Why is it licensed movie games specifically that have really dark death animations?

Crash gets flattened, Sonic falls through the screen, then Remy slowly suffocates to death while haunting chimes play in the background.

People tend to complain about people complaining about Indie World directs but like... they're right. Not about the whole "where smash where f zero where silksong" thing but rather about how they tend to highlight the worst possible games. I get they're trying to focus on little known could-be-hits, which is super admirable, but they rarely choose goo-wait they just showed the new TMNT never mind.
