For some reason a lot of people seem to think early gaming history is just "Computer Space. Pong. Space Invaders. Magnavox Odyssey. Pac-Man. Mario. Zelda. Sonic" when it's MUCH more complex and long than that. I feel this narrative is often pushed to exaggerate the historical importance of series like Metroid, Mega Man, and Crash Bandicoot that didn't really do much for gaming outside their own genres.
