Tap Jump on, Y set to Grab, and R set to attack. Most other Ganon users would advocate for Tap Jump off, but I just don't like Thunderstorming that way. R just makes walking/running charge up smash a bit easier.
Thunderstorming is a lot harder without tap jump, but since it's hard to do SH AC U-airs, I figured it's for the best.

Tap jump off

X set to grab

R set to attack

I noticed i only use L for shielding so i switched R to attack for FoG

I also only use Y to jump so i set X to grab because i think the Z button is shiat

Also to punish anyone who plays with my tag...
Hm...so the general consensus is that use something else for grabbing, and use R for attacking as well. Okay, I'll try it as soon as I can to see what happens. :)

I've found the X to grab very helpful, the Z button just seems sketchy to me...>_>

Tap jump off never bothered me at all because i do the Y -> A slide for me TS'n.

and for SH AC Uairs i hit Y with my thumb and then flick the Cstick up as fast as i can with the same thumb...works for me..

Lol that's way too fast for my hands to handle. ;)

Personally I just do my SH's the same way that I do thunderstorming now. The Y -> A slide while jumping. it works wonders. And now I'm able to edgeguard with the tipman much more easily.

Nothing serious, but if I'm not mistaken, Purin can avoid a WP by dashing.

Real question:

In the snake/Manondorf matchup, what is our best option if he dthrows us?
We have one of the best Get up attacks in the game, so that should be your first option. If you notice he just stands there and shields, a better option is just to standup and buffer a turnaround grab. It usually catches them off guard while putting snake in the air and keeping us on the ground which is always advantageous. Remember to mix it up though, don't be predictable, but if somethings working, don't change it until they can do something about it.

(take this advice in moderation :))

Hey can someone tell me which characters you cant buffer moves out of side b on?

i know that you can buffer dtilt, ftilt, and dash attack on most characters but I'd like to know which ones dont work on certain characters

thank you

Do you guys remember when Kosk said that the opponent possibly don't get his/her Invincibility Frames when you drop him/her at the ledge with a Gerudo?

Did anyone test it out ?

^ Just did a quick test on it with Peach on FD and apparently they do still get invincibility frames. I'm not sure if there's any difference to exactly how many frames but the only thing is that there's no transparent white shimmer when they grab the ledge.

Question:
Does up+b have enough knockback at low percents to be considered safe? I was thinking about incorporating up+b OoS at low percents to my gameplay. 11% is pretty good and has a lot more range than a regular grab.

Yeah at early percents Dark Dive is "safe" in that you won't get hit out of it. However, it's still slow, does crap damage, and puts Ganon in fallspecial if you miss.

It always gives Ganon the landing lag, though.

That's why it sucks.

You literally *CANNOT* use this, ever, as an attack. The kuroryuken at the end is actually more useful.

I tried using it for the electric damage in a tournament match against Ice Climbers. I grabbed, shocked Nana away, then fell for the ledge.

That particular player was using ICs just to beat my Ganon (because he knew CGs and enough basics to not get brutally mindgamed by any schmuck like me), and so he couldn't do perfect edgeguarding,

but anyone who knows their ICs *does* know their edgeguarding, and Ganon will not get up from there. On the ledge after that, you have at least 20 frames RCO to deal with after you Gerudo the ledge, and the IC will just grab you during that. You have no way of clearing them out for your landing, and they can even pester you with Ice Shots - in scattered timing - all day.

BUT sure, yeah,

if your opponent decides to leap off the stage at 5% for you, yes, you can Murder Hug him for 11% damage and a probable gimp.

In fact, I'm willing to give Cotton Candy to whoever comes up with the best name for what should be his own tier.

Besides Ganon Tier, which I'd have to say is pretty manly in and of itself?

Hm. Maybe this should be included in the moveset naming thread.

Hehe, Ganon Tier: (As) Good As Nothing. Only Nobodies Think It Equals Riches.

Is there something guaranteed after an air Gerudo? If so, what? If not, what I should do in case I catch my opponent in the air with a Gerudo?

A lot of people tend to use their Getup Attack after a aerial Choke.

Try: *Shield -> Grounded Choke -> Garantueed follow-up*
Or if the opposing character can't be punished with a Grounded Gerudo - Dtilt or Jab right away after you've shielded the GUA.

This. I also like jumping up and away from the opponent and aerial choking them again after their GUA ends, because then they probably won't want to GUA again and they'll probably roll. They'll probably roll away from you about 75% of the time, so you can tech chase with a grounded flame choke. Or you can Fsmash or something if you think they'll roll behind you.

Depends on %.
Low percents I like to go for grabs.
Mid percents I try for another gerudo.
High percents I'll go for an aerial wizkick, iDA, or Fsmash depending on what my freshest move is.

This is all after reading a GU attack btw, because about 90% of the time thats whats gunna happen.o

I've always wanted to know if frame perfect, would a tipper uair string be able to create a lock? Would it be faster to FF the uair or just AC?

I think a perfect tipper would knock them too far away at high percents, and at low percents it would take too long because the hitstun is too low at that point. Perhaps if the inverse was true it would be possible.

You can FF a SH Uair and still AC it. However, that's not until you've descended half of the way already. It's not much of a difference, a few frames, but it's ganon. He needs everything he can get.

I've been trying some b-air -> second jump -> aerial -> aerial shenanigans lately with some of my characters (Jigglypuff, Captain Falcon) and I found that Ganon can auto cancel a full hop -> B-air -> U-air -> B-air to create a WoP of sorts. I'm thinking there's some other combination of aerials that would also work as well. I haven't been playing brawl too much now so I haven't really tested it out much. How useful do you guys think this is?

... you mean like bouncing combo?

Hell no. That ****'s too slow.
No, he ment simply Tipman'ing the opponent while they're standing.
Smooooooom, you can lock them that way against a wall at like between like 40% and 80%, but it doesn't work without a wall.

Z1g didn't you make a post like.. 5 - 8 months ago (a long time ago haha) about how u can get a reverse tipman lock on the right side of coreneria?

That's immediately what i thought of when i saw that question, but I didn't bother to post because its.... just.. ridiculous..

Now if you bring DK to corneria, thats a different story... Cargo throw in the corner > Dtilt til they quit

God I love DK

Lol where's my frame data thread? I know phantomX moved it but where did he put it? I tried the search function and it's like it never existed.

I would like to know, as it has been on my mind since I've joined Smash Boards, why des a lot of the Ganon Board regulars post Nidoking the end of each post, like so? I think I know why, but would rather here the answer from someone who doesn't think, but knows why.
