Basically, your moves come out slower then the important characters. So I advise you run at them and shield, or do your moves really really early. It's hard to get late f-airs in, etc.

What kind of details are you looking for? Marth is a control character, not a speed character who can be mindlessly aggressive.

I mean yeah, he's fast but he's not Fox/Falcon fast.

Do moves while moving away from them for a while. And then screw around with running around. Then fly in with shield.

They'll be so anxious to do moves because your running away and move spam away from them was so scary that they'll do moves at your shield and then Marth wins.

In most cases i find myself fairing out of shield, either backwards or forwards

Dair works if they are in lag behind you, but it has a lot of lag itself.

Grab usually won't happen, but if they mess up their spacing, feel free to grab and combo.

Cactus:

How do you feel about Marth in teams? How well would you say he is overall in comparison to the other good characters in teams (Samus, ganon, jigs, peach, fox, falco.)

I personally think that Marth is GOOD in teams but not AS GOOD as many other characters in the game. (fox, Falco, Peach, Jigs, Sheik) like maybe 6th or 7th best.

What throws or basic strategy should I use when playing Doc and Mario? I've heard u throw works nicely?

Lol. Samus isn't really good in teams imo.

Marth isn't nearly as good in teams as he is in singles.

I use whatever throw puts them closer to the edge honestly. Get them on the edge. Keep them there. This is a fun game.

lol tips

Keep Sheik in the air. That's the simplest thing to do. Then just... edge guard intelligently.

D tilt and Crouch Canceling are also beyond amazing in the match up. If she isn't grabbing you often than you should win. Sheiks grab ***** Marth hardcore.

u throw to u tilt, fair, or uair, is also beyond ****. use u throw more than d or f throw unless shes near the ledge. U tilt, u air, fair, d tilt and the obvious grab are your best friends in this match up.

I like ftilt too much I think >_>

like... I SPAM pivot ftilt

Fair hit or miss > Dash backward pivot ftilt
DD JCgrab miss > pivot ftilt

they move > I pivot ftilt

Oh, and pivot ftilt > pivot ftilt

my favorite against sheiks trying to grab me or dashattack or whatever after the first one lol

When you spam pivots, it basically becomes a regular f-tilt. The pivot is suppose to be a mix-up out of a dash, not something you do just because.

I use pivots as a faster wavedash back + smash.

Although most of the time I still wavedash back and smash because I forget that I can pivot.

Marth is not actually that bad VS Sheik. I used to think it was sooooo ******** but its really not that bad one you know how to deal with her bull****.

I hate when people say "Pick Fox" because half of the fun of getting better and playing smash is learning your character. If you play a secondary just to counter your only bad match up...then you're just another tier *****. However, if they counter pick you to a stupid stage like Rainbow Cruise or something than changing your character makes sense. I think its important to have a secondary to help you stage wise...not match up wise.

If we're going to complain about our characters we might as well all start using Chun Li in SF 3, Sagat in SF IV, Sentinel in MVC2, and V 13 in Blaz Blue.

...the main purpose of playing multiple characters is to use them against multiple characters that you wouldn't want to use other characters against...

Reverse Pivots are freaking sexy!

Pivot but fsmash the OTHER way (not the way you're pivoting to) so it's like a short dash fsmash in the same direction.

Nair > SH FF late Fair > dash pivot fsmash across the stage
Landed that on a peach...she DIed away so I couldn't dash attack in time or get anything else out of it...but this worked...soooo sexy

Falcon's a bad match up too, and Fox does well against him. Plus it covers non-neutrals and gives you a different approach on the even match ups of Fox and Falco.

Also, Jigglypuff. Grrr Jigglypuff.

Oh and Ganon.

There're lots of reasons to play Fox.

Crap, I realized this is the Smash community. We're not supposed to try and win...

Fox is just easier to play well, so if you don't have a lot of marth experience you tend to have an easier time playing fox (assuming you can l-cancel->shine and at least SHL)
