It's kinda dissapointing that there are parts of the Smash fandom who have gone as far as to undervalue the importance of characters such as Waluigi, Pauline, Donkey Kong Jr. or even E.Gadd just so they can justify Geno's importance.

Like, there's nothing wrong with liking Geno and wanting him in Smash... But saying he has more legacy than someone such as Pauline who has been there literally since the beginning is kinda odd.

I personally haven't seen people say anything like that.

That’s not really true. His appearence basically kickstarts the bulk of the game, and he’s a major party member throught pretty much the whole game. Sure, some people really overestimate his inmportance to the series, but I don’t think it’s fair to say he’s just a side character without any relevance

To be fair, Pauline doesn't really have a legacy either. She just appeared, disappeared, showed up in some puzzle spin offs, disappeared again and then appeared in a main series game.

Wario Wario Wario while that is true (although she is currently starting to pop in during spin offs which is cool), It is also true that she was in a way the first Mario girl and also one of the first female characters in videogames.


But yeah, Pauline is someone who should be more present in the spin-offs so the general public have a better acceptance of her presence.

Champion of Hyrule Geno's description on the Mario Wiki literally skips from the beginning of the game to the end.

to be fair so does the plot for most Mario games
