It's a visual novel thing to never really show the main character's face so that people can imagine their own face there instead. There are some that don't necessarily follow this, but it is generally done.

So i just completed Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shouji for the first time and my first ending i get... is the harem ending.. Guess i'm quite the womanizer o__O; in games

the game made me sad though, so i never played it again
