Alright Elliot. I love you to death, which is why I figured I'd present this little speech to you in a form you cannot evade. I'm not going to say this all nice and pretty, because I think right now, if you really want to beat Jason again, you need some real talk. Best way to have real talk is out in the open.

At the end of MLG Orlando, you were pretty upset and rightly so. M2k pretty much gave you the **** on Brinstar by abusing the hell outta Tornado on a stage I think all three of us agree is really silly. But a lot of people have noted that your attitude seems to be giving up. Watching you play, watching your attitude outside the game. It's small bursts of confidence that's all talk, no action.

"I'm going to pick up new characters to deal with him." Yeah, YOU SAID THAT. But when I asked you at Cbus if you had that Wario ready you were all like, "Uh . . . nah."

Take another example: The whole world is reading the interviews, and it's all like, "M2k put in mad effort and won the tourney. Ally put in no effort and got destroyed. SURPRISE SURPRISE!" But not really. I talk to Jason, he's all practiced and ready to go. He performs just as well as he did at Columbus. You continued to slack off. Same effort put in by all the factions. Same result.

Are you quitting on me broski? Don't get all upset when you lose to Jason if you're NOT GOING TO PUT IN THE WORK TO BEAT HIM. Wake up call time! Whether he's a robot or not and whether he plays MK or not doesn't mean you can just use that fact to imply that you should be the one holding the 2.5k check at the end of the day. If you want the duckets, then you gotta put in that work.

So when I see you at Raleigh, and I'm like, "Ally, are you ready?" I don't want any half-***** bull**** about you not having any secondary characters practiced up, especially knowing that the gay stages are on, and M2k WANTS that +1G to his paycheck. I don't wanna hear any crap about how you haven't been practicing. And if you wanna be the best in the world, then instead of crying like a little baby when you lose after putting in no work, I want you to spend every possible moment analyzing yourself and your opponent, and doing everything in your power to make sure the next time you encounter Jason, you're on even footing, and you do everything in your power to make sure you have the upper hand. I know you're capable, you know you're capable, the only thing holding you back is yourself.

If you truly prepare, and truly try your hardest, and still lose, then you can have good sportsmanship, take it like a man, and try EVEN HARDER FOR DALLAS. Then, you can have some real pride. Even M2k can only perform 1 option at a time. No one is unbeatable, so no quitting, or giving up. Not fully immersing yourself into achieving your goal is foolish, and if you're doing it just so that you can have johns, and hide behind the potential of still being the best, then that's the coward's way out.

To me, the sad part is not that you lost. The sad part is that you cannot look anyone in the eye, and say that you did the best you could.

I'm only saying it because I love you, and I wanna see a **** good game at Raleigh. You know it's true. Your fans are waiting, and I'm waiting. Step Stack it up.

I mean it was a good speech and all but I don't think you should be telling anyone what they should be doing dude. If he doesn't want to practice or he's bored of the game, then who cares. Losing sucks man of course he's going to be upset no matter what.

lol ill make it as short as possible

I Didnt give too many ****s when I lost to M2K at Cbus and Showdown (I'm already used to losing to him)

Practicing doesnt mean = i'll be doing better, look at you, you used to practice and it never made u go anywhere.

Now I cant practice getting juggled like a lil toy without m2k. theres nothing much to do anyway, he perfected the spacing against all of snake's aerials pretty much.

Pretty sad if 'Snake who can go even mainer' switches to Wario no?

Leave me alone lol I'll beat M2K when I'm ready again to do so.

I think Ally will do okay when he's got his own confidence back his own way, to be honest. M2K and Ally been duking it out, it'll give in on one side or another, and it's soon to sway over to Ally. Pressuring and knocking on your team/player's head ain't gunna really help them, just got to give them that positive reinforcement.

If I could, I'd sit there and try to practice with Ally all day, get some raw practice in myself, but it won't do any good if I can't just get in the right mindset. It's your own choice. If you're anything like me, you don't play well or win anything unless you're in this for not just the money but also to play, have fun, do your best.

Brawl community expects so much out of their players, I swear it's a wonder they don't all have a heart attack at every freaking upset.

EDIT: Not knocking on your speech or anything, Pierce. I honestly think it's good advice, it's just, were you asked for it? Also... HAHAHAHAHAH ALLY GET AT ME WITH YOUR WARIO I need that ditto exp!

It's not about him being upset. I think I'm the only scrub in the world who doesn't get upset when I lose. That's not the point. As far as "Who cares?" I care! If he doesn't care, that's his own prerogative, and he's perfectly free to not care, but that's not going to make me not say what I had to say.

lol ill make it as short as possible

Hmm, well he was the same way when he was losing to you, and then he practiced . . .

