Difference between frozen mallet and warmog is very miniscule. I feel like FM would be the better option since you'll most likely be on top of the carry the majority of the time, so with frozen mallet the carry is very likely forced to burn flash in order to escape. I believe people think atmog is the way to go but in terms of damage "Fratmas" is superior. Sure a fully stack warmog will grant you ~ 600 more life then FM and give you an additional 25 damage with atma, BUT frozen mallet 700+ hp = 14 damage from atmas but you also get an additional 20 damage meaning that FMatmas is superior in damage. So the trade off is more survivability with warmog, but more utility with frozen mallet.

You guys underestimate the value of the regen on Warmog's IMO. 600 HP vs. 10 Damage or w/e is already pretty lopsided in Warmog's favor, especially since Mog's is cheaper, but that 40 hp/5 is frequently totally overlooked, yet any time I sub in mallet for mog's I notice it big time when I'm taking objectives after teamfights or trying to be a buffer for my team during poke battles.

That being said, I still agree with situational Mallet rush on Noct, but it's purely because of the convenience of the items on him. The midgame phage is BRUTAL on Noct (because of his built-in AS for proc consistency and MS on trail to stick long enough to get a proc), and he still needs more HP after it, making Mallet a very natural transition. I prefer wriggle's -> hog (and sometimes avarice too if I farm like a boss) -> phage -> atma's -> ghostblade + omen if I can on noct and then I either make mallet my last priority or sell phage for IE like a boss, but if your early income isn't happening and you need a faster power spike instead of gold/10, fast mallet makes a lot of sense.

Informative read, everything he posted here is good. Fear + Phage on Nocturne just too much for most champs to get away from.

I seriously can't wait for tomorrow, lee sin nerfs will turn off those players that only play him because they think hes the best jungler and just leave those who know how to skillshot correctly

Also, one thing to add to the Noc discussion. CLG used to run Nocturne+hard disengage/re-engage team a lot with Saint getting a 25-35~ min warmogs and having him split push while the rest of the team pushed mid. Gave him a chance to get really beefy via building up the warmogs, and then be able to Noc ult in after disengages when the enemy gets antsy.

I've kinda stopped building atmas on the kids who I like to go warmogs/mallet on.
It's a gold efficient item, yeah yeah yeah, but iono about you, but I feel like I'm a lot scarier going warmogs > bf sword than armor or crit cloak (well that much is obvious, 1.6k gold item >> 700-820 one), but then grabbing an upgrade to a bf sword (bloodthirster or IE) is giving me significantly more damage, with a not much higher cost (in the BT case) and honestly not that much less tanky (it's pretty easy to have like 100-150 armor without sweating much on it). Having 3k health, 80-100 AD (compared to 50-60) with either a large chunk of life steal or boom 600 damage crits with no other damage items has been a lot more successful for me personally than otherwise. Atma's is still okay for an item slot, but I struggle to see the merit of getting it straight after your big health item.

Going a BF route also makes the green elixir a much stronger item to have on hand.

Holy ****... new Stark's might be damn good on supports now (especially longer CD ones, can take that instead of boots depending on cost)... also perfect on Volibear... will probably rush that over Wriggles.

New item can block about 1200 damage on your team if used well (meaning it hits everyone), a good choice against AoE teams.

Dammit Riot, I must be the only kid who likes stark's fevour (the old one).
Not sure why they'd release another CDR + attack speed item, oh and it comes with health? Oh and it has less life steal and the argument 500 years ago about 'why would you build malady when starks is better in every single way?'.

I guess both of the 'new' aura items are pushing things in a nice new direction (I guess Riot's counter to 'EVERYONE BUT THE RANGED CARRY AND AP MID BUILDS SHURELYA'S was to make even more 'amazing' (we'll see) active items that look flashier/etc).

Like, holy crap,
aegis + this new shield thing will be producing SO MUCH EFFECTIVE HEALTH FOR YOUR TEAM, OH MY GOD -

Are we going to have a '60 seconds of poking' meta soon? Probably, I don't see shurelya's + the new locket not being on every single competent team.

I like the new active item. Shields always piss people off when they get away with a sliver of health.

I just hope they had the foresight to make the active unique within those 60 seconds even between lockets... or we'll just be seeing one of each of them on each champ in the game.

Just played a game and our wolves didn't spawn at 1:39/40 or even 1:55. Blue spawned at 2:00 and wolves spawned like 20 seconds later, was really weird.

Apparently this is the cause of the patch delay:

ROFLMAO. Kind of want to go into the beta client and try him. Didn't realize they gave beta players chance ot try new champs earlier. I been missing my chance.

I have a top lane identity crisis.
Most ppl tell me that tanky dps and tanks do top, but I also see that ap carries go top as well.
But I don't really why(?). Tried looking up top lane info/guides, but there's not much.

I hear that all 3 of those characters are good for top lane, so I'm kinda lucky that I like them (and that Galio is free this week).
But... idk why there meant for that role.

Can someone explain to me how top works and/or why those 3 chars are good for it?
I feel like a deer in the headlights regarding the subject.
