hey guys, if i`m above tall characters like cf or ganon or something not marth on a platform above them, i`ll start shffling dairs really fast. the key reaches through the platform really far and puts pressure on them, discouraging them from foolishly jumping. at high percents , the key will send them up into a chute. hell, it even discourages characters like falco or fox from ****ing with you from below because they could jump into a key and get effed up from there. it makes them more cautious and have to reevaluate their approach. meanwhile, while they`re struggling to figure out what to do, you can be sneaky and throw into a fallthrough fair or something

I definitely approve of this, i also like to mix it up with d-tilts since it comes out faster. So if your opponent is already directly above you, using a shffl'd d-air might take a little too long to come out.

The d-tilt also rips through spacies' b-airs/n-airs, pretty much any character who will try to punish you by jumping into an aerial.

This works on Marth if he jumps out at you, but a smart marth player will stay on ground and wait to get an up-tilt, since it outranges G&WS's d-air. Being above marth sucks.

I can't believe some people don't know that 3 of GaW's aerials can't be l-cancelled. >_>
Lol yeah wtf? Even Kage the Warrior didn't know. But he's too good so we'll let him slide lol.

For the record, G&W's n-air, u-air, and b-air cannot be L-cancelled. But they can be edge-cancelled, which is relatively easy to do with G&W since his air control is pretty decent. I mean he ain't no puff in the air, but he's a swift *** mutha****a.

All Marth needs to do to beat GaW is stay level with him (or be underneath doing Uair/U-tilt), DD grab into f-throw tech chases (comboing if GaW doesn't DI away, of course), and space hitbox moves that override GaW's less ranged hitbox moves.

GaW can't shield or CC punish Marth's tipped hitbox moves either so it's reasonable to spam them.

I also hope that you guys realize that gaw isn't only affected by doc's dthrow but also by mario's, samus(dthrow- dtilt at like 80 if you don't tech) and LUIGI(dthrow - jab reset - angerfist would be ********, I imagine) and I'd assume a few more. TECH THOSE THROWS!

Lol, I played a few g&ws yesterday. And they were like "lol I got port priority", and I'm like ok kool.

destroyed.

I'm like "yeah, it's still horrible in my favor. Would you like to try this when I have priority and you get dunked offa pretty much any grab."

They ran away.

yea yea yea....but that's only cuz you're f****** good haha. I need to play a good doc, haven't in a while. yours *****.

On a side note, what do you guys think about G&W bucketing pills? 3 bucketed pills can kill doc at really low %'s, but is it worth the punishment you will receive for doing it? The bucket has a lotta lotta post-lag.

I generally wouldn't think it's worth the punishment, but perhaps if they're campy and/or you can sneak it in unexpectedly it could be worth it. The problem is that it's easy to bucket a pill or two but they'll quickly become hip to your game. Players with experience against G&W may even make exceptions for that from the beginning of the match.

never done a legit 2v2 game with another g&w player.

*puts on list of **** to do*

On small stages the g&w's def have to be careful to not hit each other, since his moves splash around everywhere lol

Question, would you be able to do a marth-esque cg after the percentage where the regrab isn't guaranteed? Uthrow at 30 -> utilt -> regrab type stuff?
that definitely works against fox/falco at that %. Usually if they DI behind you, it's easy to turn around and grab them. But sometimes it's cool to go for the d-air after the u-tilt cuz it can lead to a couple more hits like f-air to n-air and you can get a quick kill. Risky though. Getting a grab on a spacey is never a bad idea of course.

G&W's offensive game is pretty diverse, there's not always one set thing TO DO. Which is sweetness.

Game & **** dos was so raw im putting that on my mp3 player
haha thanks yo! glad you liked it

uthrow** and yes for fox to like 30some, and falco till like... 60-70? falcon i'm not sure about but it sets up for amazing combos
yea fox and falco you can up-throw cg until around 30. Falco you can u-throw slightly longer, but he can also shine or jump out of it around 40% ish.

Falcon you can d-throw cg from low single %s to around 50/60%, but it's not guaranteed cuz it requires pretty fast reaction time. better to cg him until you get under a platform, then u-throw him on to it. on FD, though, d-throw cg all day, or until you wanna start trying to combo
