after a decade i think we NEED a well developed matchup chart.

the problem is most pros dont care, or are like dogy where they just cant be bothered with arguing it cuz they think they'll meet ill formed opinions.
so that leaves a bunch of people discussing characters they dont really know much about or very little from playing friendlies.

so we get a matchup chart that many higher level players think is bad, but they never bothered to go in and post their opinion so i dont know wtf they expect :/

na, following statement is still true.

You're right. At the end of the day, nobody needs a match-up chart, nor a tierlist. That's why they vary, from person to person, region to region.

They ARE helpful for a reference, especially to new people. If it's a proven fact that said matchup is hard, and there are alot of -insert character- in their region, logic says "Well if I play this character, I'm SHOULD have a hard time in tourney."

Is that always the case? No, but it really just depends on how you look at it.

I'm willin to bet that the reason why you say it don't matter is the literal why it doesn't matter in melee.

Tierlists and matchups are based off of tourney results.

Therefore, the Doc/Marth matchup will magically be 50/50 or as far as in doc's favor if Doc starts winning nationals. It can't be that ~~

Shroomed: your playstyle works for the matchup
Dogy: you play a bad matchup well

If GAMME would have went like it was supposed to, then you're talking about one of the biggest fighting game tourneys to ever happen. If everything happened like it was supposed to, that would have been bigger than EVO. Easy. Top 8 **** flyin in for SSF4, Koreans for Tekken, and LITERALLY over a years worth of talk and "planning"

The needle and shielder ones can be a pain, but that just means she'll set herself up for grabs one day. Ftilt is a bit tricky though...freakin rock paper scissors

I would think that F-tilt would be stupidly easy to deal with if you play a grounded style (which you should vs Sheik since pretty much everything she does can anti-air) and just CC grab --> CG.

Moving in with anything except shield, which they still could grab you from (or maybe a spaced dsmash/ftilt/dashA? I donno the stats behind it) and the Shiek gets you with a ftilt, you're airborn again. :\

If they attack or counter your approach, eat them. (cc grab example) Through all the mixups and crap into a stock, a ftilt snuck in there can screw things up pretty good.

Grab/ftilt/projectile/dsmash. That's what they both have on eachother to mix up and trickziez really. Shiek just has more gayness that shuts down Docs more than he shuts hers down. :\

Doc's duck is surprisingly resilient in the face of F-tilts, I find. Shield dash tends to be good against her too.
