1. Quote. (I feel like, aside from maybe Shovel Knight, Quote is the quintessential indie character at this point. He's got plenty of possible moves given his game's MetroidVania gameplay, he's got the history behind him, he's got a supportive creator... I mean, this just seems to be a genius pick. A small part of me was a little surprised he wasn't locked in with the other two - seriously, that's how important he is to indie games.)
2. Peacock. (Skullgirls is an obvious addition to, well, an indie fighting game, and I think Peacock would represent the rubberhose-style pretty well. Sure, she might not be the only rubberhose-style character on the list, but she'd be cool dammit!)
3. Frisk. (I think Undertale would be really fun to implement in the form of a fighting game somehow, especially with the various mechanics. Whilst Sans might seem like a more obvious choice to some, I think Frisk is pretty neat to see here! One thing - I'd love to see them having an alt based on Varik, the protagonist of the EarthBound Halloween Hack - oh, and one for Kris too!)
4. Meat Boy. (I think it'd be really cool if he could use the buzz saws as projectiles. Aside from that, he'd be so fun to see here - and an alt based on Super Tofu Boy would be really funny to see here.)
5. Shantae. (I think her ability to switch between various animals, as well as her prehensile hair, would make her a really fun addition to the game! I mean, who wouldn't want to be able to transform into an elephant on like, the FNAF desk or something? That aside, she's also just overall a cool character to see here. ROTTYTOPS ALT OR BUST)
6. Cuphead. (He's not too high up my list, but I still think he'd be cool to see here! He's got plenty of potential - I just feel like he's not my cup of tea. Pun absolutely intended. No disrespect, he'd be cool to see - that's why he's here!)
1. Celeste Mountain. (It just feels really obvious, but in the best kind of way. Celeste is a beautiful game, plus it'd be really nice to see the visual of... well, a mountain here! It's a pretty cool setting that I think would be nice to see.)
2. Duel Grounds. (I think it's a genius move to include some SSF2 representation in here, and though it'd need some minor alterations to remove references to copyrighted material in the form of the logo, I think it'd be a nice stage to see here overall. Not too crazy or over-the-top, just simple and fun!)
3. The Office. (I was on the fence at first, but I think the idea of the players fighting on the desk would just be too fun a visual to avoid. I can imagine that MatPat would make like, 19 videos suggesting that a small detail on the stage "solves" FNAF lore too, so sure - why not!)
4. Stereo Madness. (I'm not particularly a fan of Geometry Dash, but I'll admit that the overall style of it - having an almost ravey feel - would be really cool to see here. I do worry that it being a scrolling stage might hurt it, but if we can turn off stage hazards, it should be okay.)
5. Pridemoor Keep. (I'd love to see a Shovel Knight stage here in some capacity, as it's kind of a necessity. Whilst my own bias would point me to say I'd prefer Propeller Knight's Flying Machine to make an appearance, Pridemoor is an obvious and clever choice that isn't just "grassy fields" like the Plains would be - I'd say it's pretty solid!)
6. Canabalt. (Self-vote, but I think it'd be a pretty cool, unique take on stages as a whole. Having the glass-shatter effect upon entry would be fun to see, and I think the really oppressing feel would make it a interesting take on a stage for what I imagine will otherwise be an orphan series.)
