Alright Elliot. I love you to death, which is why I figured I'd present this little speech to you in a form you cannot evade. I'm not going to say this all nice and pretty, because I think right now, if you really want to beat Jason again, you need some real talk. Best way to have real talk is out in the open.
At the end of MLG Orlando, you were pretty upset and rightly so. M2k pretty much gave you the **** on Brinstar by abusing the hell outta Tornado on a stage I think all three of us agree is really silly. But a lot of people have noted that your attitude seems to be giving up. Watching you play, watching your attitude outside the game. It's small bursts of confidence that's all talk, no action.
"I'm going to pick up new characters to deal with him." Yeah, YOU SAID THAT. But when I asked you at Cbus if you had that Wario ready you were all like, "Uh . . . nah."
Take another example: The whole world is reading the interviews, and it's all like, "M2k put in mad effort and won the tourney. Ally put in no effort and got destroyed. SURPRISE SURPRISE!" But not really. I talk to Jason, he's all practiced and ready to go. He performs just as well as he did at Columbus. You continued to slack off. Same effort put in by all the factions. Same result.
Are you quitting on me broski? Don't get all upset when you lose to Jason if you're NOT GOING TO PUT IN THE WORK TO BEAT HIM. Wake up call time! Whether he's a robot or not and whether he plays MK or not doesn't mean you can just use that fact to imply that you should be the one holding the 2.5k check at the end of the day. If you want the duckets, then you gotta put in that work.
So when I see you at Raleigh, and I'm like, "Ally, are you ready?" I don't want any half-***** bull**** about you not having any secondary characters practiced up, especially knowing that the gay stages are on, and M2k WANTS that +1G to his paycheck. I don't wanna hear any crap about how you haven't been practicing. And if you wanna be the best in the world, then instead of crying like a little baby when you lose after putting in no work, I want you to spend every possible moment analyzing yourself and your opponent, and doing everything in your power to make sure the next time you encounter Jason, you're on even footing, and you do everything in your power to make sure you have the upper hand. I know you're capable, you know you're capable, the only thing holding you back is yourself.
If you truly prepare, and truly try your hardest, and still lose, then you can have good sportsmanship, take it like a man, and try EVEN HARDER FOR DALLAS. Then, you can have some real pride. Even M2k can only perform 1 option at a time. No one is unbeatable, so no quitting, or giving up. Not fully immersing yourself into achieving your goal is foolish, and if you're doing it just so that you can have johns, and hide behind the potential of still being the best, then that's the coward's way out.
To me, the sad part is not that you lost. The sad part is that you cannot look anyone in the eye, and say that you did the best you could.
I'm only saying it because I love you, and I wanna see a **** good game at Raleigh. You know it's true. Your fans are waiting, and I'm waiting.Step Stack it up.
