I actually didn't know this, or it hadn't come to mind. How long ago did you play them, Apex? At any rate he could probably use your help too, just send him a message.

edit: fino's prob 3 stocked me once in a friendly or something, i forget
but i killed him with over B, so his argument is invalid

Does purple u-smash have a sweetspot? Sometimes I'll hit my opponents at over 100% and they won't die :V

if you can get your opponent to sit in their shield, just jab once and grab

Red Pikmin are immune to fire. And Blue Pikmin are immune to water.
But does that also mean that red Pikmin are weaker to water attacks? And blue Pikmin weaker to fire attacks?

Red Pikmin die instantly in water, but that's about it.
Haven't heard anything about blue Pikmin dying earlier in fire attacks.

What's the hierarchy of grabs?

Shield Grab
Dash Grab
Boost Grab
Pivot Grab
Boost Pivot Grab

dash and boost are the most frowned upon

boost pivot and pivot i think are equal, its nice to vary between the two to mess with the opponent's spacing

you forgot standing grab XD

doesn't shield grab have a longer startup time since you need to drop your shield?

Yeah. I should have clarified in the original question. I'm looking for the hierarchy of grabs based on their range, not speed.

Grab inputs are read as Shield and Attack simultaneously, so a shield grab is the same as standing grab, you're just delaying the Attack input until later. Same concept applies if you're using gair.

How many frames until Olimar automatically retracts to the ledge when hanging after tethered?

:phone:
I could find out for you if you want. I haven't really looked into it yet though. I imagine it would be related to length, but I can't say for sure.

Ah! Skid-canceled shield grabbing is old news around here (though we never referred to it as such).
It's generally preferable to SCSG. Dash grab with Olimar has less range than a normal standing grab.

Question: When I have MK at bay and he's trying to get in, they will often use FFed Fair to deflect Pikmin/keep me at bay. What can I do to remedy this if they keep using Fair in this manner? The MK I was playing today over my house kept doing that, and staying outside of Pivot Grab/F-Smash range.

so he just stands in 1 spot and spams fair?

Eheh... Actually, that's one of this week's discussions.
We've discussed it before. I can post the link to the previous discussion thread in the new match-up thread when I find it.

Is this time-sensitive?

No one of the main players in Iowa plays Wario, I still can't figure out the MU after watching videos and playing it. :(
