I've been learning more about translation/localization lately for university classes I'm in, and I've realized a lot of the issues in how translation is viewed comes from people not seeing translators as real writers . If a writer makes a mistake it's seen as trivial at best and sloppy writing at worst. If the translator makes a mistake it's seen as sloppy at best and evidence of a pre-concieved agenda about the work at worst
I had a dream I was playing a 3D big budget remake of Zelda II that was nothing like Zelda II story wise but stuck so close to the gameplay it kinda sucked. eventually there was a big climactic boss fight against a monster that looked like a combination between a turtle and that dog from never ending story

I kinda wish the N64 got more ports of arcade games, especially 2D ones. Given the PS1 struggled with lots of 2D fighting games for example it would have been interesting to see how the N64 could have handled them. Obviously though if it’s hard to port a game to the PS1, there’s no way in hell they would do it for the N64 too.
I definitely want to watch the 50th youtube video about how movies are all remakes and aren’t sincere anymore. I’ve never heard that before and that’s a very original concept for a video!
