I really do think ken will bring something completely new and revolutionary to the Marth Metagame. Of course thats just me but it seems there are still aspects of this game that have not been completely incorporated. Just my 2 cents. PS. I think Ken was the best Marth in Melee, just My 2 cents also.

I personally think Ken was the best Melee marth b/c he was the FIRST.
He was the first Marth to just **** everybody, and marths metagame is based largely off of his playstyle. Mad props to him.

Its cool hova I can admit to being wrong. During the tourny i learned so much while watching neo play . Can't wait to play again. I gotta different play style now BUT its still marth lol I don't sellout my main to use another character (snake is one of my secondaries but I rarely use him) I might be able to go to chu's final bi-weekly but I don't know if I'll be able to get a ride

I really don't know why people have no confidance in him. There are far more ken haters than ken fanboys. I don't think he can "revolutionize the metagame" either but I'm sure he's pretty f***ing good. I mean, just being ken is a mindgame lol

Don't forget, he actually has revolutionized marth's metagame before, you need to have at least some faith in him

A revolutionized the metagame of a character that no one knew about at all.

He didn't change a character that people thought was already figured out. And he didn't just revolutionize Marth. He did things that no one did before at all.

He not only changed how Marth is played. He changed the Melee metagame itself.

There is simply no way he can have as much of an impact as before. The community has evoled too much for him to do this.

I do think that his Marth will be very good however.

hasn't been any? I've been busy with school and everything else in my life. I'll attend some soon I suppose. I'm going to Evo for sure, thats a big one.

What I think so far is all the Marth's I've seen are all the same. Not so unique. Just forward Airs and foward smashes (kind of the same way in melee). I think once people see my Marth in brawl, the whole Marth meta game will change and Marth will move up to top tier again.

Or I probably suck at brawl like a lot people say and nothing will change. Then again I've never actually played anyone in person and Wifi doesn't prove anything except the fact of mass suicides, non spacing, getting hit by things you know that's coming and uhh certain characters pwn on wifi because you feel like you're playing on a LCD screen x5.

So yeah, I'm ready to take marth to a new level

Well there's many things we don't fully look into as a community.
That is, every single possibility.

I don't know, but if Ken at the next tournament won by a complete devestation (well, items are on, eh), and we came about seeing what he could do, I wouldn't be surprised.

Much of our community is constantly asking things along the lines of "release grab into?" "chain grab?" "aerial movement (speed increase/decrease)?", "ultimate gimp techniques?" etc etc.

Now before anyone argues that there are answers to each of those questions, I'll scoth. I'm not happy to believe that a game this young has all the answers for everything already. But yeah, I'm not exactly going to be putting my bets on Ken doing "that" any time soon. Yet I won't be surprised if he does either. I'm living in conflict.

Yesterday, I left melee Marth to start playing brawl Marth. I did this on purpose, a little surprise for my friends. Lots of "wtf" and "omg" after every match 3-0

This could happen with Ken and the marth comunity...or not.

Whatever happens , Im glad that there are more players that put an effort into Marth´s metagame , such as Emblem Lord.

I think Ken has figured out that this is Brawl, not Melee, and thus has techs that just might add to what the knowledge of what Marth is capable of. Revolutionize... I don't know about all that... unless he truly understands Marth's secret ability to destroy campers with his anti-defensive attacks, which will make him top-tier by default as camping is supposedly this god-like tactic in Brawl.

We'll see. I wouldn't completely doubt the man though, because you could say that Ken's the reason Marth made it to Brawl and not Roy if your into "time-continum cause-and-effect" theories...

That's not gonna happen. M2K uses metaknight and I bet it will be him doing the destroying like he's doing right now. He will win against lesser metaknight's, but I'm more interested in seeing him against world class metaknight comparable to his own skill. That will tell us more.

marth is not depressing!! i've been maining him since brawl's release and every day since i find myself learning something new. Little intricacies to his gameplay to make him faster, safer, and more effective. personally i find the complexities of a character to be far more interesting than a single groundbreaking technique.

As a character (in terms of straight up coolness) everybody liked Roy. He had a flaming sword, he yelled instead of saying Japanese phrases that no one understands, he had better costumes than Marth, and overall, Roy was just a better character beyond the fight. Had no one discovered Marth's violent potential in Melee, Roy would've been Smash's Fire Emblem Lord of choice... and to some extent... he still is... yes, he still is... because sometimes, Ike just doesn't cut it.

And it's not like they didn't try to put Roy in the game, either...

Agreed. Roy looks like he be a whiney D-bag in person. His taunt is Heeeeyyaaaahhhhh! and he does a Force Push. Besides, Roy doesn't do cool Marth combos and combos are teh sex just ask a Falcon main.

Marth has always been cool and undoubtedly Ken making him one of the best in Melee (and his resultant popularity) bore some weight on the decision to include him in Brawl.

Marth is considered one of the greatest Nintendo heros of all time in Japan with one of the best background stories.

Roy was in Melee as a promotion for his game which didn't even sell well. He is not one of the more popular Lords.

It was a good business decision on Nintendo's part to include Ike since he is the most popular Lord while Marth is the original and considered the flagship of the series.

If you played the games you would know that Roy is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more bland then Marth.

Now in the FE games yes, Roy is a better unit then Marth, but that still didn't make him more popular then Marth though because Marth was just more likable in the FE series. and as far as smash goes Marth is a whole different league of power.

MK is not godly. He's a great char, high tier and all, but there are many ways to get around him.

And a match ain't just decided by which char is higher on a tier. The chars are only extensions of the minds of the people controlling them.
