I like this tier list - I'm pleased with but extremely surprised at Peach going up considering the rather ridiculous hate she's got from some people recently. Very pleased with Kirby, ROB and Pit dropping. Not surprised at Wolf, DK and Sonic going up although I'm interested to know why Marth is now over Wario and Lucario has gone up as well. Glad to see TL in high tier as well

I'm not sure whether I agree with Fox, Wolf and Peach being in their own tier yet but it's growing on me the more I look at it

All I really cared about was Peach moving up but I agree with Wolf (and Fox aswell) being over Peach because imo it reflects the current metagame, especially when considering Wolf

Also, I'm somewhat surprised Oli and Pika didnt go above ICs. Something in me felt that at least they would move up somehow, considering how solid both of them are. Maybe it's just that both dont have enough rep, not sure.

I really hate Wolf, but I cant deny that he really isnt that bad and his mains are proving that. Peach over DK bothers me though, I dont understand that.

Yoshi needs to be higher, but I am glad ROB and Pit dropped, neither of them are particularly good.

Overall, good stuff. I think MK needs to be higher though.

I think ICs are better than Wario for sure. Olimar probably is too. Just nobody in the US has the dedication to go all/mostly ICs, though tons of people use him as an amazing CP character on neutrals. Wario is hella overrated. Characters like Ganon/Link/Falcon/Zelda have close to even matchups with him....

Here is the Brawl Back Room's sixth release of its tier list. Unlike the past six month release schedule, this list has come [just over] nine months since version five; we feel that the game has reached a certain level of maturity that does not require as frequent updates - this period of time may be lengthened for subsequent releases.
Also unlike our last release, the BBR has 'split' from rule set creation - and with the unity rule set becoming a growing standard voters were requested to take the unity rule set into account. However, as always, votes placed were based on their own opinion.

The tier list makes sense but PT being where he is on the list is just incorrect. I dunno how you guys discuss him or if you still have old incorrect views of his matchups, but outside of tournament attendence then basically there is no reason besides misconcieved matchups for PT to be under so many chars..

Falcon is the only character in that list that has a fairly even MU with Wario. Everyone else loses. Ganon gets death grabbed, Zelda cannot physically catch him if he gets the lead, Link is Link.

Playing IC's is also too hard on CP stages.

This pretty much. Sonic's been doing plenty of work as well, but it's been overshadowed by Wolf and Fox stuffs, along with mid/high tier cutoffs.

Freakin Sonic Iono y every1 hated on him so much from the get go. I think he should eventually land in the bottom of high tier low of mid tier. Sonic is too funny.

Sonic should be right below the spacies in mid tier, in my opinion. He's shown plenty of potential, and has some beefy results to back it up.

Really though Sonic lowballed again. How about we stop giving characters rises relative to their previous position and start thinking about them relative to the current meta

Pretty much. Sonic is better than Peach.

People need to take into consideration character mechanics and matchups.

If this was aimed at the Sonic statements, I'd argue that the MU Ratios for him are incorrect to a degree that could potentially shift in Sonic's favor.

Predicting Sonic will be over Kirby someday. Calling it now.

I need more Sonic support in the Backroom. Seagull was my only ally.
There's still a pretty hefty anti-Sonic bias back there.
I mean, just look at the match up chart.

BSP, no respectable player truly thinks "lolsonic" anymore.

That said, he hasn't been doing anything notable this season compared to, say, Espy's and X's high placing at MLG Dallas.

Sonic is definitely a good character. To see more of a rise, though, more consistent big-time results would definitely help.

Wrong, Zigsta. Look at Sonic's tournament results thread. He's done just as well as Peach has been doing all season. The MLG Dallas event is like the first scoop in a bowl of ice cream. It's a foundation that I feel gives Sonic an edge to...what, Peach's WHOBO performance?

Hell, aside from Illmatic placing a single placing above the highest placing Sonic at WHOBO3, the two characters placed in generally the same areas. Not to mention if you take a gander at both character's results since January, they've essentially placed in the same areas. Constantly.

You can't say that Sonic hasn't done much, because you'd be completely wrong.

And yes, PLENTY of players still think "lolSonic". The fact that MLG Dallas was such a big deal is a testament to that bias. That isn't to say that what happened should've been expected, but it also shouldn't have been such a huge surprise either. Sonic is reasonably viable outside of a single character match up or two.

There were some people who hated/didn't know Jigglypuff very well. Tried arguing against it but failed to change their minds very much.

Story. Of. Sonic's. Entire. Metagame.

He's right tough. I think Sonic is much better then Peach. But hell, the two matchups I specialize in are Wolf vs Peach and Wolf vs Sonic so I make it insanely difficult for either of those characters to even get me to last stock at this point in time =/.

Again, it was definitely a huge contribution, but it's also his consistently decent results (at least in comparison to his other mid tier brethren, especially Peach) that support a rise for the character.

I think the only two characters in mid tier who unarguably outdo him results-wise are Fox and Wolf, actually.
