The Chinese team were just given not one, but two new buttholes by CLG. The game ended with a nexus kill at 27 min and the score was like 24-1 for kills. OUCH.

apparently to EU or something

garbage.

i hope i can find all the replays later. gotta go to class now.

So I finally came across somebody in the game today that held me in awe of just how ****ing good he was... at Veigar.

I head mid with Vlad, grab a drink, and come back to see our WW has died to a 5 man gank. Alright, bad start, no big deal... Warwick is hard to shut down. So then I see that their Veigar took mid and I grin to myself. This will be a good game. (Veigar took mid when they had Tristana and Teemo. yes, teemo.)

Then he pecks at me a few times with Q, and I giggle a bit. Harassing with Q on Veigar? This will be a REALLY good game. I'm Vlad, I'll get it all back and he'll be out of mana. But then I notice... he isn't running out of mana. The guy chucked Balefuls at me left and right as if they were pantheon spears and still managed to last hit farm with them. I die to a Veigar combo because this Veigar outlaned me, even after I hit level 9.

We still won because his team didn't support the guy at all, but he died three times total and none of them were because he was focused first. He wrecked our team time and time again, but we proceeded to win because of the weakness in his other teammates compared to ours.

If I could shake this guy's hand, I would have. And I really hope he rises in the ladders. Name was Riym.
vman7 is ****ing sick with the veigar if you can find the replay vids on livestream.com/teamaon

SEA was a joke in the WCG, lol. But I can't blame them, Garena basically "hey come play LoL for us k?" And gave them like 3 weeks to learn the game.

And I watch most streams on a frequent basis, Tom. This guy just blew my mind, though. VMan, on the other hand... has good games and plays well, but he thinks he can get away with the dumbest ****.

Edit: Anyone live in or near Philly that would be willing to house a few friends of mine while we stay there for a day or two?

Watching Wickd's stream is where I learned to Shaco, except I think his build and jungle routine are subpar.

omg, shocking, CLG's better than the other teams... GASP, who could've seen this coming!?

They lost to SK (Germans) well I'll wait for results of GF since it will be Germans vs Americans but I'm gonna john for Europe again SK is currently NOT the best European team è_é"...

But I was sure it wouldn't be just an American rampage at WCG where they could **** every other country...

Top Champs @WCG so far:

Shen - won 5 of 8 games
Galio - won 6 of 7 games
Janna - won 5 of 5 games
Twisted Fate - won 4 of 5 games
Sona - won 4 of 6 games

with fewer picks:
Anivia, Akali and Kassadin all have perfect 2 for 2 records.

Surprise Craptastic Records:
Kog Maw - won only 1 out of 5 games
Amumu - won only 1 of 4 games

Looking forward to the finals, although I'll have to watch the replay tomorrow because I've got a wedding to go to tonight. :/

It's weird, I would have imagined more Taric, Fiddle, Amumu and Morganna wins

What can you do against an AoE combo like Amumu+Fiddle+Galio+Morga for example?

I'm happy to see TF there, I'd like to know how they build their TF =o

Those stats aren't totally fair. Which teams picked the champions? I suppose I could go and look and compile that data, but I'm not.

I think Morgana is the most banned so far. Again, I could go look but I'm not.

Pretty sure TF was on SK's team when they beat CLG...

Oh... and a Gangplank just won a bronze medal with the SEA team. Sadly, this Gangplank was nowhere near as good as SamuraiPanda.

There was a TF on SK versus CLG. Seyk was the name, if I'm remembering correctly. I know at one point he did backdoor their inhib.

Are you sure it wasn't Reyk? Reyk was the best player of SK if I remember well =p
He plays AP tf

M3D could you edit your post with the most played characters and some stats? It would be amazing

Ashu, I'm just getting info from the LoL forums. I can post an update tomorrow if you want but I'm going to a wedding in about 30 min. I won't even get to watch the finale live. :(

Me with teleport would have done better than CLG. That was horrible play by them, they let TF push and stayed together without actually initiating... Hope they change their strategy for the second game.

Yeah, I don't know which # pick TF was but the moment you see TF + Shen SOMEBODY'S gotta be packing teleport. Maybe if he was pick 5 and US didn't have time to coordinate new summoner skills? I dunno.

That poking mobility style is really effective against the AOE-centric team-fight strat. Especially once Ashe and Soraka had veils, kept Amumu from legitimately initiating, and nobody wanted to blow their abilities on breaking a veil. Go figure, Ashe would have been so handy for USA to have for veil breaking Volley spam.

Can't wait to see how USA adapts :D

Also something people don't realize is that Executioner's calling pops Bveil too, as well as countering Soraka, so that would have helped CLG if they picked it up.

Note, I missed the first game, so that is entirely theorycraft on my part.

Pretty silly that own3d has all the other matches for replay already... but WCG doesn't have the grand finals up for people to watch. I had a blast at the wedding, but I was hoping to catch the replays this morning. No luck. :(

edit: ... whoops... here's the final match: http://en.justin.tv/ilikestufff/b/271180100

From what I understand, EU fell apart once US banned Twisted Fate. Apparently they had no back-up strategy to the gate-gank on the carries. Apparently their picks weren't great after that either. Riot sucked balls about updating the thread, but here are the bans/picks according to the forums:

Game 1:

Bans: Don't know, they didn't tell us. Galio was one, though. guessing Anivia/Twitch were two of the other bans, based on the picks. Not sure about the final one though.

CLG:
Taric, Morgana, Garen, Miss Fortune, Amumu

SKG:
Kassadin, Twisted Fate, Shen, Soraka, Ashe

Game 2:

Bans: Morgana, Twisted Fate, Sona, Galio

CLG:
Taric, Amumu, Ashe, Garen, Anivia

SKG:
Janna, Kassadin, Tristana, Miss Fortune, Shen

Game 3:

Bans: Twisted Fate, Anivia, Garen, Galio

CLG:
Sona, Annie, Amumu, Taric, Ashe

SKG:
Kassadin, Janna, Morgana, Shen, Kog'maw

Mostly it's because CLG wanted to push as a team and scrap for big fights, but instead of engaging SK would just fend them off while Fate went rampant on both sides of the map farming and pushing. Anybody who went to stop him lost farm and exp, and then of course TF would just gate out. It only got worse once Kassadin and Ashe picked up Veils because then Amumu couldn't bandage in.

CLG also got pretty impatient and Amumu went for a dumb initiation onto a tower, but SK not only packed Fortify but Amumu got silenced before he could ult, so he just stood around taking tower shots while his team got chewed up. Also, SK stole baron twice. Up until that happened, they were just kind of being annoying.

The best moment in my opinion was when Fate went top to take a tower and CLG started running up to him. He finishes the tower, pops Destiny, sees four of them running towards him... then gates to the bottom of the map and takes bottom tower. No wonder they banned him.

I missed that match. IMO EU should have been ready for them to ban TF and had an answer for it or they should have not used him first round and used him in the winning round to finish CLG off. Maybe they didn't think TF was their whole team.
