I never actually agreed with Verm taking that position, but to be honest, I don't really care.

I want Verm to take that throne so I can have the pleasure to dethrone him within one year from now.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone eventually does surpass me. At this point in time, I believe I'm at the spot I am sheerly out of creativity and dedication. My playstyle is very original and tricky, but I believe it's replicable. I think there are some Ganon players who are inherently better players than I am; it'll just take time for them to mature/develop.

You should challenge him in six months, six days, and six hours from now for an extra touch of manliness.

:034:
I would love to do so, but I can't. Brazil's best players only gather at the same place at the anual national tourney, which is usually held at July's first and second weeks.

I know you didn't agree but who do you want to be it anyway.
I didn't want anyone to become the King until they could prove without a doubt that they were truly deserving of that position.

Come'on, that's like saying I didn't agree with Obama becoming president, but to be honest, you don't really care.
Voter apathy can make a man say such things.

I'm kind of agreeing on this.
I still don't feel I know enough about each different Ganon on here, to be able to cast my vote.

Your Ganon is very, very good, Verm.
And your Tourney Results are really good, too.
I also respect you as a fellow 'Dorf.

However... Kalm is the real King of Evil.

I won't allow this.

I'm glad that I'm not alone in this issue. Inactivity aside, if there's one person that I feel that truly qualifies as the King, it's Kalm.

I almost feel a Byakuya/Renji relationship between me and him.

Care to explain? I *think* I know what you mean, heh.
In the Soul Society arc, Renji talked to Ikkaku (I believe) about his wanting to defeat Byakuya. Renji tried defeating Byakuya several times, but ultimately failed in the process (especially when Byakuya nearly slaughtered Renji with Senbonzakura) due to the incredible difference of power. This ultimately led to Renji learning and mastering his Bankai (which is comparable to a Ganon main finally overcoming his last plateau and finally mastering Ganon). If I were ever motivated enough to attempt to claim the throne of being the King of Evil, I'll be sure that Kalm's mangled body is sitting at my feet.

Alright, well, as it stands, we're kind of at a status quo with the King of Evil. I jumped the gun a bit due to feeling like no one really cared about the election. But also, no one voiced objection until someone was chosen.

Z1GMA and anyone else. Voice your opinions, objections and grievances. Tell me why you feel I am undeserving of the spot and why another is more suitable, etc. I'm happy to listen. If I'm to have the spot, I want the full support of my fellow Ganons.

As one who does strive for the title, I will start defending myself again though. Removing all personal bias of myself, and strictly stating facts (so as to not be confused as being conceited)...

Since a few have stated that Kalm is more deserving of the title, I can't necessarily argue with that until I know his offline achievements. As far as I know, Kalm's achievements rest more on WiFi than offline. I could be wrong, but that's my understanding. I feel I have presented enough evidence that I'm eligible for the spot with solid offline results, the word of many national-level players (Fatal, PGN, NinjaLink, Will, Bloodcross, Bizkit, TeeVee, Green Ace, etc.) and have positively represented Ganondorf offline for 4 months now and feel I have made a profound impact on Ganondorf's reputation via my performances.

Kalm is definitely more deserving of the title.

So it's quite simple. Let's collect up every offline match that's been recorded of both. Vote based on that. Unless there's someone else who thinks they deserve the title, and we collect up their ones as well.

Could you state why you believe the opening clause to be true? If we're going to determine who the spot is going to, we need opinions, facts and statements attesting to why you believe one player is more deserving than another. What makes you feel Kalm is more deserving than I? I more than him?

Remember, please be objective. Kalm was around long before I, and contributed a significantly larger amount to the community in that timeframe. But we want to focus on gameplay, achievements, representation and so on. I'm by no means saying this as a sleight to Kalm's skill, as he is an amazing Ganon, but thus far, those who have spoken up for Kalm seem to have done so out of sentimentalism and personal bias. I could be wrong, but please keep it factual.

My opinion is heavily biased, I'll admit that. I've seen a large portion of matches by Ray and very, very few of yours. In order for us to do this properly, we need enough videos of matches to make objective decisions on the matter.

As you say, gameplay, achievements, and representation. So let's see some proof of that from both sides.

Verm has an amazing Gdorf the last time I've fought him. Apparently I wasn't the only person to think this when I was talking to a couple of people on the AiB chat. From what I've seen and heard, Ray Kalm is pretty amazing as well.

I respect your honesty. Thank you for being forthright about it. And I agree, we need to stack things side-by-side. The only problem is, is that I've been looking for matches of Kalm, and thus far, he has one offlinew match versus Toronto Joe's Fox from 8 months ago. The rest are WiFi.

