I never liked losing, mario is fun but losing totally overides the fun for me especially if its losing to someone i know im better than.

This. But I couldn't place in the moneys even if I tried to, even if I used MK, so I came back to Mario. Winning with Mario feels great, and losing isn't so bad when you consider how bad a character Mario is. With MK, or any other high tier, its the complete opposite for me. It doesn't make me feel accomplished when I win, and when I lose it just makes me feel even worst.

If Low-Tier tourneys were advocated more, I'd probably be attending a lot more tournaments.

My point is that I'm fairly rusty. Also I'm gonna reapply cape. 2fast had me thinking "yo why don't I do that anymore?" after he successfully caped Will in friendlies multiple times. I used to be good with cape and at pound I caped an MK then ****ed it up because I had to double cape him and I accidentally hit him as I recovered. I also thought "dammit Will. Punish the Mario." lol

Mario's not too hard to win with on wifi imo. I once had a 16 win streak on the AiB ladder going Mario.

I didn't do nearly as badly in this tournament as I thought I would, and I was mostly Mario there. One of my matches was against a Metaknight who counterpicked me to Brinstar if I recall.

Wifi's only bad if you take it seriously.

Just don't, lol. The most I take from it is KO percentages of moves on various characters...and even that has to be taken with a grain of salt.

And yeah, fireballs are OP on wifi.

It's honestly a shame I didn't save more of my wifi Mario matches...I can remember getting some of the most awesome Up-smash out of shield kills ever in some of my better matches. Like I distinctly recall U-smashing out of shield in between hits of things like Ike's Jab combo and Metaknight's F-tilt for kills lol.

Guys. I don't wanna be known as a wi-fi mario, infact, i hate it with a passion.
I like playing mario ALOT MORE offline anyway after going to my first ever smashfest.
Many ppl i've played against (Ranked Players) say that me & bo x7 are like the two best marios
here in IL. And if i keep going to smashfests/tourneys i can be top mario in the midwest.
Oh & matador. It means alot coming from you dude. *smiles*
I'm still working hard to improve with mario & push my skills to a higher lvl,
& i love the mario boards. Mario is gonna be top-tier, someday.

I've gotten back into playing Mario a bit more so now I feel better about my options. I'm applying a lot more upsmash and goddamn does it help.

I forget just how much space it covers some times. Playing Project M and Melee has helped my spacing and ff aerials. Not really runnin into movement blocks like I used to.

Still won't be entering tournaments for a bit because of financial issues, but I feel like I'm drastically improving again.

Hi! i main jigglypuff and secondary G&W however, i just picked up mario, and LOVE him! theres somethings i dislike....like his recovery. my least favorite thing is hittin UP-B and hitting the bottom corner of FD. can mario dacus? i know nothing of his metagame but he's fun. only technique ive taught myself as of now is dthrow to up-b or to uair (depending on foes %)

hello fellow marios. I main yoshi and play characters like rob and lucario for fun but i cant kill my friends mario as rob. Do you have any tips on marios weakness against rob

You probably need to B-air more (or less). Either way B-air is awesome against Mario for kills. It's one of the most common ways I see ROBs getting KOs in this matchup.

Edgeguarding or juggling with N-air is just as good against Mario as it is against a lot of characters too.

Only use them wisely, if you're going to be predictable and spam those 2 things you might as well lose now.

im good with rob! better than with mario i guess, but marios fun just because of how simple he is. i already jus figured out cape gliding, it said it would be hard to learn at first. im pretty much doing it every time which took like 5 minutes lol.
