We have run out of stuff to discuss.

Hang on, I've been wanting to ask this since the super meter idea: How many of you play fighting games other Smash?

Considering how complicated the combos in fighting games tend to be, I haven't played much, if any, others.

That said, I did enjoy playing Pocket Fighter several years back. I oughta get some more Capcom games and try that one again. The Power Stone series has got my interest, so I'll get that.

That, and I played a bit of MUGEN once or twice (although, it's rather difficult to do when you don't have a controller to speak of).

Edit: There is a web-based fighter I'm anticipating, though. It's called Card Sagas Wars. Basically, it's a crossover fighting game (made using the MUGEN engine), with a gameplay that is a mix of Super Smash Bros. and traditional fighting games. As you can imagine, there are quite a few characters in this that won't show up in Smash (e.g. Cloud, KOS-MOS, Master Chief, etc).

The best part? All the sprites, backgrounds and special effects are made from scratch.

Have a look (the demo's not out yet, though): http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=93401.0

Like What? Mii? or Stages?
both. including Rosalina as a trophy or assist trophy
super Mario galaxy stage
midna & wolf link as characters (not my idea)
a new warioware character
a new grab hit for wario (shaking)
a new Pokemon character or trainer.
a new fire emblem character
more sonic characters
little mac as a playable character

for more DS stuff
_________________
a stage inside bowser
dry bowser as alternate costume/or character (neutral B is to throw bones)
a mini mario item
better stage builder
baby DK trophy
baby Daisy trophy
baby luigi trophy
baby mario playable (well, I wish)
a new stage for toonlink (spirit tracks stage)
galacta knight as playable character/assist trophy/trophy/sticker/alternate costume (Nintendo wants to surprise us)
Marcus mccloud as alternate costume
James mccloud alternate costume

as for the game system, it should be a R.O.B in a new design. maybe a wii design. and it will be called R.O.W. Robotic Operating Wii. it would also be R.O.B's alternate costume in SSB4.

I can imagine it.

the R.O.W could also be a separate character.

B: it shoots a disk, if its charged too much, a giant disk the size of giga bowser will come out. it will roll along the stage and fall off. this is the move that can flinch giga bowser. helps to fight any evil hackers who try to use hacks online to beat non hackers for fun. R.O.W will stake 10% damage. while your foes take 20% damage. you will know that you should start when R.O.W begins to shake.
side B: memory: a blue sphere appears around R.O.W. when an elemental projectile hits the sphere, it gets bigger.there is no limit to the amount of power you can have. and the powerful attack can hurt foes.
up B: just like sonic, but the wii balance board appears. it can trap foes in the ground, or spike people in the air.
down B: wii burn: you are set on fire, you run super fast, and your hurt anyone you touch, even your teammate. but during the attack, you take alot of damage yourself. at the end, you can't move for 5 seconds. the time you can stay on fire depends on how charged up you are. if you charge too much, its instant KO for you, and anyone who is near you.

final smash: malfunction: you spin out of control. you can move around quickly.you can rapidly hit foes. at the end, your head pops off, which is instant KO for your foe. without your head, your controls are altered until you pick up your head.but be careful, anyone can pick up your head.hear is the following results

hits someone: you and the victim gets 10% damage
hits you: you get double the damage.
hits terrain or bounces: 10% the first time, 3% the other times in a row
if your head falls off the stage, your controls will stay altered until you get KOed. if you win a match with altered controls and without picking up your head, or getting koed during altered state, you get the headless R.O.W trophy lol. and his victory poses will have him headless, and chasing the losers., or do normal victory poses.

R.O.W will be better than R.O.B in all aspects of stats.

B: without head: a broken disk comes out. its short ranged.

down B without head: a fireball will be on R.O.W it has the same effect as a small overused fire breath.

up B without head: the wii balance board will be explosive, or it won't make you flinch at all.

side B with head: static covers R.O.B for 1 second. anyone near him gets shocked.

please comment on my moveset. I could make more if I should. should I make the A moves? they are all different from R.O.B.

I've seen Card Sagas Wars before, and I'm very interested in this game. I'm dying to see Samus vs. Chun-Li.

Anyway, I didn't answer my question earlier. I play primarily Street Fighter IV, but I mess with Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and I'm looking into Tekken 6.

On my part, I'm eager to see if Earthworm Jim will show up. I asked the creators if there would at least be one Western video game character in, and they said yes! :estatic:

Come to think of it, I did play some Marvel Vs. Capcom once (without a manual, unfortunately :urg:). I oughta get Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, one of these days.

Other fighting game series do make me curious, though.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is something else. For some reason, the inputs aren't always recognized or something. Maybe it's just me.

Anyway, I think it's a good thing to look into other fighting games. It's because of Street Fighter IV did I learn the value of spacing and mind games. You can thank fighting Zangief for that.

As for that Western character thing, I think why there aren't probably not that many in CSW is because a bunch of Western characters are typically human beings in a realistic style which would clash big time with the more cartoony and anime styled characters.

Think they will change the speed of gameplay again? I think they will speed it up but it won't be as fast as melee.

If you get Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, look into getting an arcade stick. I'm curious how those would work with Brawl.

