TBH I’d prefer my favourite franchises to have a Sonic or Crash scenario where it’s mostly bad games but the good ones are excellent, over a Kirby scenario where there are no bad games, but also no games any better than good.

I’ve heard of truth in advertising but this is absurd
The concept of Kemono Friends is pretty creepy to me. Not because of the animation, not because of animals turning into cute girls, but rather because well... logistically it’s really messed up. So, all the animals at the zoo have turned into humans... and they keep them in the zoo? And use them as attractions? This is horrifying! I can take some objectively unnerving concepts being reworked as cute or silly, but this is... no. Just no. Am I missing some important context? I really cannot understand how the questions this raises could’ve passed by the creators’ heads.
Political humour in media, especially animation with how long it takes to make (looking at you modern Simpsons and Animaniacs reboot) only really works with either foresight or perpetuity. Topical event-related jokes work fine as social media posts, but for comedies that can’t be made in 6 seconds you should wait until they’ve long passed so the mention can be surprising and everybody knows the full story. Jokes about political inevitabilities that have been going on forever with no sign of stopping also work just fine and have the potential to age like a fine wine.
Controversial opinion: they should’ve localised Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 as Mean Bean Machine Tetris.

The CPU for the attract mode in Clu Clu Land is so dumb, like wow.
I know game design wasn’t really a thing in the early 80s, but even then I can’t help but feel a little frustrated that no 80s shmups replicated the shield system of Space Invaders. That was where the whole strategy of the game kicked in, and games like Galaga would’ve been better off with some variation of it.
Continuing from that last status, I have come up with a theory about the development of Arms: A certain Shintaro Jikumaru discovered the secret of multiversal travel and ventured into an alternate universe where Sega’s mascot is Ristar. He played through the Ristar back catalogue and when he got to Ristar Adventure 2 Battle, he decided to play the non-fleshed-out multiplayer minigame mode. Inspiration struck and combined with Jikumaru’s desire to make a game with a large fan wiki Arms was born. Unfortunately, the team was so caught up with the fact people couldn’t logically trace its origins that they didn’t think to extend the gameplay beyond that of Ristar Adventure 2 Battle’s multiplayer mode

I got recommended this YouTube video about a lost Atari furry game, and halfway through the uploader just started ranting about climate change and how much he hates humans because nobody’s talking about what he considers “the greatest game of all time” - a lost Atari 2600 game - now he’s talking about restraining orders. I get the feeling from the comments it’s an ARG though.

CatDog is not a show I’m fond of, but I like how for their “who are the parents?” episode the writers validated the twins’ adoptive parents as the real parents. A D-tier episodic 90s gross-out Nicktoon somehow pulled off one of the most heartfelt parent-child reunion and adoption stories ever. Albeit solely by the virtue of being the only one ever to actually handle the subject with any kind of dignity and respect.

Real meat? Selling point. Fake meat? Selling point. Half-way-there kinda real but mostly fake meat? Impossible to honestly advertise.
“You didn’t play past the main story” is a really stupid way of justifying a game’s difficulty. Why would I want to play through an entirely easy game just to get to the 4 or 5 hard bonus levels/worlds? Why is the game structured in such a way that it’s easy to get the ending cinematic, with all the challenge saved for the postgame which only gets you a sequel tease at best?

This is the most surreal advert in history. It’s a pop culture reference to a pop culture reference, it was made for extremely petty means(as with anything comparing something to 1984),and its purpose and references will be completely lost on their main demographic, it just defies all logic.