Practicing doesnt mean = i'll be doing better, look at you, you used to practice and it never made u go anywhere.

I'll have to disagree. I'd say I've improved significantly since the last time you played me. I merely stopped entering, so that I could finish practicing without having to drain my wallet. I really think challenging people to a MM to prove a point is bad taste, so I won't, but I do hope we get to play at Raleigh so you give me a proper chance to defend this point.

Now I cant practice getting juggled like a lil toy without m2k. theres nothing much to do anyway, he perfected the spacing against all of snake's aerials pretty much.

These two statements directly contradict each other. I've always said MK destroys Snake anyway. I don't know why you're so hesitant to explore your options. Don't let something as silly as pride hold you back.

Leave me alone lol I'll beat M2K when I'm ready again to do so.
Fair enough. I know you're capable of it, and I said what I had to say on the matter, so I suppose I'll let you to your own devices, save if you happen to reply to me.

I always have, and always will give positive reinforcement. However, I felt the situation required a slightly different approach. Also, all I expect from Ally is to TRY if he wants to win. As he just confirmed for you himself, he did not care about beating M2k. That's his own prerogative, and I'm not going to try and persuade him to care, just to try to care.

Nice speech Pierce.
<3

A blow to the CHEST.
Not quite. It kinda glanced off the shoulder, but the wound isn't exactly shallow, I won't lie. Still, I was prepared for that. I can take it and survive it, because I do look at where practice has gotten me. I deleted the specific examples out of this post, because I thought it seemed too much like bragging, and I didn't want to come off that way, but I'm not entirely unhappy about where I am today, and I'm working to keep moving forward.

... so where are the chix at?
GTFO please?

I would say Wario has a greater chance of beating M2k than Snake right now, though that's merely personal speculation and opinion. Wario was Ally's idea in the first place. Aside from that, there are other characters which it might be plausible to challange M2k with. I'm not suggesting Ally limit his options in any way, whether it be to Snake or Wario.

Though, his Wario is ****.

For him to care though by asking him to try to care. What's the difference?

If only I could quit getting ***** so early in bracket lately by D3's and stuff I might stand to give some more faith to that speculation !!

I really wanted to friendly M2K, but I'm sorta indifferent on whether it would have really helped me or hurt me, considering I've only faced him once in bracket. I really want some wario, not just me, to just come in and **** on all their top 3 placements. lol. Take first you greedy little *******. Bring your bike!

It's not so much that people want Ally to win, it's that they don't want tournaments to be about who is getting third through tenth which is what the National tournaments seem to be at the moment. M2k has first place on lock-down, and Ally has second place. People don't want to see this, because they want to have variety at tournaments. If someone is dethroning the king, then they can gain individual hope for maybe becoming that person one day.

Personally, I feel that people need to stop looking at M2k as if he's a dragon that needs to be slain by a hero. He isn't a mystical beast that can only be beaten by the wielder of a magical sword that is pulled only once every century. He's just a single player that has managed to maintain a level of excellence through dedication and effort.

Someone will step up that isn't Ally.

@ people spamming and trolling

Please stop.

@ Krys

What I meant to say is, "I'm not going to try and persuade him to care, just persuade him to try if he cares."

@ Ally

I respect that, and I believe it to be true.

Awesome post, Pierce. Also, the "look where that got you" thing doesn't really apply, IMO. Whether Pierce has improved or not, we've seen Ally at the top his game and it's clear that he has more potential to win than just about anybody. It's always sad to see someone not living up to it, but I'm not gonna knock anyone for having a personal life.

i also meant, I dont care losing to M2K Anymore, I do care about winning or I wouldnt even play against him. We'll see about Wario. my controller is pissing me off though. It does dumb Usmashes and doesnt turn around when I want to grab, M2K gave it to me after all it was all planned!

@ Ra Iji, I believe ADHD GNES are the only one other than me that can beat him.

First part true

Second part, eh. I'm not looking at Ally to beat M2k because he's my knight in shining armor. In fact, M2k is one of my favorites to win. As far as the top players go, I root for, in order

Myself (Yes, it's true, I'm my own favorite player)
ADHD
Atomsk
M2k
Ally
assorted other sexy players that I love like MikeHaze, Dojo, Lee, Seibrik, etc (sorry, I'm not about to sit here and list everyone, and that is in no particular order)

and this is no secret. Still, Ally is my 5th favorite player overall (And that's including myself) and every other player before him on the list is partially EC bias as well. I obviously want to see him do well, and I'm not by any means upset when he beats M2k. I am upset when he's upset though, and he's upset when he doesn't win (generally, recently is a different story, and I'm glad he's happy with his girl).

