And marth half the time. You know, most of the match-ups that are actually played. Again, why the hostility?

Waveshine usmash is better than waveshine grab uair.

:phone:

And strong bad, unknown does drill->utilt in the video he linked, it does work. Utilt is 2 frames faster than grab which true combos on most characters

how was i hostile, sveet? i said you were wrong and then stated that i knew for a fact that it specifically didn't work against a character.

additionally drill -> grab is not a true combo, grab just goes through shield which is what people try to do against a messed up drillshine.

drill grab does true combo quite often, it going through shield simply gives more leeway. drill->usmash combos occasionally.

also the hostility thing was directed at KK

It probably doesn't "true combo," but there isn't enough time that you have out of hitstun between the drill and the grab/utilt. At least, that is my best guess.

I didn't say don't do it, I'm just trying to interpret Strong Bad's words.

Drill > grab on people lighter than Marth is still freaking OP.

When I have a working windows computer I will make gifs again. Until then, we can simply agree to disagree.

If they SDI towards you (which is awkward) then drill>utilt would work or if you drill past them.

Drill>grab is good when approaching to a platform from above.

what if you did drill turnaround utilt

turning around doesnt take a frame does it

also everyone should use utilt way more in general as a combo starter/approach stopper... cactuar and anyone who's played me recently in md/va understands

Why doesn't someone just test in Training Mode? -.- I didn't mean to cause so much drama, but I figured it'd be a quick and easy answer. If I had a cube I would have tested it myself. lol

@Chillin
It takes one frame.

I wish I could JC shine without actually jumping. That way I could shine spike into bair instead of having to space the shine really low to pop them up into my bair.

good set chillin. i watched it last night and i remember seeing you doing some shines after dash attacks near the ledge (high %) when dsmash would have been better for sure.

turning around does take frames, but it still combos even if you turn around.

I have. This discussion has come up many times (usually by the same people), and I have always given the same answer. I also made this vid last year when I had nothing to do.

edit: I have tested that stuff pretty thoroughly, even with CC and stuff in training mode. Drill combos into all of fox's grounded moves (except f-smash) on almost every character. It even combos into some of his aerials on the lighter characters. I would make a vid to show you guys, but I sold my dazzle a while ago.

Would it, technically speaking, be possible to combo drill--> drill ad infinitum (or at least until a finisher would kill) against Jiggs (or other characters it may work against), or would SDI/stale moves put an end to that?

... so it would work "forever"?

Also, watching that vid motivated me to start working on my ledgedashes, instead of the half-sloppy ones I've been doing for a while, and I'm already noticing a huge difference haha.
