There's like a small chance all the cool new mario kart characters are npc only for some sick and twisted reason but the fact the trailer spotlighted Moo Moo gives me hope

Judging by the fact one of the characters is a cow and another is a generic snowman (not even Mr. Blizzard) and the fact people are still finding MORE characters (Piranha Plant & Coin Coffer have been spotted) makes me think Mario Kart World is aiming for 100 characters

The fact that the world's most blatant tech demo pack isn't a pack-in, is insane to me

This isn't switch 1 launch, people aren't gonna buy whatever game comes out because they're desperate to play anything on their new toy. They can just pop old games in, or get the upgrade packs, I don't much see the point in making Welcome Tour a sold-seperately experience.

Rest of the direct was pretty neat. Mario Kart is crazy. That basketball game is cute. DKB looks awesome. Deltarune. Part of me does wish they like, combined this direct with the last one, sorta do the switch 1 stuff as a pre-show for switch 2, clean up a few minutes spent on reiterating. Though I can understand the drawbacks to that.

Ill never buy a console at launch, though.

Unsure how one would hypothetically port it to modern consoles mostly unchanged but Neopets has been added to The Snake Collection

Actually it's insane pokemon was so big they made a dedicated handheld system for it that played pokemon games specifically and those pokemon games were made for the system and weren't just ports of existing ones

Thinking back to the "world where Nintendo owns all the 3rd parties in smash" trend that's been taking the here's the keys roster thread by storm

In this world, when the rare buyout occurred, Nintendo kept Banjo, but the rest of rare is still with xbox.

As established by Otoad64 's rules, the game timelines are mostly the same. We still only get a handful of Banjo games post-buyout. Including Nuts & Bolts.

And because of the timeline changes, the blame would be put on Nintendo. Not Microsoft. Not Rare. The greedy Nintendo STOLE Banjo from their rightful owners! They don't deserve Banjo! Banjo would thrive on Xbox! They HATE Banjo!

The fans would still call for banjo to be "brought home" in this timeline, though in this case, what's seen as "home" is different.

What I'm getting at here, is that in a world like this, banjo would probably never join smash, atleast through the fighter vote. Maybe he can sneak in during Melee before the fandom really gets mad, but I don't see the majority of banjo fans of this timeline wanting their bear to be in any part of Nintendo's crossover.

Honestly, I can imagine the DK fans trying to lump themselves into the banjo fan anger, even though they have things pretty good in comparison to BK

Behold my little pet project, The Snake Collection, if I were in charge of curating a video game hall of fame, I'd want to include these games. There's good, there's bad, there's revolutionary, there's under the radar, there's Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue. (Just for me)

It currently stands at 100 entries, but that's definitely gonna shrink and grow as I ruminate on every last entry.

The list is just as much a "I need to play these before I die" list as a hall of fame, for the games on it I haven't played, of course.

Would appreciate feedback, suggestions, all that. I'm not a gaming scholar, I don't know every iconic/important/weird game out there, but I want to learn.

As a Sonic Generations enjoyer one critique I will never get behind is that the game has too many "City Levels"

Sonic Generations has 4 stages that take place in cities, and they're all of distinctly different vibes, vague backdrop alone is not the be-all end-all for what makes a stage unique. And you seriously can't count Crisis City for that total, can you? that's a lava level.

Hypothetical, should the CDI versions of Nintendo characters be allowed for submission in Brawl of Fame, a thread of mine that bans Nintendo content. Same goes for ocs like Morshu.

Do you think content such as that goes against the spirit of the thread? Where would Super Mario RPG (owned by square) and Diddy King Racing (owned by rare) characters fall under?

Super Smash Flash 1 should go in the hypothetical "no legal limits" gaming criterion collection and not Smash Bros. You can maybe include Flash 2 as a bonus feature.

There's a rumor Warner Bros is selling the entire Looney Tunes brand and while I don't fully believe that (though anything is possible under the zazlav) I've already seen a few people being like "yeah, makes sense, Looney Tunes is a dead brand. It's forgotten in the modern day, nobody cares about it."

It would be REALLY funny if the next Smash game kinda ignored almost everything Ultimate did, and when pressed about this weird thing Sakurai and Nintendo are like

"Wdym? Ultimate was a spinoff, it didn't count. It was just for fun, this next game is the real Smash 5. How did you not get this? Its the equivalent to Street Fighter EX or Tekken Tag Tournament, why are you so baffled by this?" And then they rereveal an ultimate newcomer like they've never been in Smash before.