I saw Mother/EB above. More music is the only thing that should be added in the next game, and much as I love MOTHER, if I say anything else should be added it would be my completely biased opinion... *cough*maskedman*cough*

Well, that certainly makes sense to me. Personally, I think Duke Nukem seems over-the-top enough to fit right in.

That said, I'm planning to try out the Tekken series, among a few others. On a side note, my sister and her boyfriend are into fighting games since I gave away my copy of Capcom Fighting Evolution to them (not exactly proud of that one, truthfully :embarrass), so I gave her boyfriend a copy of King of Fighters: The Orochi Saga for his birthday (or Christmas. I can't quite remember :dizzy:).

Biased or not, I'm sure that people would eventually warm up to what you're hoping for.

But still, more Mother music would be nice.

If you ever want to play something MvC-related that has a little more variety, you should try out Super Marvel Vs. Capcom, found at this site:

www.infinitymugenteam.com

It's still a beta, but it periodically gets adjustments (eventually), as well as people working on the characters' kinks. The community's pretty nice to boot, too.

That said, I'm stoked for Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom! Gold Lightan, here I come! :flame:

Edit: Oh, and it seems that Jack Cayman might be elligible as a 3rd party rep for SSB4, because MadWorld will come to Japan!

I barely know anything about Mother but I think he^ should be playable and a new stage would be Saturn Valley and maybe a boss (maybe Giygas) and more music is a definite, so it's not biased.

Eh, I'm all up for giving Mother a new stage or two, with new music of course, but I don't think it should get another character. (And if it did, it should be Porkey, not Masked Man) Still giving Ness and Lucas a new special or two to make them more different from each other wouldn't hurt either.

Is Travis Touchdown 3rd party?

And Kuma if it still matters for fighting games I played Street Fighter II a lot when I was younger, Tekken 3-5, 6 soon, Soul Calibur 2 and the entire Clash of Ninja series.

Why do you think it should be Porky instead of Masked Man (or what ever his name is)? Ness and Lucas are different enough for me just by their Smash and other A moves

Ness and Lucas are similar only in their specials. Kinda like Fox and Wolf. They don't need to be differentiated, really. Mother is really lucky to have two characters. I'm not sure it has a third character w/significance or popularity enough to make it in. As for Mother stages, I'd like to see Fourside come back. That, and more Mother trophies.

Heck, we need better trophies in general. I'd like to see something like this for trophies (Only doing a few series that I know well enough to give trophies to. FS Trophies/SMASH! Trophies not included)

Super Mario Bros.

Lakitu
Wiggler
Dry Bones
Bullet Bill
Luma
Mario Kart

Since were discussing characters beign changed, anyone want to see any changes to the characters specifically? (Last time I brought this up Ganon argument started, so shy away from Ganon, anyone else is open though).

I believe this is an opening for a fix the abomination that is Yoshi topic. Or even Link and CF, but they need obvious fixes.

I mean Yoshi isn't terrible in Brawl, but he's not good. The area he's really lacking in is recovery. Melee was good because you could 2nd jump out of his Egg Roll attack. In Brawl you just ****ing sink! I understand his eggs give you more of a boost, but that doesn't change anything. 2nd jump's invincibility frames still doesn't change anything... the fact of the matter is, Yoshi needs a **** tether. And I'm surprised he didn't get one. Lucas got a tether... but not Yoshi, what? He could have even gotten a zair.

What do you guys think? (or other characters)

N88 those are pretty good trophies but you should have Skull Kid (Like that you gave Vaati one) SK could have two trophies w/ MM and normal (like in TP)

I agree that Yoshi should have a tether grab like Samus or Link, speaking of Samus and air grabbing, Who here thinks she should have and auto throw down if she gets somebody w/ her Grapple while she's in the air? Kinda like Ganondorf's B Side in the air only Samus doesn't go falling down......I just randomly thought about this while playing as her

Yoshi shouldn't have a tether recovery, IMO. I'd find it rididulous. Latching onto the ledge with his tongue? If they made his B-Side as good for recovery as it was in Melee, I think he'd be fine for recovery.

He was able to do that on certain objects in Yoshi's Story. It's anything but far fetched. I think Yoshi would really benefit from a tether. Now, for what I think should be done for Link:

1. Give him better recovery.
2. Make him a little faster.
3. Let him aim his arrows in any direction.

That's all I can think of.

I think that would overpower her. In my matchup idea, I wanted Samus to bring the enemy to her. For Yoshi, I wanted him to be brought to the enemy.

I agree except for 3. I don't think he should do that but he should be able to turn them behind him, just not upwards.

How would it overpower her? It would only throw them down pretty much where they were when she grabbed them. Not take em over to her and then throw em down.

The problem with your idea comes to when both characters are off at the edges of the stage, or at least the opponent. Unlike Ganondorf's Side B, there's no cost in pulling of what can a OHKO.

Anyway, I want Link to do that because it'll be great against air campers.

Still I don't want him to be too similar to Pit, Turning directions is fine though

About Samus, That part is true about being of stage, but maybe it wouldn't have Meteor Smash......would that fix it?
