I used to argue against the fan rule that Smash additions had to be on Nintendo consoles by saying things like "Well Sakurai wouldn't have only allowed Cloud because he appeared as one of like 50 playable characters in a random 3DS rhythm game spin-off three years ago!"

But now that we've seen how weirdly arbitrary some of Sakurai's decisions are (like a certain kirby air ride logo one) I don't even think I can believe that with much certainty anymore.

I had a dream that there was an online engagent farm account called “are they better than transgender” where they conduct votes to see if fictional characters are better than the literal concept of transgenderism. The results of the polls were constantly being shown on a png of that character being overtaken by the transgender flag.

Someone also figured out how to hack the polls to make it look like the characters were being completely taken over by the trans flag but only for a second. So streamers were watching a png of wallace from wallace and gromit being completely absorbed by a transgender flag and freaking out a bunch before it immediately goes back to a wallace-trans clash.

is this worth making a thomas the plank engine over?

I just realized that the only high profile live action superhero movie directed by a woman that doesn’t have a female protagonist is ****ing punisher war zone (and the upcoming new venom too). It’s really weird to me how there’s a kind of taboo around men directing movies with female superhero protagonists and women directing movies with male superhero protagonists.

The “you don’t have to respect trans people’s pronouns if they’re bad!” argument is really funny when you think about it because imagine if I was talking about hitler and only used she/her pronouns and when I’m called out on it my reaction is “umm it’s literally hitler”. I’m surprised the Famicom Wars or other Nintendo Wars games never got released outside Japan after Advance Wars came out. The Advance Wars games sorta pivoted the series to being primarily an American thing and it’s strange to me they never tried to capitalize on it by releasing the original games the same way they did for Fire Emblem.
