it actually does. Examples at 1:54 and 1:57 in the second vid.

Your suitpiece game is like, atrocious. I know you could do better than that so I'm assuming you don't bother because you don't see them as much of an advantage. If you've seen any of the vids I posted a couple pages back you'll know I love the pieces, so I'd definitely recommend that you learn how to use them and be safe with them.

That being said, I have to say that your obvious strength and the reason you ***** that MK is you are a beast at keeping momentum. Like, once you get a hit or two off you'll take strings of 60% off him, consistently. You even zero to deathed him in the first vid. It seems like you're very good at making reads that land you dsmashes, and from there you were good about knocking him offstage and killing him. You seem to have difficulty taking the momentum in the first place, but I'd probably chalk that up to the matchup, since it's very difficult to get MK off balance.

I say you do a lot of risky things as well....BUT you have to if you want to beat good mk players imo. Any mk can **** a defensive MK player. Its that surprising quickness that she has that throws off other characters momentum. Being risky of course can be punished and take a stock, but it can also reward you with unpredictable play styles , Confusing follow ups, and hit your normally couldnt land if you were playing it safe. Of course there is a limit to how aggresive/risky you can be, but i recently beat a mk play named clel that i would have not if i hadnt changed into this risky bold style. As for the armor game....its tough sometimes if they can use armor really well. I chunk them all against diddy and reflecting characters, so i can go either way on whether i use pieces or not. all and all, pat you my boy and you still rapin face, but who knows im starting to get close to your level so watch out XD. Vids comin in a few hours of phase 10 tourney matches

My suit piece game is very good actually but it's hard to see here because I USUALLY throw them away vs. Peach (or at least two fo them).

In some of these matches I try to keep them but lose them, etc. It's just the selection of videos he chose to upload.

Incidentally, Castle Siege is probably a stage you want to ban vs. Peach. The first part of that stage makes it very easy for her to pressure you... very very easy. =/

While we're here a few other tips against Peach that have helped me a lot:

1. Don't dair. You can see it in the videos once or twice before I figured out it's a bad idea, but Peach punishes dair for free unless ehs' in the middle of another action (why would she be?) .

2. This isn't in any of the videos uploaded but I found out later in the day that you can up+b Peach through her dair if the tip of the whip hits her face. You'll notice that sometimes when Peach floats I basically just give up chasing her but it's because I didn't know that yet. (thanks to nef for that one)

3. BAN CASTLE SIEGE such a gay stage. Or just plank on the first part until it transforms

Actually, you you looked through all of them, there is a vid where you did win. So i pay much more attention before you make me sound like the bad one. I was up till 7 or 8am working on vids dude. Both from saturdays and yesterdays. I could have just did Saturdays and went to sleep. And I also told you on aim that I did not get everying up. There is still like 4 more of you vs me.

I suggest you pick up items from a platform with Z, or an air-dodge, not with an aerial. It's faster, in the case of Z, and an air-dodge can be cancelled into a throw, for added pressure.

The d-smash only hit your shield one time. You probably could have d-smashed here. If not, you could have f-tilted/u-tilted when Peach's d-smash ended.


General notes:
You picked up one turnip the entire match... and you threw it away...
ZSS is AMAZING with items, do not forget.
Plus, glide-toss combos into d-smash. (On hit, obviously.)
Also, Dark wasn't recovering from the perfect height, so you could have d-smashed his up-bs, and footstool > tethered the edge for the kill. (Most noticable the last time he recovers, before the match ends.)

Also, Dark, when a ZSS jabs you, DI down, and shield. You will always shield the third hit if you started on the ground.
Also, I'm pretty sure Peach can jab us after our second jab. Kyon's done it a few times.

Is this attitude really necessary though? If I was winning every match (or even half of them) I probably wouldn't need video critique.

Not sure if she has to Di down, just kinda put it there to counteract possible ideas to Di up.
But, most characters cannot Shield the third hit if you start it in the air (or on a slope)

I checked some vids, and I only saw Oli.

Which is why I find it wierd him only giving you advice where you won. he should be giving you advice. The vids of you Losing is what should be critique on. Your habits and ect. get abused more that way and more visible then matches of you winning.

Ether way I'll tell you whats wrong. You are sometimes easy to read. But half the time it is not your fault. I pressure you and give you lil to no option. So you have no choice but to break away. And me knowing this, I take a guess of where you are gonna go or do. And punish you for it. I have quick reaction time when it comes to pressure.

I would also go near you and Bluff a move. You get scared and roll or side step. Then I punish. I like to toy with peoples head so I am more mindgame material then flashy stuff and showing off. You scare too easily Which makes me able to ready and know what you are doing. Even before you think about doing it.

Remembered when we was doing peach dittos and you said I make quick decisions? That's cause I think ahead. After I do something I already know what I will do three moves later. Thats why I can move quick and read people. or react so fast to stuff.

Thats what I was trying to teach you yesterday when we did Peach dittos. I'll say this though, you was alot hard then last time I played you. But just take into account about them habits. And as I said. Half the time, what you do is not your fault. It's cause I control the Match due to ZSS failing under a good Pressure game against Peach And me not giving you Much of a choice. Then you do what I force you to do. I read that and punish.

What I suggest you do is take a good look at those vids again. And pay attention on how I control you (Once again, half the time it is not your doing) And try to learn from it. And from what I told you yesterday. if you keep playing me or anyone that can beat the **** out of you over and over cause of your habit, you will get better and lay off them. You get better from getting destroyed in matches, not winning. Keep that in mind.

Also, from what I saw, if I critiqued the matches you lost, I would get mad watching vids of that quality over and over.
I figured not many matches where you won would be up, based on what you said about him uploading all the ones you lost.

I'll go to some guy soon anyway so I might as well go ZSS a few matches.
