edit: ICG, you didn't word that so good, but I think my answer is I believe pikachu is god. and whats so bad about communist party, they have beliefs that I may or may not agree with, but they aint out to hurt nobody

axe, I just watched those new vids, and don't even say your not improving. Even though that wasn't mango or darkrain or somebody, you still played flawlessly 98 percent of the time.

You know how smashing sideB makes some projectiles change (samus's missles, links' boomerang length), well apparently smashing sideB makes pika move about 1 pikalength further than just holding sideB. fancy.

Quit life for forgetting lol. We definitely fought before. The first time we played each other was at Genesis during our money match. You won 3-1. I won the first match, then you won the next 3 but all by one stock. Close, intense, but definitely fun games. It was mad fun playing against you in team friendlies at Pound 4 too. I can't wait till we team. I hope you can go to the Florida tournament in June so we can ****

also, in other pika news, I remember like 2 months ago I asked about 4th hbox uair > upsmash, and I got responses saying people liked it, but was never confirmed if it was a true combo. I'm messing around in trainging, and on marth it combos from 0 - 100. Doesn't marth get shield poked at the head alot? cause thats where I hit my uair, then upsmash at 80+ = stock

yeah, Uair (4th hitbox) -> usmash is definitely a true combo, and you can do it on marth until upsmash killing percents, depending on how the marth DIs

wtf, so... does this mean that pikachu's recovery just got even better???

You should start talking about the really small sourspot on pikachu's up-tilt it's really hard to notice unless your killing someone then the %s stand out by like 20%.

Also I have an amazingly silm chance of making it to smym11 I want to go because it's close. But hey maybe i'll get lucky

Does anyone have any advice for shieks? I have a lot of trouble with shiek. She's my worst matchup. I feel like once I get in close range it all goes downhill.

But I found a new lol by playing cpus that if your roy vs pikachu on YS and use up-throw pikachu he auto techs the side platforms for a lack of a better word.

Sheik vs pika sucks for pika, but i think it's exaggerated personally.

There's a lot to the matchup (though i guess it can be summed up as "don't get grabbed" and "never let her get back to the stage once she's off"). Is there anything in particular that you're having trouble with?

You shouldn't be staying in close range against sheik for long. Your general objectives are to get in, get a grab or hit with something that will knock her into the air or off the stage, and then either edgeguard if she's off stage or stay below her if she's in the air. That's pretty vague, I know, but if you let me know what specifically you're having trouble with, i can go more in depth.

yea, don't feel bad, shiek is all pika's worst matchup, but I agree with n64 that it is exagerated.

Some advice I can give you off the top of my head

1. fight near the ledge on big levels. This is the one matchup where I like yoshis because I get impatient and fight in the middle, but she can't chaingrab me as far.

2. Always, always, always DI chaingrabs off the stage. Some people get the mentallity that they can trick shiek by going back and forth and mixing it up. They don't realize how easy it is for shiek to chaingrab out of reaction. A good shiek will get you every time. But if you DI off the stage, then even though your off stage, chainbrabing has stopped.

3. edgegaurding shiek isn't like edgegaurding most chars. Her upb makes her invincible for some time so you can't hit her, just hang on the ledge and keep your invincibility, and then one of 2 things will happen, she'll go for the ledge and you be there, or she'll go for the stage, in which case just tap up and upsmash that ****.

4. Counterpicks. Personally I like
Corneria cause chaingrabing is taken away towards the middle of the stage, low cieling, and shoot electricity around the fin.
Pokefloats cause she has no ledge, and when she lands on the ground with her up b, its lag city. Also, its hard to chain grab people when your stage is uneven and moving.

yeah, sheik is definitely pikachu's worst matchup. i would say that this is only in my opinion, but i'm like... 99% sure that everyone will agree with me on this. that doesn't necessairly mean that it's everyone's WORST matchup. my personal worst matchup is jiggs. i'd rather fight sheik than jiggs

i think that the most important advice in this matchup of all is...

DON'T GET GRABBED

many times, a grab will make you lose a stock. just DON'T GET GRABBED! never land in front of her, because they'll most likely just grab. it's so lame how simple this chaingrab is, and it sux. i'm pretty sure that most of us would like this matchup if we were playing the PAL version instead T_T

also for a counterpick stage, i like to choose FoD. the low platforms (at least, whenever they want to be low) will make you escape the chaingrabs. i would say corneria or poke floats, but here in AZ, those stages are no longer legal =(

idk about rainbow cruise though... that stage is kinda iffy

but just whatever you do, don't get grabbed. it's a good thing to be behind sheik

and AZ banned corneria and floats? I will never come to AZ ever. FOD is a good *** choice, totally forgot about that map when I was thinking about stages, yea, low platforms are nice.

Specifically its everything. I think it's mostly approaching that I have a problem with, as once I do get in close, it just turns pretty nasty. But I think all of those tips help me I hope, and maybe I'll try to incorporate some later today.

Q/thought : You know how you can stand at a certain point on BF and UpB up>left/right and ledge cancel on the edge of the top platform...
You can do the same on Dreamlands top platform if you go at the next angle upwards.
Anyone bother doing this?

It's a huge stage, and this is great for getting around/trickiez.


In doubles I Nair'd a Doc one way then UpB'd across the stage the other and landed on the far platform into an Usmash to finish a team combo.

It was sexy. :D

I'd rather fight 100 Marths in a row that one competent Sheik with Pikachu. Jesus Christ that matchup pisses me off

I mean, ****, even without using Grab, sheik can basically just SHFFL fair in place and I have no idea what to do to get in with Pika :'(

replace "marth" with "sheik" and vice versa everwhere in your post, and that describes me mogwai. Marf is broken.

I dunno, marth's a half step slower than Sheik at everything and so that makes me feel much much more comfortable getting in on him. I also feel like he has a much much harder time killing me, since Sheik can reliably combo into kill moves all the time, whereas Marth just gets you to a certain % and starts throwing out fsmashes/utilts hoping to kill you (and also tries to just get you off stage and then punish your recovery with these moves). *shurgs*, we'll just bring wavebirds to the next tourney we're both at and I'll fight Marf's for you and you can fight Sheiks for me .

I have to agree with Mogwai, at least with marth you can shield and feel slightly safe because he has to keep you at a certain range. With shiek, you get anywhere near her and you've just gotten 30+ damage.
