Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay

I'm going to make it a goal to play you and Jesus for practice .

If Spam's dumb *** was going I'd play him too but *sigh*

I swear I wanna try to out-cactus cactus.

I think if I play him for 5 hours straight I can't do it.

The most stop and go every...
Cactus style is the sexiest way to play smash.

DI away, camp for grabs, edge guard.

if you are losing in any one of those fields add in one of these

bait a double jump and hit them
DI to live until 120% at which point they can't combo you into a kill move
bait them into hitting your shield and upb oos
find one habit of theirs and punish them obviously

oh yea, and landing a dair during and edgeguard kills at any % and is untechable until ~40%

how long does it take side b to "refresh" before it stalls again?
the correct answer:
side-b refreshes after you land during or after the following: up-b, down-b, neutral b, forward b, normal landing (not during anything), after an aerial dodge, or after a waveland/wavedash. basically, the only time it doesn't refresh is when you land during an aerial, l-canceled or not.
i'm not sure what happens if you're grabbed and thrown back off the stage before you land.

You need to cover more options on edgeguarding. Your mindgames or positioning that you were using weren't tricking axe. Also I noticed you went for the same edgeguard on pika twice in a row. If it doesn't work the first time Don't try it a second. Just my advice.

Also you need to be less campy and approach more often. Marth is good onstage as good as he is off edgeguarding. Switch it up. good players adapt well now.

Work on your edgeguards is a main thing though. You missed alot of oppurtunities to gimp or combo to gimp.

Pika can be more ridiculous than samus about getting back to the edge sometimes so thats understandable.

Cactuar when you lose do you feel like you know exactly why you lost? Do you feel that Marth is more strategy oriented than other characters? Are there some matchups that should just absolutely be played aggressively or defensively or is it all just an adjustment to your opponent? Is focusing on getting grabs something that Marth should always do and if not, in what situations?

I always lose because my sword was too short that day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAgOYVOMnVI&feature=related

2:06. Q_Q. My sword's always too short at the end of really cool looking combos (this isn't the first time I've gotten a phantom hit on my finisher Q_Q)

edit: Also don't judge the match. I picked Corneria specifically because I wanted him to switch to Fox (who'm I have more experience against than Dr. Mario). He took my bait :p And we were both kinda off that day (mostly him <_<)

i think corneria is an OK stage in the matchup unless you get trapped in the fin by them.

but you can do the same thing back, so doesn't that make it even?

correct. you can refresh it by wavedashing, autocanceling a nair, or ledgedashing (wd from ledge), or like empty shorthopping or something.

this is true w/ the marios' tornados and capes, too. luigi's down-b is coded differently afaik; it's every other one each stock, regardless of landing conditions, iirc. and obviously roys works the same as marth's.

You're wrong on the down Bs.

Mario and Doctor Mario's down Bs are recharged by being on the stage for at least 1 frame in the "idle" position. Basically, you have to get on the stage and be in a neutral stand for at least 1 frame to get theirs back.

Luigi's is refreshed by doing a down B and ending it on the ground.

@Sveet, it's a decent Marth stage, but not one that you'd wanna take Fox to. Him catching that and switching to Fox was my goal, since I'd just gotten ***** by his Doc and didn't want him to stay with the character.

yea i'm not afraid of many foxes, and FD is my best stage, so if FD or YS were banned in a bo5 (i need 2 CPs) i might take them to corneria. unless they are kels or m2k.

marth and ganon is kinda bad, especially if you get stuck on a small stage. both characters need a lot of room and tend to hit each other a lot. fox is a nice combo for both characters because he can stay out of range while still covering options as if he was in the range due to his speed. CF is also a good choice.

I have an erection for shield breaker. Are there any good set ups to land one? (not, I'm not looking to land a fully charged one, just hit someones shield with it enough to make them stop shielding. But hey, if I get repeated hits and boom goes the shield, that wouldn't be bad either)

Still...breaking shields is kinda hard <_<. And shield breaker is kinda punishable on block (when it's spaced it takes a little more effort to punish though.)

Hey I have recently just started playing competative smash and im trying to develop my basic advance techniques, i was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to practice L-Canceling aerials, i know how to do it im just not very good at doing it consistently and the people who i play with completely **** me because they L-Cancel everything and have been playing for much longer than i have, I find when im playing with them its hard to attack at all because theres so much pressure

Pick Link. Shorthop down air. Practice L-canceling it until you don't ever miss.

Then pick Marth and practice with his aerials. Practice it with fast falling and hitting shields as well.

Then play friendly matches. If you still have to THINK about L-canceling make sure to practice more by yourself afterwards. That's how I learned it anyway.

If a Fox (or Falco I guess) does a fullhop nair approach (probably dair in Falco's case), is it better to try to get out of the way or to try to stuff it with a nair or utilt or something?
