lol flame wars.

@ pixelbind - Well, the best thing to use for DI is the control stick, but if you're talking about getting out of hitstun, Uair and Dair are the best since they're the least laggy.

thx alot

also whats the best way to play against a good IC, my friend has been maining him

and im constantly being shield grabbed/blizzard/spammed with projectiles and smashes.

grabbing is misleading because ill grab nana by accident sometimes and popo with fsmash me.

all my aerials are stopped by blizzard.

its hard to tell if he's going to grab or smash me so shielding isnt very effective other than against projectiles

fsmash really annoys me because it does 27% dmg new.

Grabbing is basically useless against Ice Climbers, unless you uthrow immediately afterward to get out of the way. If you're having trouble getting around Blizzard, try getting above them more. ICs don't have a very large grab range so if you're getting shieldgrabbed you're probably not spacing properly.

Try to avoid committing to moves that will leave you open alot. Don;t throw out a full Ftilt unless it hits otherwise you'll be too open after the third hit and get grabbed. Don't approach with Fair, try using Dair more. The Ice Cimbers have trouble with things directly above them. They usually just uair at whatever it is which is fairly easy to see coming. A constant assault with Dairs will generall provoke a uair which should be the opening you need to get one in the air and gimp.

What's the best way to edgeguard metaknight when he recovers low?

If he does happen to grab the ledge, what's the best defense? Spacing d-smash is all I really do once they grab the ledge, but I need something more efficient.

depends how they recover

if they shuttle away from ledge nado

if the shuttle from ledge shield+grab (watch out for glide cancel)

if they nado you cant do much...

if they drill rush just shieldgrab

if they plank just wait or dtilt

If they plank, go to the other edge and plank, too, and make a funny joke about the mk player. xD

And use some real life mindgames, so that the mk player dont jumps and suicides. ;)

Affinty do you have the link to that video that shows good grab combos? Also (anyone could answer this) what are some good grab combos, like things to do after you throw them and what throw it works with.

I'm a Lucas player trying to figure out if something works. I don't have any humans to test this on. It works on CPU's but obviously they aren't the best thing for testing these sorts of things.

Lucas's air grab release on Metaknight followed by a buffered Dash attack.

If someone who actually knows what they're talking about could test this or let me know if it's possible on humans I'd greatly appreciate it.

For TL it depends on what they're spamming. If it's just arrows/boomerang just spam tornado back but if they're throwing bombs then that's harder to deal with. Dojo knows the matchup like the back of his hand since he plays with Santi like every day of his life so he'll give you some better info on that.

thanks, yes I have seen his videos against santi they're awesome. I don't use the tornado that much I think only ones in a match. I think I need to use the nado more often then. Also in some battles I spam the down smash too much. And afterwards they sometimes call me a spammer. But that's just sometimes when I go crazy with the down smash.

Basically the thing you can should do against any projectile spammer is just: pressure ... (lol that works since smash 64)
Since MK has insane speed and priority and literally no lag you can just pressure them with fair and ftilt ...

If they dont have time to spam projectiles they can't out camp you mirite ?

(caution, bad english)

If you get hit and if you fly away and the opponent camps with projectiles go close to him and try to avoid damage, while doing it. Then do like Tero said.

But against some spammy (and non spammy) characters you maybe shouldnt pressure too much, because they want you to come, so that they can attack you then.
So play clever and use a mix of pressure and spacing/walking gameplay.
Its based on the situation.
Try to stay close to the opponent, but not too close, if you cant pressure him.

edit: thx for explaining tero, I thought pressure means no aproaching.

Preassuring does not mean getting baited by your opponent, you can preassure your opponent and still do a flawless approach
