If you want a brawl online there may be some people here who brawl online but most play offline at tournaments.

Just curious what part of Australia do you live in?

Also a mod will probably move this thread.

Hey BC25, I'm Matt and I organise the tournaments in QLD for Brawl. There are a few really good players who live up near you, namely Calibur http://www.smashboards.com/member.php?u=149861 (who is definitely one of our best players in the QLD scene). For the future though, if you're looking to play brawl competitively, have a quick look at the closest tournament coming up in Brisbane.

If you have any other questions, just send me a quick PM and hopefully I can answer them for you ;)

Welcome to smashboards!

Which is human reaction time anyway, which means we're all horrible.

If someone has 4 frames reaction time that is pretty godlike. I strongly doubt that would be our reaction speed even if we were specifically looking for the "stimulus" that we are reacting to.

I like how frames are the objective standard measurement for time here

Also about human reaction times. I realise that it makes sense, which makes it even more amusing.

That's just for 64 from what I gather. I believe Brawl is 60 fps for both versions.

I recall Nova saying a long time ago it was 4 frames minimum lag, so I think I'll go with that. lol

You'll get used to threads being taken over by off topic discussion. Just the way Australia is.

On a more important note, and related back to the original topic, did you manage to get in contact with Cal BC? I noticed you signed up for ACL which is awesome. Make sure you single me out on the day and I'll introduce you to the rest of us smashers. I'll be the one behind the laptop being antisocial and organising things if you have trouble spotting me lol.

Also, I am assuming you main Lucario is that right?

According to http://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime/stats.php the average reaction speed is 215 ms. Though it says (median) and a median is not an average...

215ms is 12.9 frames at 60 frames per second. Now I dont know how accurate this is because I have a pretty good reaction speed and when I take the test I get 250ish. I am using a laptop click though and this test would heavily affected by display lag so you should really do the test on a CRT.

Median is better to use than the average for that case because of trolls out there intentionally screwing it up.

Actually thinking on it median is probably better in every case because of paralysed dudes out there with reaction times of a billion years and what have you.

Make sure we have a few games early BC25, that way I can seed you properly for the pools or bracket. Hope you can get there, the QLD brawl scene has a good group of guys (and 1 girl). Plus some really good interstate players too. Always good to practice against some of the countries best ;)

Stop talking about lag and reaction speeds in this thread, I'm faster than anyone in Australian anyway, I have a medical condition that makes this so.

At the moment Cal is in Perth receiving extensive training from Perth, so chances are when he goes back to QLD he will be playing aggro rushdown low tier :D When I see him today I'll give him the heads up.

Lucas main? Pro stuff :D If you need tips/help let me know. I don't play much anymore, but still know all the Lucas strats/techs.
