But seriously, with infinites being allowed and all that jazz now according to the new Unified ruleset, what do people think might happen to various positions of characters? Are the infinites going to cripple some characters viability or will it not really make that much of a difference?

Ok, well they use TL to his fullest at this current metagame so no you are wrong there. Also Link sucks, have you tried recovering with him when some actually knows to grab the ledge or block the ledge from him? See Izaw for top link play. So you are wrong there as well.

I can already guess you are one of those "I beat my friends/computers all the time with these characters so I am right". You aren't a prodigy kid. As I said before go join Kirby A Tier1029 and spare yourself some humiliation, take notes, go to tournaments, get better, then come back and see if your claims are still the same and if they are come and prove us wrong. Until you start that path, shut up.

aka bad characters will get worse, so it doesn't really matter.

Give me a stats method to compare character A's potential against character B's potential, and potential will be usable.

Until then: potential is meaningless. There are no facts behind them. I could say "Ike has a lot of untapped potential in his ground game", and you wouldn't be able to prove me wrong. Nor would I be able to prove myself correct.

Tier List should only be able proven stuff, that you can point to as data. Anything else being added makes it worthless.

yo, I can see how you might think the links are really good characters, since they have the ability to do lots of damage from long range. however, link has a lot of holes in his projectile game, his up close game is too slow against most characters, and since he doesnt have a good get off me move, he gets pressured and put of stage a lot. and links terrible recovery leads him to die far early than his opponents in most cases.

tink is actually a good character tho. his jump and fall speed allow him to do a lot of setup for his projectile game out of harms reach. and he actually does have speed to his attack to defend him self and pressure the opponent. however. characters that are faster than him, and characters that out range him when they get past his weapons wall like marth do a lot of damage to them. not only that, but he has a really hard time dealing with meta knight who is very prevalent in tournaments.

I love how you automatically resort to results in any argument you know you can't win without it. "Oh dang, I can't use general wit to back myself up on this, I guess i'll just throw out the fact that i've never heard of my opponent and that basically means they suck, lolol so good at this."

People think it bothers me when they bring up my lack of notable results, but I really don't care. if we ever see each other IRL (which is very unlikely because i'm an anti-social creep with no life) I would be glad to hand over $5 in a MM after you JV 4 stock me. It doesn't effect my intelligence, nor does it mean I can never be right in an argument.

No, you don't... You're basing it off someone talking down on me because they have a grudge against me, and THEY didn't even present any specific data either, other than "he places like, last" i believe was how he phrased it.

If you did, you would know i only placed last at one tournament, which was my first.
The last tournament i entered i got 9th in out of 20-something entrants. Don't exactly know where it is but it was hosted by colorado cutthroat connection and it was hosted at some college up in colorado springs, you're welcome to look for it if you mind actually finding any data to support your assumptions.
