Due to A recent question thread posted, I suggest this thread be be renamed to say "Advanced Techniques", rather than its acronym form(ATs), as many nubs may have no clue what an "AT" is.

But then again, it's not as if most of them read the stickies anyways =P Nevertheless, a simple suggestion that won't hurt anyone.

I can't due to the lack of available characters to me in the thread title.
So instead, I'll put a note at the beginning of the page <3

How come when you use Ganondorf's flame choke as a suicide either he dies first or it goes to sudden death?

If it's like Bowser's across B suicide, It's because of controller port priority.

It's either because Gannon has a higher or lower controller port number (I forget which way it goes).

Though I'm not 100% sure.

That doesn't necessarily mean the same principle can't apply to Ganon.
It's just that instead of winning because of controller port, he loses instead.

Like I said, I could be wrong. You're better off enquiring on the dorf boards I think : /

Wanted to post this first, just saw it today.

Okay, this glitch creates an area that teleports people to the IC's and then back again very quickly.
I don't know the specifics of it, but I have a replay.

I will post what happens in the replay that I believe causes the glitch.
This was on Final D
The IC's used side-B and nana was immediatedly grabbed by DDD.
The camera pulled back as if there was an invisible object on the right side of the stage.
When characters entered this area, they teleported to the IC's for what seems to be one frame, then teleport back to the invisible area (Lets call it the Nana Pocket)

Also, Nana was stuck in her falling-after-side-b state and was stuck to Popo.

After IC's died, this went away.
Before this happened, we experimented with the Nana Pocket, and I was able to footstool Nana from it.
Also, IC's were fighting lucario, and I got hit with one of lucarios attacks while in the Nana Pocket.

If anyone can easily make a video, I have the replay and can send it, just PM me. I will try to reproduce this ASAP
Im just wondering, does no one even care about this, or do you guys think I am lying?

Don't know if this has been said, but I could not find it on the first page of the thread. Anyways, peach can Up+b recover and get stuck at certain places. I have not put any research into it myself, but i'll explain by using the example map "bath":

Pick peach, go to the block which "releases" itself, fall down and Up+b into the wall to the right. By holding the control stick diagonally, still pressing b, peach should float in the air stuck to a horisontal wall. It seems to work on the wall to the left as well, as long as peach touches the block which is furthest down.

Hey, Wyse, what happened to my wavebounce-thread? Why is it out? I worked hard for it >.<

edit: I read everythin now, and you are both talking very brief on the wavebounce section and you're also mentioning "the super secret b-stick", which is zlready in my thread. Link it!!

I'm pretty sure I told you before in this thread, and you added it, but now you erased it? o.O

edit 2: exactly, post #109: "... wavebounce tute by Rkey added, ..."

I didn't see this in the specific character section, so here's a Zelda specific AT: Teleport Cancelling.

How to perform: Up-B and land just off the side of the ledge.
Effect:
- reappears at the stage ledge and falls off/hugs ledge depending on what direction you hold when she reappears
- reappearing attack hitbox present
- no attack animation and no lag (she can arial and special attack, and airdodge immediately after reapearing)
- she gets her second jump back

It basically works as if Zelda simply ran off of the ledge, only she teleported to get there (slightly) faster. If Zelda holds towards the stage when she reappears, she can hug the ledge, and if she holds away from the stage she'll fall away from it, able to perform arials, specials, her air-dodge and her second jump.

Oh, and if Zelda reappears too far from the ledge, her up-b acts as normal: she plumets to her death. So naturally, spacing this accurately is important.

There's a better explanation of how it works here: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=155351

P.S. I think Ganondorf also has something like this with his down-b as well.

DACBA (Dash attatack cancelled bomb attack) New link adv. tech

While screwing around my friend Biggs discovered a new advanced link technique.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3NaTKZIk7k
Essentially its DAC (Dash attack cancel) followed by a bomb throw up or forward, it eliminates any lag in compariosn to links regular dash then bomb throw, as well as adding a small glide similar to boost smashing(DACUS)

Pretty sure that comes under boost item toss or 'DACIT'.

Do you have invincibombing, with TL and link, where you press R and then A quickly in succession?
The result is that TL dodges while dropping a bomb.

Okay, mass updateage.
If I missed you, I'm sorry, but I've now got a system that will make sure you won't get missed.

From now on, I will only be accepting entries that are preformatted...well if something gets discovered and you don't post it preformatted I'll still format it myself, it's just *ugh* anyway.

I would like people to post discoveries in the following format:

Eg:
- Auto-Land/Platform Cancel
How to Perform: On a stage with a platform that moves vertically (Lylat Cruise, etc), position your character below the platform. As it is moving up, jump, then press down on the joystick when your character is approximately level with the platform. Then, immediately release down and enter any command. Smashes best performed with the C-stick.

If you can make entires like that, it will help me and my super busy schedule immensely. (Especially since I'm going to Uni this year).

On Bowser you should post the fact that he has less lag than his oppoent when he breaks out of a grab.(When he's grabbing someone else) This lead to a regrab, jab, or sde B(If they break noto the ground)

Is this new?

I noticed the other day that if characters cancel thier dash animation at a certain point while passing over an item, they can pick it up and get what seems to be IASA frames

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgnjrzrD8fo

The first clips show a standard dash cancel into an item pick up, the 3rd then shows how you can act considerably faster if you cancel your dash at the right point. After that theres a few demo clips at full speed. then i show ROB who can cancel his dash and throw an item very quickly, as can marth. However of all the characters ive tested who cant do this, Diddy is the only one I can not find a single point in his stopping animation where he gets these IASA frames
