IIT? :S

@Blistering. I simply said that people over-estimated the sword meaning that some people(So lower leveled players) feel they can just throw out an attack with the mighty sword and kill peach(aka yes Forward Smash) I guess I should have specified. But I agree with what you said.

The tier list is only representative of top level play. The rest is irrelevant, and incorporating elements of low level play shouldn't be included in deciding how good a character is, especially a popular one.

Now pretend I was never here.

Marth has an extremely good down tilt. His forward smash is an OK move at best, imo.

No, the players are just terrible at being situation selective with it. A Marth that plays low commitment invalidates so many options simply by merit of the safety of his range. More down tilts, less forward smashes.
So you say swinging your sword wins? Then you say play low commit with Marth meaning you hesitate to swing your sword....So which is it? Not to mention...if you play the waiting game as Marth you have to deal with the fact that Projectiles technically out range you. I'm pretty sure it's the reason why the best Marth players are sheik mains.

umm no.

I'd give the MU a 50-50

Why because has its usual im so over powered with my metal legs and all that jazz. Marth can still contain Fox Fairly well thanks to its Range and spacing. However Fox has the shine which murders Marth. But Marth can grab combo Marth for like a decade.

So basically Fox has these. The usual Up-throw Up Air stuff. and shine combos/gimps.
Marth has his usual spacing and great off-stage play.

The neutral play isnt too bad for either Character, I mean Fox cant be an *** and laser all day to be an ***, but still has great stage control. Both characters have the abiltiy to death combo but Fox does have the uber hand, both can gimp well.

So I would not say, that Fox wins hands down by any means.

As for Sheik, I couldnt even go there, I dont know nearly enough about the MU. Other then Sheik can combo well and tech chase down-throw forever(Usual Sheik Shenanigans)
This post hurt my head cuz it had ******** typos and one (probably) unintended pun, or just another typo.

Yeah, i like the way this guy thinks

I think he's saying that instead of throwing out lag, let your opponent jump or do whatever they ALWAYS do, in fear of the laggy move, then hit them when they have no jump or whatever and win.

One example is in puff vs marth, when i'm trying to get down from high, lets say on fd to simplify it, i just use my jumps and move around horizontally and just wait for the marth to throw out some dumb fsmash and then land for free. When i play very good marths that know the matchup, which there are a few of, they just move with me and are very patient and count my jumps while not swinging... i still have to jump and move out of the fear of a fsmash, but if they choose not to do it, then my jumps progressively get worse and they can start to pressure me much better and likely get a hit

Of course swinging less isn't perfect and your opponent can adapt to it and it becomes rps, but i think what blistering speed was saying was that people choose "rock" too much nowadays.

Puff vs Marth is mostly a fun MU(for me). I got what you are saying though. Tilts vs Puff are so broken....so is jump counting..should be banned :p

fixed that for you.

also, like all the above posters said, when puff is coming down she has to trick marth into swatting at her with some laggy attack, if marth waits he has a greater chance of connecting with something, and, added bonus, jiggly wont have (m)any jumps!

yet I don't play in Melee tournaments. I'm not that good but I never get down on myself.
If you dont play in tournaments you dont have a reason to get down on yourself. You truly dont understand being ***** in a video game until you play the #1 seed in your pool at your first tournament. Mine was Raynex lmfao

actually I should rephase that brother, I have been in tournaments but no one was really good. My Falcon always did well, I just never went the distance and gone to bigger markets in Melee, I have in Brawl and did well.

Well then I guess your Lucky and at the same time that sucks.

I hate getting *****(Who doesnt?) but at the same time those people who wreck you give the best advise. Like every tournament I either get Unknown,Kirbykaze or Weon-X as my #1 seed, they **** me, then I can ask them tons of questions and get a solid answer.

yep but I keep getting better and better everyday, I played M2K at a Brawl/Melee tournament up at the University of Michigan, I lost but i TOOK some stocks off of him which not a lot of us amateurs can really say. but after that I took the footage and studied it, I changed my mains around and locked into 2, TL/ZSS, in Melee I will always stick to the Manliest Man of Man Captain Falcon along with Mango Falco, Ken Marth, and Kage Ganon. and I've been playing since 2003
