how useful do you guys find JC grabbing? i've been playing for close to a month now, and after finding out what it is, it seems useful from the dash, but what i've found from playing is that...i don't find myself dashing into grab range very often (and if i do, i always seem to be the one getting grabbed anyway). so i guess the true question is how/when to use the JC grab

fd ganon advantages vs falco
1 easier to combo falco and tech chase cuz of no platform.
2 falco cant combo u as well cuz of no platform
3 easier edgegaurds no platforms.

falco advantages
1 easier to laser spam cuz ganon has no platform to sneak in ariels under lasers
2 easier to edgeguards no plaforms

both havethier advantages and disadvantages. they both go even in that stage. but ganon has to be maddd good vs lasers to be able to play in fd

I love FoD, I feel like it messes up CF and spacies more than it does Ganon.

It's kind of like a combination of FD and YS.

Good space to CG, but small enough to tech chase well.
FoD is like Falco **** land lol. Fox does fine there also. FoD is terrible for Falcon and not good for Ganon either.

Platforms really F up the chaingrab, and the lower platforms make it harder to techchase techroll away.

Guess I need to play better Falcos then.

So where would you take Fox?

DL and BF are good, but wouldn't FoD still be in Ganon's favor?

He can cover the whole stage with his range, and the the high ceiling gives him a longer life.

*Sigh* I just wanted you guys to do well, that's all.

Edit: Well in my experience right now, I usually ban FD vs Falco since I suck at powershielding (Trying to train it) Though I don't mind it so much anymore against any character. The only stage I really hate is basically Corneria.. that stage is out no matter what vs spacies lol.

well i lost to shiz in winners and me vs colbol was ridiculously close but the kid is too good and got me in the end.
I was playing well and I lost, don't feel bad about it at all.

edit: In regards to FoD I hate it but I can manage I guess, I hate how the platforms fvck up sh fairs and bairs.

I like all the other neutrals equally vs spacies, they all have advantages and disadvantages for each character so it's preference.Sometimes I find myself going to Poke stadium vs spacies on instinct lol, I guess it's because the platforms are broken there with wavelands.

Discovery with Ganon that might not be so intuitive:

Every good ganon main knows that the Bair auto cancels out of a Short hop right?

But did you know that you can fastfall the bair out of a short hop and still have it auto cancel?

It's true. As long as you input the bair at the peak of your short hop you can fast fall it and still have it auto cancel (zero lag).

It's more like halfway going up on the shorthop when you start it, but yeah SHFF AC b-airs are quite good and only have 8 cooldown on whiff or meaty hit when timed right (3 between end of hitbox and start of AC window + 5 landing) compared to an l-canceled 12 (12 landing). SHFFAC b-air to turnaround jab/f-tilt if they try to punish it is especially nice. SHFFAC u-air is good too though it has more of an opening since you need to start that right after you leave the ground.

I prefer to do a second jump before you land instead of the AC, so you can throw out another aerial. It baits them pretty well (learned from Renth). I like to SH Bair -> DJ Dair. Or SH Bair/Uair under a platform -> DJ platform dash -> aerial.

Edit: I just played a few games by myself (plugged in another controller). I was watching Azen's Marth earlier, and I noticed a lot of running -> crouch -> attack. I tried this with Ganon, and it is definitely faster than running into a WD jab. You can just run into a crouch then jab.

I've never seen other Ganons do this, and it looks like it would work. A spaced running -> crouch -> DSmash looks nice. Same with Ftilts/jabs for quick edgeguarding.

What do you guys think?

Just press down while running and you'll crouch. This doesn't work in dash animation, it has to be run animation. As soon as you press down you don't have to wait to see the crouch animation to input ftilt or jab, just press it as soon as you press down.

What are ganon's best stages? I'm thinking yoshi's because he can move like a motherf*cker and small sides, etc. but I've also had some success on FoD. FD is gay.

Lol FoD is gay to me, and I like FD. It really just depends on personal preference.

I like DL64, BF, FD, YS, and PS... but PS is more matchup dependant imo.

I like FD, just not against chars who can run circles around me.

I was having a hard time with Pika on that stage today. Little bugger is like a low tier fox.

side b combos are so fun on fd. or maybe they just work when you play with noobs who don't DI...either way having no platforms can be fun.

especially once i learn how to sh waveland effectively

how do you fight other ganon's? i mean i'm really new (competitive for 2 months), and i ganon ditto'd jim and chaddd and just got owned. the frustrating thing is that it didn't seem like they were so much more technical than me (i'm still working on ledgedashing; i SD about half the time), but it just feels like they just got the first it and just proceeded to kill me.

is it just experience?

Ganon ditts are pretty tough if you don't know them since 1 hit=death most of the time. Alhtough, the matchup is simple and made up of a few counters and strats.

For every move ganon has, another move beats it.
Uair beats fair, bair beats uair, tilts can beat out any aerial if spaced correctly. Once you get ganon off the stage he shouldn't be getting back. Tippy spike him if he goes low, bair if he goes high. I he down b's close to the stage jump out there and fvck him up.

Pretty much,yeah it's experience.

So Linguini, I'm playing this guy that was semi-pro in Texas, and, as far as I know, he mains Link. I haven't seen any footage of him and don't know the match-up against Link too well. How would I go about generally facing Link, so I can get an idea how to play against him?

Though I'm not Linguini, I'd like to chime in and assure that you have a pretty gay chain grab on Link. Ganon's Dthrow is incredible in most matchups. It'll chain grab, and/or combo.

Just remember that his THROW game is fantastic. His grab game is average, methinks. A situation where you can get a sweet grab is that ledgedash to grab. If you ledgedash-->grab right after you snap to edge, the grab animation should still have (edge-grab) invincibility frames on it. It's pretty safe.

lol Guini destroys me in G-dorf dittos, and I don't know why people get hyped to watch a 4 stock haha. But yeah, I jab to jc-grabs are pretty good. Along with up-angled tilts. And like Guini says, it's all experience; in which I'm horribly lacking. =(

Dittos are easy. Once you get the techs out the way it comes down to who is gonna approach and with what. That's it. If you know your character and it's weaknesses you'll win, if you don't your opponent will expose em for you. Good Ganon dittos that go back and fourth change so much from the first game to the last. Ganon dittos and Ganon vs Marth are my two favorite matches. They teach you how to space aggressively.