This is the only recent one I could find of Kalm:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmDzF65rRd4 - Kalm vs. Yoh

As for mine:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcDF1baR734 - Verm vs. Will
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXsMM4uGXrQ - Verm vs. Will 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPhtynbbQNY - Verm. vs. NinjaLink
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGzIgOKDNLo - Verm vs. Bloodcross

I should have some up soon of me in tournament versus Peachkid and MMing Almo.

As for the other two, representation and achievements...

I hold the utmost respect for Kalm as a player. He has a very unique playstyle as Ganon in that that he is very patient. He has impressed me very much. But to my knowledge, his repertoire is mostly online. The only reason I take issue with this is because it took until I went offline months ago to realize that even though Ganon is probably third worst online next to Falcon and Samus, he also gets away with A LOT of stuff.

Kalm's achievements escape me. I'm sure he has them, but I'm unaware of them at present. For the sake of comparison for the spot though, mine would be:

-Placing high consistently in one of the best regions in North America. (almost zero non-top tier mains)
-In either MMs, tourney or friendlies, beat: NinjaLink, Will, Bloodcross, Koolaid, Peachkid, SomaCruz, Almo, Duke, Prawn, Pelca, Riot and C.Awesum.
-Make good use of all of Ganon's moves, including Flipman and Flight of Ganon.

Just for the record, I'm just stating statistics. I'm not trying at all to sound conceited. Just, for the sake of friendly competition, I'm putting my best foot forward. :p

I may not be the best Ganon out there yet, but dammit i deserve to be up there near the top. Although i dont have alot of tourney records nor do i have the greatest record but i still do fairly well against some of the PRs in my region who normally have MUs that pretty much are total Anal intrusions.

I only have one good match offline thats on video which was against Takeover.

Great job defeating Takeover Bloodynite. That is a really good Snake. You definitely deserve to be 4th IMO, after Breezy, Ray Kalm and Verm.

When I said Breezy, I noticed he wasn't in the tier list. Also, I'm pretty sure Zhouten isn't dead yet, I saw him today in the singles AiB ladder chat.

I second that, Bloody. Excellent job!

As for Zhouten, I think he still hangs around, but doesn't play seriously anymore, if at all aside from doubles for fun.

There are so many other 'Dorfs, too, that I know are good, but I haven't seen
that much of.
Like: Clai, TP, Salty, Zhouten, Ijosh.
They're all really good, but I haven't seen as much of them as I'd like to.

There's also one other 'Dorf that I actually *have* seen much of - Fonz.
He's really good, and MAN, can he **** Diddys.

Then, there are so, so many Dorf's that I haven't seen anything at all from.
PK-ow! is one of them.

I agree. But I think Ijosh, Zhouten and Salty all quit. Fonz is good, TP I haven't seen anything of and Clai is good.

But again, for the King of Evil, we want someone who can really give Ganon a name. Someone who is GANON in every respect.

I saw Zhouten in an Aib chat today with Smashking as he already noted.
He didn't knew who you where but somebody showed him a vid of you and he said that you did look awesome with Ganon lol. So I hope he'll return to brawl.

I see what you mean.
Does anybody know if Kalm is still Brawling?

I gotta say I'm really disappointed that I've kind of disappeared from the minds of the Ganon community : / I still play Ganon you know. I have pretty much the same tournament results as Verm, except about 4x more of them and just as consistent (my best being 7th out of 36 I believe). With that in mind, plus the fact that I've been on my state's power rankings for over a year, I'm pretty sure I have the best Ganon tournament results in the world.

I personally wouldn't vote myself for the King of Evil since I rarely play Ganon in tournaments anymore, but still, I'm a bit butthurt right now D: I don't think I saw my name once in this thread (except for best Red Dorf once)

It seems that our dead Ganons aren't so dead (points for following in Ganon's footsteps by dying and coming back when no one expects it). Now they just need to come back and advertise themselves.

I didn't quit Ganon, I use him in every match except for tournament matches that I feel more confident using a secondary. That's the point of secondaries right?

Ganon is still my best character, and I'm only getting better with him. I'm not sure why we'd talk about retired players like Kalm, Zhouten, and Ijosh (who didn't really have any tournament results anyway) over a player like me who has an illustrious tournament record with Ganon, but now uses secondaries in tournaments.

If I meet any Ganon mains in a tournament, I'd have no problem Ganon dittoing them. In fact I just beat Breezy in a tournament Ganon ditto set (I recorded them too if you guys want to see).
