Oh yeah, for side events, I support random doubles 100%, as long as we have the attendance. I'm also thinking a round robin event for doubles could be cool; at Hellasmashed (Nova Scotia regional about a month ago, for those who don't know) we did round robin Bo5 sets for doubles with 8 teams, and it was a blast. This would be particularly cool for random doubles IMO. =]

What is the attendance looking like? As in, an accurate who is confirmed, who is likely, etc.
I work Firday to Sunday, but if this looks like it will be worth it enough, I'll try to take Sunday off work and go to this.
Also, I will need to warm up a TON. I've barely played since the last tournament. If after I warm up, I think I can do well enough, I'll take both your bets Ben (singles and doubles).
Also, I don't want to continuously take days off for tournaments, so if you do plan on having tournaments in the future, if they are not on days off, I won't go. I'm considering going to this one because the attendance seems to be double what we usually get. However, me taking one day off work is $150 off my pay cheque (not to mention travel costs etc.). So although I'm doing it this time, I won't be attending other tournaments unless they're on a weekend I have off, and not on Sunday.

mmkay, I'm not sure what time I'll be there friday, gonna have to bus from richmond lol Friend gets off work at 3 saturday/sunday so probably be there around 4-5 on sat and I'll possibly bus again sunday to get there around opening.
