Personally, I think it should be completely character-locked even with the incoming player having the privilege of picking a stage. It encourages a more evenly-fought crew battle overall and it showcases top players' abilities to tough it out with their best character no matter the matchup.

Yes because SoCal is obviously better enough that I don't really need to know the details of his skill level. I can generally assume he's pretty good, since he is being placed as a starter before stab and MacD.

get outta here n00b

OK after thinking it over and discussing it with a few people, it turns out the ruleset was up for discussion lol. Here's the new (and final) consensus:

Alan and Wes stage strike from the 5 neutrals
Losing team picks a player to go in
Winning player bans a stage (among the 6 legal stages)
New player picks a stage
Character lock. No switching characters whatsoever

I think this makes leads less devastating; with the previous system I fear we'd have too much FD and Stadium. Now, its a little more even, plus with the character lock, the incoming player still has advantage.

:)

Good work. This is gonna be insane. When's the last time there was a super hype NorCal vs SoCal crew battle?

I approve. Five of Norcal's characters being able to chain grab spacies on fd would have made for a pretty lame crew battle.

I'll bet the spread on NorCal for $10, anyone down to match? According to Tafo, SoCal is a 2.5 stock favorite, so that basically means I'll pay you $10 if SoCal wins by 3 stocks or more, and you'd pay me $10 if SoCal wins by 2 stocks or fewer OR if NorCal wins outright.

I'll bet on socal to win straight up if anyone's interested in that

somehow I don't think you guys will be

but I don't think the socal lineup is good enough to merit a 2.5 advantage

socal loses this crew battle.

ktoy vs mango last match.

ktoy with 4

mango with 2

ktoy wins with 1 stock left high %

$50 on norcal straight up who wants it

I got socal to win straight up for however much you want. Looks like wes already took the $50 tho =/

My random predictions about this crew battle:

Wes wins with one stock left against Alan.
Fly enters late and takes 8 stocks.
Zhu is taken out by Mango, and Mango is taken out by PPU.
Socal wins by 4 stocks or more.

I'm really hyped for this, I hope I'll be able to see it live!

people are betting straight up because that's where the money is

no one's backing socal by 3 stock because we don't feel comfortable putting our money there, esp. when there are people willing to do the more reasonable socal/norcal straight up

obviously there are people who think norcal can probably do it straight up

so we're betting on that