I'm also quite happy with Jason's reign, except when he beats ADHD (or Atomsk).

As an note, I'm particularly fond of Ally's GF, and I'm glad that they're finally spending time together. I know school keeps him especially busy during the main part of the year.

i also meant, I dont care losing to M2K Anymore, I do care about winning or I wouldnt even play against him. We'll see about Wario. my controller is pissing me off though. It does dumb Usmashes and doesnt turn around when I want to grab, M2K gave it to me after all it was all planned!

I know what you meant, lol. Also, let me know if Jason sabotages you at Raleigh so I can DQ him. AZ might give me a raise if I DQ him!

On a more serious note, I think that a couple of other players might be able to beat him. Larry, and a few of the top MKs, but not using MK, might be able to beat him. Last time I checked, Ksizzle does well against him as Lucario. And hell, even my mediocre (by high level standards) Falco can take him to last hit sometimes (just don't ever lose the lead, LMAO)

Makes sense, Pierce.

I too was a little sad to see Ally's frustration at Columbus. But this was my first really super big tourney. I really don't know what to expect, before or after results, really. To be quite honest, I would have only hoped for someone to take down Ally that could beat M2K and mix up the results a bit and kinda make the whole freaking day an upset so people realize that this is brawl, anything can happen, and that's why I keep coming to tournaments.

In any case, I am only concerned about tournaments if suddenly it becomes a chore to play. Currently it isn't the case for me. I can only hope that it isn't for any of the top placing players. I mean, ADHD came out from EC Im guessing to play in this "big" MW tourney we had, and then MLG sucked the attendance dry from Nope, Thankfully ADHD did place high as he always does, and got back what he used, which I could only dream of doing on a regular basis. But even then, the plane ride out, the constant string of nights without proper sleep, irregular and long hours of play during weird times of the day.. It's all very taxing for a player from any walk of the smash life.

We can only hope for the best from each person's own situation. Without drawing total focus on Ally, I want to say that for everyone this should apply.

As far as the actual game goes, I can only root and pray for the players to do well and make the matches fun to watch, as well as return home safely for the day and get back into their normal lives accordingly. :)

Also. I'm bored. lol. goin to bed, good games today guys who were at Showdown. Ill get a full match with you yet, Ally.

m2k entered and didnt have money, that was bull**** lol. he basically entered all events without paying until end of tourney.

notebook wont be useful against players like Masky.
Yeah maybe, but will i need it vs Masky? I saw him play at MLG though. He's good

I'll focus on the big players that the notebook can help in victory......and the ones its already taken down

Practicing doesnt mean = i'll be doing better, look at you, you used to practice and it never made u go anywhere.

With this line, you have just fired 100 Nikita Missiles, 1000 mines, 10000 grenades and hit him with 4878521643985215 disjointed tilts.

Ouch man, ouch.

Anyway, imo you should know yourself by now. A million people have probably told you that you can do better and stuff, so everything is whatever you want it to be. Tbh, I think people care too much...

Although I don't know you irl.

Oh come on man, don't even give me that lol. Elliot, this isn't about pride or anything, or reputation. This is about money. No one is going to look at you any different if you switched to play against Jason. In fact, most of us would think you are doing a smart move if you feel that you can't do it with snake. Do what it takes to win, not to satisfy. Use MK for what it takes lol, just beat him o_O.

Lol, people should shuddapp and stop demanding **** from Ally.
Instead of telling him to put thousands of hours training into a ******** game with a ****ed up the best character manipulated by a robot, why don't you stop whining and go train yourself. Although training isn't going to stop M2K ****** MLG, he has put (and continues to put) more time in Smash then anyone else. + M2K got the spacing and whatnot down + stages.

Stop relying on Ally for diversity in 1st place, guys got a life outside Smash.

Lol Wario. Good luck with that.

Pretty much

But hold your horses! Doesn't that mean Ally should also be able to predict what M2K will do, since they've played each other so many times?
Oh nvm I forgot...
He knows Ally waits for it
but he's out of luck
M2K can do the same thing every single time.

well you could beat someone a first time a 2nd 3rd 4th...... but then they stop losing and start beating you and the stuff they do stops working. he ether has to change it up a bit with what he does with snake or pick another character. probably mk

friendship is more important, because ultimately thats all your gonna have when the match is over and done. You can read up on the frame data, place well, but it'll all mean absolutely nothing if you dont have people surrounding you that really love you for who you are and your talents.
ally should feel free to step it up when da time is right
