I just bought my players pass for DC, and went to the Team Builder and it says:

"Registration is closed! Email the commissioner if you need to make any changes.

If you are registered for an upcoming event, go to the Team Viewer."
Please try now. It should be open now.

CCPro is a Classic Controller Pro. My modification to it would involve making a gamecube controller circuit board such that the buttons on the CCPro pertain to the buttons on a GCC, with the ZL, Minus (-) and Home buttons non-functional. It would thus have 3 shoulder buttons, 5 face buttons (including start), two joysticks, and one d-pad, identical amounts to the GCC. Only major differences would thus be 1) it would be larger than the standard GCC, 2) buttons would be in different positions, which could also be argued for third party GCCs.

*EDIT* It would also obviously be wired, otherwise what would the point of doing this be.

It will fall under the following rule:

Players are allowed to make cosmetic changes to their controller, however, Major League Gaming reserves the right to deny the use of any controller suspected of providing an unfair competitive advantage.
However, before the event you will have to show it to AlphaZealot (SSBB Tournament Director), and he will have to OK it before it is used.

Well the same people for top 16 should've already had stuff...I'm pretty sure we don't have to get it again.

Sorry if this has already been asked but are there any plans to use lagless TVs....i would figure that such a large gaming organization would realize the flaw in having delayed button responses in SUper high level competitive play.

We used the players feed back, as well as our own internal testing.

The TVs we are using now are extremely good, and have minimal latency.

Alrighty, that's cool. I guess I'll practice some with the GCC just in case.

Is that true MLG Deimos? We don't have to worry about stipends for DC?
Please PM me with your exact question regarding stipends. I'm not sure what you are referring too.

For MLG DC, if one just goes to the event to spectate they don't have to say so prior to coming to the event? Do just say it at the door?

Yes, spectating is free in DC. You just go to the venue, and walk through the doors.

tube TV's solve the lag problem very well LOL.. but Sony and Samsung seem to do a decent job as well.. the composite video cables also help in this regard. When critical moments are ruined by lack of precise timing, there is really no point in having those TV's. Unfortunately, the wii and HDTV's don't get along very well..

Now for my question, as an entry-level competitive player with no win history or tournament experience, how possible is it to gain access to any of these "Hardcore Professional" tournaments. Obviously people like M2K, Ally, and the like, are all very skilled. I'm not inexperienced, and by no means a noob, and at times I feel my skill may be at least adequate for entry into these competitions. I am new to this site and if my question seems irrelevant or pointless, please accept my humble apologies.

MLG Tournaments are open to everybody. You don't need to qualify for them.

To register for DC, you can purchase a pass by going here: https://secure.mlgpro.com/store/product.php?pid=133

Yes, only Gamecube controllers are allowed for the event, Wavebirds (wireless GCN controllers are also banned).

MLG is straight brackets and no pools. Seeding is done based on points earned at previous events and the online gamebattles qualifiers. It is a double elimination bracket.

I just saw that this is for Dallas, which I am unsure of the format of the Brackets due to it being finals. Deimos will save the day soon enough :D

Just curious, how are people who have never attended an MLG event before seeded?

Everything here is correct.

Dallas will be the same as the regular season events; however, the top 8 players in terms of overall seeds will automatically start in the Championship Bracket. The other 8 players will come from the Open Bracket. The 16 players will combine to make the Championship Bracket.

http://pro-circuit.mlgpro.com/pro-circuit/2010/dallas/super-smash-bros-brawl-1v1/competition-format

Read under "National Championship Competition - SSBB 1v1 Event"

Just curious, how are people who have never attended an MLG event before seeded?

Players will be seeded using the following criteria, in this order: SSBB Pro Circuit Rank Points and SSBB Online Qualifier Rank Points. Ties will be broken using the next available criterion, or randomly if necessary. Players with no SSBB Rank Points will be seeded randomly.

Singles is over on Saturday at 11:15 PM. The doubles tournament takes place on Sunday, and is over around 5:30 PM.

The 2nd part of this is false. However, they ARE trying to correct the issue.

During an MLG tournament match, if I'm playing Marth against a Ness, or a Lucas, and I grab release the character into a regrab, but throw instead of grab releasing for a second time, does this count as an aspect of the infinite grab release, or is this a tourney-legitimate combination? Or in other words, could I be forced to forfeit in doing this?

Grab release to regrab would be performing the infinite grab (grab release to a non-grab move would be allowable)

why is the rule for marth vs ness/lucas different than the dedede vs donkey kong rule?

the dedede VS DK infinite rule states that dedede can perform a walking infinite, while marth can not regrab?

Quick Question about Dallas.
Do the pro players also have to buy a pass? The passes go on sale before the top 16 is finalized, so I was unsure how it would work.

The regrab means you didn't move though...as in an infinite no matter where you are on the stage.. the walking infinite can end. I understand what you mean mike, but the rules make sense..to me atleast.
