oh yeah, how do you jab jab cancel grab properly? I wanna do it fast. Is this a timing thing or is there buffering involved to make it easier?
Hold down the A button, let go, push down, push A.

It's just timing.

??? I was being serious lol. Just wondering if you cancel the starting jump frames (before fox leaves the ground) with shine or if you actually get up in the air then cancel.

....
Well, yeah....you do leave the ground.
Just when you said jump cancelled, my mind when to the conventional definition. However you get nothing from cancelling your jump with a shine, in fact you get less out of it than if you just did it on the ground. There is no frame advantage over doing a shine cancelled short hop, now given some elevation, you can do more with it, offensively, but that's a long story.

If you're interested, refer to the "Sunshine combo", ask around, any fox board regular before May will know all about it.

Ok thanks. I guess I should have known because cancelling the jump would mean just doing the shine on the ground anyway, meaning no difference.

What advantages does it have over a standing shine?

I thought that a JC shine had the advantage of coming out slightly quicker from a dash? and I've seen sunshine combo before, havnt been bothered to learn it yet but is it even useful/worth learning?

You DO leave the ground, but it's by an amount that's not very determinable, and are on the ground before your shine finishes.

The conventional definition of a Jump cancelled shine is exactly the same as he used here.

the JC shine can be used in the initial dash, where a dashing shine cannot, but anytime both can be used, it is strictly better to use the normal shine.

That last "push A" part will make the grab come out? the hell? weird. But yeah thx I figured out that if I push my grab button at the right time during the crouch that it'll come out. Geh, I'm so bad w/ these things haha.

No, that's just how to jab cancel. A -> down -> A -> down -> A-> down, etc.
Each "A" is a jab. Each "down" is canceling the jab.

So you can do "A -> down -> Z". For Jab cancel to grab.

Which button do you use to shtl? x, y, l, mabye z?
I usually go with y, but jumping with y feels uncomfortable to me,
bc I jump with x.

any other solutions?

I use X to jump and B to laser. You just need to practice it.

What are Fox's best/worst stages?
best is up to debate, personaly i find Battlfield to be fox's best stage, with the platforms perfectly leveled for him, but halbird is also considered one of fox's best stages, with the low cealing for early kills, plus thier are platforms to take advantage of.

as for his worst stage, that is also very debated, lylat can **** fox's recovery if your not careful. but can be taken advantage of by a proficient fox.

just a quick mention of some stages btw

All the neutrals are his grounds.
His worst would be Frigrate and....that other Metroid Stage...

He can also be outplayed on moving stages such as RC and Delphino.

if you dont mind maybe you could post a quick summary of how to take advantage of lylat?

also a quick question, is it true that on lylat cruise you cannot grab the edge with side B while the stage is moving (or at all?)

lol you can always grab the ledge, its just that you have to be higher up at time when its tilted because if not, you will illusion below the ledge.
same with firefox. you can always grab it, but if its tilted and you are under it, you may get stuck under the wing istead of that small slide like on battlefield or smashville. basically you have to be more exact with your recovery

what are more good ways to get back onstage if you side b/firefox to the edge without taking the landing penalty?

all i have is side b or if the person is far enuff away i'll shine onto the edge of the stage but is there anything else? would any aerials cancel the landing penalty?

are you asking how to recover or how to hit the ground after you reach the ledge?

almost all of fox's aerials are good ways to land w/o suffering BSL. Dair and Nair are the best of those.

Anyone who tanks stocks and racks up damage easily. (This is often a lot of the heavier characters.)
