Geez Levitas, I thought I had sleeping issues? Does college really have that much homework?
College ****s with your sleep schedule for completely unrelated reasons... *guzzles another energy drink after an almost sleepless night*

Silly west coast. Real men stay up till forever and spend the entire night in the art studio.
Fixed.

I must say, it's not fun at all, sitting in a studio by yourself watching the sun rise. 30 hours without sleep = a Neon that doesn't make sense.

Honestly, I feel that Lylat Cruise is a far better stage than Yoshi's Island. The ledges on YI just scream for PKT ledge bouncing. I don't see the support ghost as too much of a problem since you can recover from the spot it appears on. And as for shy guys, those are evil. Recovering low is also near-impossible due to a possible wallbounce. The stage itself doesn't offer Ness many advantages, either. It's a bad stage.

Lylat Cruise doesn't offer a comfortable recovery, but if you are used to it, it isn't too bad. The only thing to be careful on is when you are offstage. The stage itself is randomly tilting, but it doesn't affect your aerials too much. IMO, PKT does a far better job in the mindgame department here. The stage tilts and the thunder can get too erratic to respond accordingly.

Most people hate both of these stages. IMO the only one to hate is Yoshi's Island.

EDIT: I am one of those people that stay up late. 30 minutes - 1 1/2 hours of sleep is just too little, though.

I agree Yoshi Island brawl is far worse than Lylat. Basically for the same reason Guassis put down.

Yes I actually wrote a bit about battle field and one of the cons is what clinton just said, a lot of other characters are good on it.

It's fun to spike through the platforms though.
rising dair from below the platforms? whenever i try one from above, i end with a little bit of landing lag... is there any way to stop the landing lag?

p.s. It's fun to spike through the platforms though.:chuckle:

Can you get out of marths grab release (using EIDI) if you b-stick? =/
If not I guess I have to change the cstick back to smashes... I don't use the backwards momentum pkf much anyway...

Um well I tested this and I think the Cstick set to specials only works as normal DI so you can't really smash DI with it.

I've set it to smashes now...

IIRC, it works as smash DI also. You don't smash DI grab-releases anyway because you aren't in hitlag.

I'm mildly confident that Gaussis is right about csticking and SDI.

I'm not confident that he's right on the SDI, as Dedede's dthrow infinite is based on projectile properties of hitlag on a throw. It's entirely possible that the EIDI is ASDI away off of marth's pummel.

EIDI does seem to work with B sticking, only problem is it seems harder....

Oh and sorry guys I went to the smash fest and I'm pretty sure nobody had recording equipment.

Well I tested at the lasercannon on halberd.

With the cstick set to smashes I can smash DI really good, but if it's set to specials most of the time it doesn't work and sometimes only really bad (you move not as far).

Aw, man. I was looking forward to more videos of Ref being broken. We need more broken Nesses attending big touneys.

Oh yeah, I used EIDI to escape a Marthgrab the other day for the first time. Felt good.

Does Ness or Lucus have invincibility frames on their up b (PKT2)? Do they have Invincibilty frames on any other moves?

Ness has invincibility on his Up B once he hits himself. There is no Known 100% invincibility on any other attack...

They have invincibility at the beginning of PKT2 (right when they hit themselves)... if I remember correctly, they don't have invincibility frames on any of their other moves :(

EDIT: nvm, Ref beat me

Ok thanks. I tried to dair Ness' PKT2 today and it didn't work...I was just wondering if it had amazing priority or if it was invincibilty. Thanks again.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think PKT2 DOES have amazing priority... except against disjointed hit boxes, like swords and big hammers

It does, but also has invincibility in the sweet spot which is the main part to why it is so amazing.

Err... Nobody knows the answer to that question, so I rather it not really be asked... But if 4 post want to answer go ahead but after those 4 we get off that subject.

Let me reask that question:

Which Ness users are considered the best? For example, if I was to look at videos of Ness (to see how well he performs, his AT's, and other stuff), which videos of which players should I see?

To answer that question you should check the tournament results thread, analyze it... Then try to find videos of the Ness in question...

Best Ness players (in no order)

Dog Latin (Power Rankings ftw)
Vice (He gives great advice for everybody)
Ref (Because New York Sucks, gives great advice for newer players as he is one himself, compared to say Ademisk, Levitas, or me)
Cazcom (Again Power Rankings ftw)
Me (I only put myself here because it was said in the HHC)

People who are good at using Ness but don't main him or use him in tournaments:
Simna (he doesn't enter tourneys and mains pkt)
Edrees (he mains Peach, but is very proficient with Ness from what I've heard).
Levitas (he lives in Michigan and thinks Lucas > Ness, WTF)

Edit: I decided to put this in no order since we can't really rank ourselves that well. It's not that hard to get on this list since there are only like this + 5 other people who use Ness in tournaments.

I'm not a newer player though... I've been playing smash 64 since I was like 6 or 5... Then melee, then brawl.

So if you can beat a Ness main with your Ness and they're good, does that mean that you're just as good? I don't go to tournaments, so I can't say how good I am. I don't even think I'm good.

My marth would be as good as scotu's in melee then, which is not the case. I'm just decent at marth dittos.
