Yeah but I'm pretty sure all guillotines drop down on the victim, apart from the power, there's no real connection between usmash and a guillotine.

Are you sure it can deflect a Falcon Punch? I've tried pitting those moves against each other and the Falcon Punch went through Ganon's up-smash every time. Maybe I wasn't close enough.

I associate up-smash with a punt, seeing how it closely resembles F-tilt's "the boot." I concede, though, I don't think of cool names because I'm too busy admiring their awesomeness.

When I considered the word Cleaver, I had the fortune of remembering the word carver.

I really want to get it on here (if Axe Head doesn't grow on all of you). For it and Usmash, I think of an attack that roughs up the opponent's face in particular, really badly, so that he becomes not just mutilated functionally, but plain ugly.


I'm also reminded of the signature Mitsurugi move from Soul Calibur, "Bullet Cutter" (4K, B). I thought its name was "Bullet Carver" for a second but it's not.

One thing that is coo' about Usmash, is that it whips up a HUGE portion of that "white visual Wind Effect". More than most attacks in the game.

If we'd name it after that, I'd suggest using word 'Dust'.
The word 'Dust' is awesome, and it reminds me of "Dust Man" from MM4. <3

The rhyme of both is just the unstressed high front unrounded vowel followed by the alveolar nasal.


By the way, this is the only pronunciation in any language that has these words, except for irrelevant variances in the vowel due to nasalization, possibly.

I, personally, do intend to pronounce "Shin Breaker" like Shin Breaker though, as in, the Shin in Shin Shoryuken (meaning "true").

I'm feeling 'Dust', but I think it goes where dthrow wants to be.
If we use 'Dust', we'll have to be creative and find how to evoke the senses of dust which are much more symbolic, like in books... people who turn into dust as a supernatural power, turning your opponent into dust literally, that kind of thing. Not a "duster," 'cause that's lame.
