Alright, let me finish what I was saying. With ASL, we were offering replays of every bracket match, cheaper tournaments, better scheduled tournaments, pizza at the venue, we improved the way we ran tournaments, we created a website with player bios and information, we started a facebook group to help keep people informed of what was happening, and we did all of this starting with about 3 players and branching out to create hype for the entire region.
The natural progression of that has led to better in-state tournament attendance, an almost partnership with the brawl scenes in GA and TN, rapid improvement in our players, and a desire to travel and put ourselves on the map. That led to us wanting to attend TASOL and I, as well as others, see that as an opportunity.
Right now, I see LA on a smash high. BSP and JNig made it into the BBR and players find themselves actually wanting to play. Hell, I'm already working on trying to generate hype in the state with MM call-outs for TASOL. We want LA to become more active and to eventually reach a point where they are willing (and able) to travel out to play with us to match us wanting to travel and play them. We want to expand the group that's playing.
When we come to TASOL, we're bringing about 5 players, but more than that, we're bringing a lot of the stuff that we have implemented to help our tourneys improve. We're bringing our livestreaming gear and are going to get every bracket match saved so it can be uploaded. Regardless of if we come back or if this is the last LA tournament we go to (it will probably be the last one I personally go to so long as MK is legal in the area), we want to supply you guys with the ability to organize and move forward.
So talk to me. I know you at least used to be a big TO in the state of LA. Who else are the main TOs? Am I going to be successful in trying to create a hype train?
I'm also going to PM you something I don't want public yet. I've decided against posting on your wall.
