The PS1 focused so much on 3D graphics and neglected 2D games that it just ended up looking kind of embarrassing for it when an arcade fighting game or SNES RPG runs so terribly on it

The thousand year door now goes for like 60 bucks on eBay, my soul is so healed
I really like it when a character from a piece of media considered bad comes back as a cameo and actually gets respect from the narrative instead of just being treated like a joke. Bonus points if they can actually continue their character arc.
I guess Deadpool and Wolverine kinda counts as this even though most of the cameos die and they do get hit with that Deadpool humour a lot.
Before I actually knew what the roster was I assumed Samsho 2019 had more The Last Blade characters in it
I don’t think it’s healthy for me that every time I go on Twitter or Instagram I find at least three of the most insane people I’ve ever seen
I’m replaying shadow of the colossus on PS2 and it’s made me resentful to the Bluepoint remake. It’s a beautiful remake but something about the visual style (like the lack of overly bright saturation which I find was the biggest complaint) makes it so that I no longer get an impression the world is a barren land at the edge of the world. It just feels like… a normal place that happens to not have anyone but colossi in it.

I bought a Sega Genesis. No games for it yet but I swear I need to own Streets of Rage 2 on this.
The NES, Sega Genesis and PS1 are the consoles with the most interesting beginning years to me, just because they were so distinct from everything else associated with the console and mostly relied on arcade ports

If there’s a public domain fighting game I think the roster should lean more into “these are the coolest characters I like that are in public domain” rather than “here’s the biggest and most influential characters in public domain”
I love when the "spongebob fish looking into a toilet" meme is something incomprehensible or incorrect and is said 100% genuinely. Like, I saw one that said "oh. that's multiversus using AI to track your IP address" as if that means... anything, much less anything concerning.

I know this is the dumbest debate ever but retro has always been used in fashion and architecture (where the term originated) to describe a style rather than just “stuff that’s from the past” so I don’t get why the same doesn’t apply to video games
It sucks that Sony isn't making more unique stuff anymore but the cinematic style is perfect for the types of games they're trying to make and I feel like the people saying it literally just sucks maybe haven't played any of them.
I keep getting Coca Cola bottles because of the cool marvel character designs. I keep not throwing them away because the design is cool. I’ve inadvertently become the type of guy to collect marvel Coca Cola bottles. I am not a fan of this.
I had a dream there was a new Nintendo product that literally just mashed up two words you enter into one word. It was smart about it though, because sometimes it changes your words to something vaguely approximating them for a catchier result. The example shown in the Nintendo Direct (yes this was revealed in a direct in my dream) was entering “Edgar Allan Poe” and “Mom” to get “Mothermore.”
The real hook of the game though, was that whatever words you generate will be used by select other games on your Nintendo Switch, and I guess they just somehow implement these made up words? The specific examples were Untitled Goose Game, some Jackbox game and Game Builder Garage. Again no idea how this works.

Unsurprisingly, Ubisoft's reaction to the AC Shadows Yasuke "controversy" is to release the most pathetic and vapid statement possible trying to appeal to people obviously not acting in good faith. They clearly address the statement to their "Japanese fans" too, even if it's very obvious from a couple of seconds looking into the situation that the vast majority of people making this controversy aren't Asian.
I'm not paying attention to latest chainsaw man chapters anymore but from what I understand by seeing discuissions is that the concept of ears have been erased and now nobody has any ears anymore i think???
A while ago I made a roster for fighting game based on all the characters Ryu has fought before (including crossovers). of course I added Obama because of street fighter online but now whenever I think of that roster I mentally replace Obama with a cyborg 009 character because let’s be real that makes more sense. Peter griffin can still be in it tho.
