Also I can see that Merkuri seems to bring up good points. Would hope to play him to see what he really knows. Well I mean like how he does practically, instead of theoritically. : D

I see it a lot on the mangahelpers boards, when someone says Itachi/Zaraki is overrated and everyone calls them troll despite them bringing up good points. It's pretty dumb

Virusbluemage went to MSU -- straight from hbk.

I kinda like Kyu_puff though.
I like you too vbm. :]

I feel kinda bad for calling you out like this but the whole virusbluemage thing ended too inconclusively.

Oh boy, it's amateur psychologist time. Here's my contribution for you:

You have a huge sense of unwarranted self-importance despite your completely unknown status, and come off as condescending every second post . You take the most minor things seriously, and can't take a joke. Oh yes, you also want to murder your father and bed your mother, my teacher tells me this is called the Oedipus Complex but that word is too big for me :(
only oedipus if its your own father/mother.
so that would mean you're related to merkuri?

I don't go to Montclair State University. I just attended a tournament there. If VBM went to Montclait State University I think I would have heard about it. Kupo 15 said that all the best smashers at the school excluding DA Dave was at that tournament. So I'm saying either Kyu_Puff or HBK is lying about VBM attending school there.

And lol it really would be funny if HBK was VBM.

It was just a link to all the search results for "montclair" by vbm, but you get the point.

i thought merkuri was vbm before it was cool
It's not cool. I already said I feel bad for calling him out because he's clearly not trying to troll.

I show no mercy, no remorse, no weakness.
You made try to hide these things from your advesaries, but deep down, everybody has weaknesses. Admit that you are imperfect, and you show that you are strong and secure enough to be indifferent to any attempted assault on your faults. If one can find your weaknesses against your will, they can chip away at your mental defenses and cause you to begin a downward spiral into the nightmarish territory of the mad.

The only real weakness is believing that great ones such as I can posses weakness. Let alone more than one.

In the same way Falco, Sheik and Puff are all better than Marth now. Marth just hasn't really gone anywhere while other characters keep progressing (all comparatively of course).
what does that even mean?

unless you meant to say "nobody good plays marth anymore except m2k" which is totally different.

Maybe he means there are more people who play falco/sheik/puff than people who play Marth.

I'm betting that Marth has a lower % chance of recovering (feet onto the stage not in lag) than Falco. I think Marth has the worst recovery in the top tier. The big change in my mind since 2k7 is that people learned how to edgeguard him.

So I risk my life to bair or something and it's done. But it's scary : [

uhh no. Not at all. marth has the best recovery in the top tier. yes there are ways to edge guard him but many of them require very precise timings and marth can choose from a huge number of different timings and if he hits you at all you will probably die. dj spaced fair to clear the edge then sideb stall to sweetspot upb beats 75% of edgeguards on marth. As long as marth has his jump and can get near the edge with it, it is very difficult to edgeguard him.

@sveet - You really think he has the best?

When speaking of recovery I think fox has the most options, then falco but his is undeniably worse. Sheik is very predictable, and Im assuming we exclude jiggz.

I would put foxs recovery at the top, then marth, then falco, sheik(without using zelda for more than a quick stall).

Fox does have a lot of options too, but i think he gets shut down a lot more because of his fall speed and firefox startup time. where marth can switch up his timing with fast precise moves to clear the edge and then safely grab it, fox has to force/pressure/hope that the opponent doesn't cover all of his 4-5 options, which a lot of characters can do very well.

Maybe. I just know that options combined with actual distance is what makes a recovery. I can see Marth having one of the best if not the best, recovery.

At this point I would probably only argue for fox because he has more range vertically and horizontally, which increases his box size. Its alot safer for fox to not sweet spot than marth, due to the ability to ledge cancel on many stages.

But If you think about the rest of the cast, I think marth seems harder for them to deal with because of the reasons you have stated.

Edit: Lol I kinda just made up box size. But I just kinda pictured the recoveries and pictured a box being made from the different angles/positions.

Marth is easy to edgeguard with Sheik.
nobody likes you

My favorite thing about marth's recovery is that each marginal thing you do to improve your DI helps marth's recovery many-fold. Take for example the prospect of DIing perfectly to the top left corner, barely dodging the blastzone, and then recovering with fox and marth. Marth would still be within jump distance from the edge when he recovered while fox would be forced to upb or sideb. Combine that with the fact that marth is heavier and therefor takes longer to get hit into the blastzone.
